* GenreSavvy: Unlike most enemies on the show, he knows the Charmed Ones are too powerful to fight head on. He directs middle men in attacks to keep them off-balance, while he works towards his true goal (claiming the Nexus's power). He also devotes far more time and energy into seizing control of the Underworld so that he'll actually have the resources to initiate his plans.

* [[PowerCopying Power]] [[EnergyAbsorption Absorption]]: Has the power to absorb another being's essence to both take their life and obtain their powers. Within minutes of being freed, he puts this to good use by killing a shapeshifter, whose powers come in handy for him both at the end of the same episode and even later on in the season.

* [[BeingTorturedMakesYouEvil Being Tortured Makes You]] BrainwashedAndCrazy: She only turned evil after being kidnapped as a little girl and imprisoned in [[{{Hell}} the Underworld]] for about ''15 years''.

* AntiVillain --> AntiHero: She had a bubbly yet cryptic personality and did her magic for clients both good and evil alike, but resented the evil and longed for the good.

* EvilCannotComprehendGood / BeingEvilSucks: Her main reason for wanting to be human. Apparently she can't consciously feel good things because she's a demon despite the fact that she wants to. In context of the series (and even the episode), it's unclear whether she's actually right about this or [[InformedFlaw not]].

* TerribleTrio: They also qualify as a collective EvilCounterpart to the PowerTrio of protagonists. All three of them are trying to steal the Halliwell sisters' powers and prove that they're more than just a trio of blonde bimbos, and they come oh-so-close to succeeding at both. Mabel, the oldest sister, is clearly the leader and the most serious about the whole thing.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: When he first travels back in time, Chris arranges for Leo to be promoted to Elder so he can take his place as the Charmed Ones' Whitelighter... and only realizes later that with Piper and Leo separated, they won't conceive him and he'll be RetGone.

** Dark haired, snarky, dedicated to his family, and neurotic to a fault - he's basically a male Piper. Even more so when the changed timeline makes him the middle child of three siblings.

* TheUnfavorite: In the unchanged timeline, to his dad. Of course, the fact that he's not nearly as powerful as Wyatt did little to help. He reacted with real indignation upon learning that Wyatt had powers while still in the womb, so one could imagine that he suffered from something of an [[InferioritySuperiorityComplex inferiority complex]].

* HybridPower: A common witch power is telekinesis and a common power for [[OurAngelsAreDifferent Whitelighters]] is [[TeleportersAndTransporters orbing]]. She happens to be half-witch/half-whitelighter, and can combine these powers into orb-telekinesis.

* {{Teleportation}}: One of her powers due to being part Whitelighter. She can also teleport objects.

* {{Irony}}: The episode "All Halliwell's Eve" opens with Phoebe talking about how much she hates the stereotype of witches as wearing pointy hats and cackling while riding broomsticks. Later on in the episode when the sisters are in the 17th century Virginia colony, they need to ward off a group of men with muskets and Phoebe declares "I'm embracing the cliche" and puts on the hat and flies on a broomstick, cackling for good measure to scare the men away. Yep, she may well have reinforced the very stereotype she was complaining about.

* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Prue's character in Season 1 is extremely at odds with Seasons 2 and 3. She's portrayed as an uptight stick in the mud who is very humorless. Come Season 2 and she becomes much quippier and NotSoAboveItAll. Part of it is down to her loosening up as her bond with her sisters grows but some of the superwitch tendencies are quite jarring.
