Trope was cut/disambiguated due to cleanup

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her original name upon her birth was supposed to be J'''u'''ri, but her father when registering her for her birth certificate, ended up misspelling her name as J'''e'''ri and the latter name stuck ever since because her father never bothered to correct it.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Beow'''u'''lfmon is spelled as it was in the English Dub of ''Anime/DigimonFusion'' as opposed to Beow'''o'''lfmon as it was in both the original Japanese version and the English Dub of ''Frontier''. It's intended as a ShoutOut to ''Literature/{{Beowulf}}''.

1.) OK, and how is that Surprising, Realistic or an outcome? 2.) Character reaction. 3.) Character reaction. 4.) Too fantastical.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: He doesn't actively try and do anything romantic to attract women to him, he just shows a good amount of upfront qualities about himself that make him an ideal suitor, such as his NiceGuy traits, his RealMenCook tendencies, his dorky nature as a whole, and the fact he does well in both grades and athletics and is among the best students in the school.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Her ActionGirl tendencies from the canon have often been criticized of her trying to force herself into being one; [[spoiler:here we see what happens when she's forced to use an artifact called a Bronze Card or lest her mother and grandmother will be killed, yet alone the DespairEventHorizon she ''already'' suffers from the fact Darigus ''almost'' would've killed her without question had it not been for Grandis' sudden entry the prior chapter. Then there's what the outcome of the last encounter she has with Michael, in which she shoots him dead in self-defense as a means of rescuing herself from him molesting her. However, the mental trauma that comes with the whole complex of TheseHandsHaveKilled really begin to eat away at her sanity as shown in the next few chapters.]]

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: When Ryo tries to confront her about who she is, she freaks out when Ryo says her name because she had never met Ryo prior at all and thinks he's an obsessed stalker. [[spoiler:Ryo may know of her incarnation from ''Digimon Re: Adventure'', but he doesn't know this incarnation of Mimi he sees here.]]

* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: In the canon, the D-Reaper was effectively an InvincibleVillain who wasn't able to be defeated until Gallantmon Crimson Mode was able to be used to stop it, and the fact Digimon who play the GrewBeyondTheirProgramming trope straight were rendered easy victims of the D-Reaper. Here, on the other hand, the D-Reaper fails to function as a major threat because its {{Aversion}} of growing beyond its programming is transformed into a ''weakness'' rather than an advantage; [[spoiler:Ultra Level Digimon make a complete and utter joke of the D-Reaper here, since because the D-Reaper as shown here [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome is nothing more than a giant amoeba, it's too basal in nature to harm]] [[UltimateLifeform Ultra Level Digimon]] [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome at all.]]]]

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: The reason for its VillainDecay; its {{Aversion}} of the GrewBeyondTheirProgramming trope reduces its advancements with its various agents are rendered null because they still maintain the D-Reaper's initial primitive nature. Had the D-Reaper actually played the GrewBeyondTheirProgramming trope straight, it would've avoided the villain decay altogether and remained a viable threat. In other words, imagine if Slimes from an RPG were a minor enemy at best; you'd have the D-Reapers weaker forms here. Then imagine said slimes combining together into a GiantMook, which would resemble the more powerful agents from the anime; they ''maintain all of their prior weaknesses'' because they're nothing more than just TheBrute versions of their predecessor forms in overall functionality.

** The narrative of ''Digimon Re: Tamers'' robs the advantages the D-Reaper had in the original series, because due to the more {{Reconstruction}} based narrative of ''Digimon Re: Tamers'', many of the D-Reaper's former victims in the canon series had exploited the D-Reaper's {{Aversion}} of the GrewBeyondTheirProgramming trope and weaponizes it against them. Effectively rendered a very colossal amoeba in this narrative sense, it is robbed of any of the complexity it even "had" from the original series because of the fact [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome it would've had no choice but to grow beyond its programming to actually achieve said powers in the first place, thus making its aversion of said trope a complete]] AchillesHeel in this version. [[spoiler:{{Averted}} with Takato Red, although still somewhat PlayedStraight in that while Takato Red succeeds where his D-Reaper failed, his goals and motivation are highly modified due to the human mind he inhabits now.]]

* GutturalGrowler: How his Beelzemon form maintains his low voice of a fully evolved Digimon, due to the fact the English Dub of the original series had him constantly slip into his Impmon voice due to how rarely calm he was.

Hurting Hero is a disambiguation

* HurtingHero: In the aftermath of [[spoiler:Grandis restoring completely wiping any control Ruki's digivice has over Renamon, and creating a brand new one from scratch for her as he places Renamon's [=DigiCore=] back into her]], Renamon does her best to remain TheStoic so she doesn't end up hurting Ruki any further, but in reality is trying to be incredibly cautious in that while she knows Ruki is thankful for her being back to normal, [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone Renamon can't forgive herself for]] [[spoiler:leaving a nasty scar along Ruki's body with her claws as Taomon while she was still being controlled by someone else.]]

* HeWhoFightsMonsters: [[spoiler:Tries to force Ryo to this line by flat out stating he'll ''never'' relent in his plans unless Ryo flat out kills him with his own hands. Even after the massive NoHoldsBarredBeatdown that ensues, Ryo has Besiege arrested which only temporarily gets him out of the way, but Ryo [[HurtingHero is traumatized by the experience]].]]

fan-speak only trope

* {{Bishonen}}: How he's described as looking at least when compared to Henry and Ryo; he does have some muscle growth like those two, but he's very skinny unlike those two. {{Justified}} in that Takato is no less than two years younger than Henry and Ryo.

dewicking Badass Baritone

* BadassBaritone: His voice as Devimon is noticeably deeper than as Impmon. Meanwhile, this trope is in more effect for his Beelzemon voice; in the Dub only when he was really calm did he have this type of voice, but considering he was almost never calm, his Beelzemon voice constantly slipped into his Impmon voice, but here Beelzemon maintains his BadassBaritone in such situations in [[GutturalGrowler a different method.]]

** Impmon's evolved forms having a BadassBaritone, which in the Dub he more or less used a grownup version of his original voice, is based off of the Japanese version in which Impmon's voice as Beelzemon is drastically different and plays the BadassBaritone trope straight. Technically his Dub voice ''did'' also do this as well, but considering Beelzemon in the Dub was both rarely calm and whenever he lost his cool slipped back into his Impmon voice...

* BuxomIsBetter: Not outright stated, but her attempts to boast to Taomon seem to suggest this considering Taomon is as flat as a board, whereas this trope is pretty much default in every Angewomon known in ''Digimon'' media.
