Horses have reins, not reigns. Unless it's Caligula's horse I guess.

* StraightMan: In relative terms, but he's generally the one to reign in some of Griffin's wilder ideas when they start to go overboard.

!! OVO
A sci-fi, {{Film/TRON}}-esque vehicle the Car Boys become very attached to.

* DifficultButAwesome: Nick initially finds the OVO impossible to drive, but once he gets the hang of it, the OVO is unstoppable.
*LightningBruiser: Both extremely fast and indestructible.
*NighInvulnerability: Unlike all the other vehicles in BeamNG, the OVO cannot be destroyed or even dented by anything Nick and Griffin do to it. Although the OVO is briefly God Trashed in one episode, it still manages to bounce back from it.

!!Ball
An inflatable ball. Griffin loves Ball very much.

*CompanionCube: Griffin gets very attached to Ball very quickly.
*EleventhHourRanger: Only gets introduced in the penultimate episode but Ball [[spoiler: follows Nick and Griffin into the time ring.]]

* AscendedToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: [[spoiler: Becomes Beam Nick in the Time Ring, forming the BeamNG alongside Griffin.]]
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: [[spoiler: Accidentally summons The Blob into the Time Ring when he was trying to summon Ball at Griffin's behest. Subverted in that this turns out to have been their solution to defeating The Blob, trapping it in limbo just outside of the Time Ring's inner sanctum.]]

* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler: See Nick's entry. Griffin is initially the more vocally opposed to this fate as he'd rather not be stuck in a Time Ring in a Shitty Waterproof Car.]]
* AscendedToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: [[spoiler: Becomes Beam Griffin in the Time Ring, forming the BeamNG alongside Nick.]]

* FromASingleCell: Several attempts to God-Trash it in Episode 34 resulted in it rupturing, only for time to freeze and restart itself with The Blob back intact. Their attempts to kill it by driving the Ovo into it as high speeds killed it without turning the universe unstable, but a few moments later it had managed to reform itself fully.

Griffin Andrew [=McElroy=] is the sweet baby brother of the famous [=McElroy=] Brothers. While his roles in ''WebVideo/MonsterFactory''
''WebVideo/MonsterFactory'' and ''WebVideo/TouchTheSkyrim'' feature him as the driving force of the insanity, here he takes a backseat while egging on Nick to indulge in his insane desires.

A page to help learn about the characters that form the rich mythos of Car Boys.

!! Nick Robinson
A video producer for Polygon, Nick Robinson is the one [[{{Pun}} behind the wheel of Car Boys]].

* StraightMan: In relative terms, but he's generally the one to reign in some of Griffin's wilder ideas when they start to go overboard.

Griffin Andrew [=McElroy=] is the sweet baby brother of the famous [=McElroy=] Brothers. While his roles in ''WebVideo/MonsterFactory''

* ItsPronouncedTroPay: His last name is pronounced "Mackleroy."

!! Busto 1.0
A crash test dummy that serves as Nick and Griffin's companion early on in the series.

* AscendedToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: Ascends to The Sun Chips Place in "Nick and Griffin in VR City."
* BigGood: A highly benevolent force that serves to combat the unending chaos around him.
* Expy: His design resembles The Stig from ''Series/TopGear''.
* SealedGoodInACan: Spends a good amount of time trapped in a bus, during which Nick and Griffin will do their damnedest to free him.

!! Busto 2.0
The second crash test dummy that Nick and Griffin meet. This one is really one of a species of eldritch horrors that pose a threat to existence.

* AlienGeometries: When pushed too far (or rather pulled very hard in a slowed-time environment) he explodes into a "dude ocean" as Griffin once put it.
* BigBad: The most recurring antagonist faced by the boys.
* EldritchAbomination: Mates with others of his kinds in acts that destroy and create entire universes.
* HumanoidAbomination: A most-likely-malevolent eldritch god in the form of an orange crash test dummy.
* PetTheDog: After a mating session with another of his kind, was kind enough to bestow upon the boys a plane with invisible wings and landing gear.
* RealityWarper: Can alter physics or render beings invisible on a whim.
* SealedEvilInADuel: Becomes this with Iron Man in the original Gridmap.

!! ComicBook/IronMan
Also known as Tony Stark, Iron Man is a famous Marvel superhero. He, or at the very least his armor, appears as a modded-in character.

* MysteriousProtector: Nick and Griffin seem to designate him as this for them in Episode 31.
* SealedEvilInADuel: Is dueling the evil of Busto 2.0 in the original gridmap. Takes a break from it to hang out in Whalefred's Wooly Island before the Blob shows up.

!! The Blob
A dark being in the form of a large inflatable mat.

* AlienGeometries: Rivals Busto 2.0 in this regard.
* BiggerBad: Upon god-trashing it, Nick and Griffin grant it this role.
* TheCorruption: Swallowed a plane and coated it in it's own horrible body, and is theorized to have turned Busto 2.0 into the terrible being that it is today.
* EldritchAbomination: Possibly even moreso than Busto 2.0.
