* {{Narcissist}}: She is utterly self-centered and believes that the whole world revolves around her. Moreso, she reacts violently when those around her don't cater to her demands.

* DisproportionateRetribution: Wonka mentions that Blueberry!Violet must be ''rolled'' to the Juicing Room or else she will ''explode''. Violet seems actually quite likable in this version, despite not having the best of manners, and the possibility of ''exploding'' seems far too hard on someone whose only "crimes" were having bad manners and chewing gum, especially ''a child''.

* HarmfulHealing: Blueberry!Violet has to have the juice ''squeezed'' out of her to turn her back into a human, and the end of "It's Three-Course-Meal Gum!" suggests that this is indeed ''not'' a comfortable process for her.

* FatComicRelief: He exists primarily to be this and AWeightyAesop -- his large size is mainly played up as a joke, with characters often poking fun at his size.

** Augustus has a SweetTooth, and his punishment was nearly drowning in melted chocolate and narrowly escaping being made into fudge.
** Violet loves to chew gum, and her punishment was being turned into a blueberry from chewing dangerous gum.
** Mike loves watching TV, and his punishment was being shrunk via being "sent by television".
** Veruca is a spoiled AnimalLover, and her punishment was being attacked by the squirrels she wanted to keep and threw a tantrum to acquire.

* ThereIsNoCure: After Wonka revels his teleporter invention in the Television Room where he would send giant chocolate bars, as in several dozen pounds heavy and with a surface area of several square feet, and people would be able to grab them as a regular sized chocolate bars in their own homes, Mike happily jumps in to try it out himself. When he comes out the other end, Mike is several inches tall, and when Wonka is asked to put him back so Mike will regain his normal size, Wonka responds that it's impossible because the teleporter can only make big things small, NOT small things big. The only solution is to take Mike to the taffy room and stretch him, and he's last seen coming out of the factory, not normally proportioned but looking very tall and very skinny.

* AccordingToMyCalculations: Mike explains that he won the ticket by tracking the manufacturing dates, offset by weather, and the derivative of the Nikkei Index. He did so likely [[InsufferableGenius to show off how smart he is]] and to see what the special prize Wonka promised, which he most likely assumed was fame and fortune (not [[spoiler: the candy factory/company itself]]), and when asked what the candy bar tasted like he bluntly answers [[DoesNotLikeSpam "I don't know, I hate chocolate"]].

* GiantFood: She turns into a humongous blueberry.

The 1973 movie gave them a song with minor variations each time one was eliminated, while the book and 2003 movie give unique songs for the whole lot of them.

* JerkassHasAPoint: Violet may have a habit of shouting others down - like her father and Veruca - but Veruca ''is'' a brat that needs to be told off and her father is using his daughter's time in the limelight to spruik his business.
