* TooPowerfulToLive: Mallus is easily the most powerful BigBad to ever appear in the Arrowverse[[note]]unless you count [[Series/{{Constantine}} Manny]][[/note]]. The Legends spend most of the season trying to [[SealedEvilInACan prevent his release]] and when that fails the only option left is to [[KilledOffForReal kill him permanently]], as there is no way he could have been left around with the safety of existence still guaranteed.

* ExpendableClone: He's one of several time remnants Future Barry created to try and stop on Savitar. He's also the only survivor, and is less than happy with being treated as expendable.

** Tracy comes to the conclusion that Savitar's armour keeps his supercharged speed under control, and that he'd likely suffer severe side-effects without it. When seen without the suit, Savitar's speed seems no different than Barry's, and he suffers no obvious consequences to going without it.

* MysteriousPast: Allegedly he was the first human to become a speedster before he became a god. It gets more muddled when he claims that Barry created him, only to backtrack and claim he created himself, meaning it's possible he's ''not'' the Savitar from legend, [[GodGuise merely someone using his name]] (similar to Hunter Zolomon only pretending to be Jay Garrick). "Into The Speed Force" confirms this to be the case, and "I Know Who You Are" reveals his true identity -- a time remnant of Barry himself. Then "Cause and Effect" has the team theorize that he deliberately created the myth of the God of Speed by means of time travel, meaning he ''is'' that AncientEvil, but the myth itself is inaccurate.

* OhCrap: Has this moment when he realizes that he failed to kill Iris, putting his existance in jepordy.

* RippleEffectProofMemory: He seems to have knowledge of the Flashpoint timeline that was erased. This is because he [[PlaceBeyondTime got trapped inside the Speed Force by Future Barry]], allowing him to observe the events of Flashpoint unaffected. Then it turns out he is a time remnant of Future Barry, so whatever Barry does to try and stop him, Savitar remembers and can easily counter it.
