! Earth-90

[[folder: In General]]
* AlternateSelf:
** An interesting case involving the Allen family, Iris West, Leonard Snart, Linda Park, and Sam Scudder, as they are not played by the same actors there.
*** Creator/JohnWesleyShipp is the most notable example. He plays Barry Allen in this universe, whereas the Earths 1 and 2 versions are both played by Creator/GrantGustin. He also plays the Earth-1 Henry Allen, but his respective counterparts on this Earth is played by Creator/MEmmetWalsh.
*** Nora Thompson-Allen is played by Priscilla Pointer in this universe, but is played by Michelle Harrison on Earths 1 and 2.
*** Iris West is played by Paula Marshall in this universe, but is played by Creator/CandicePatton on Earths 1 and 2.
*** This universe has Leonard Wynters as the supervillain Captain Cold played by Michael Champion, but the TruerToTheText versions of Leonard Snart from Earths 1 and X are both played by Creator/WentworthMiller.
*** Linda Park is played by Mariko Tse in this universe. On Earth-1 she's originally played by Olivia Cheng before Creator/MaleseJow takes over. The Earth-2 version is only ever played by Jow.
*** Sam Scudder is played by Creator/DavidCassidy in this universe, but is played by Grey Damon on Earth-1.
** This universe shares a James Jesse with Earths 1 and 3.
** This universe shares a Tina [=McGee=] with Earth-1.
** This universe shares a Julio Mendez with Earth-1.
** This universe shares an Anthony Bellows with Earth-1.
** This universe shares a Zoey Clark with Earth-1.
** This universe shares a John Diggle with Earth-1, albeit he may be under the name Jon Stewart after his stepfather.
* AlternateTimeline: At least with Earth-1.
** Here, Barry is closer in age with Tina [=McGee=], Julio Mendez, Zoey Clark and James Jesse. There, Barry is decades younger than they, who are instead closer in age to Henry.
** Nora was murdered in that universe when Barry was really young.
** There, Barry is an only child.
** Here, Linda Park is considerably older than Barry and his peers.
** Here, Henry Allen was not arrested/convicted of his wife's murder. Barry joined the force as a "Police Scientist," which is an early interpretation of a CSI tech, to counterbalance his father's desire to have two policeman sons, and his innate scientific nature. Henry, though, thought of Barry's career choice as inferior to his other son's.
** Courtney Whitmore was born on a much later time here given that she's a young adult in 2018, whereas the one from Earth-1 was a young adult during UsefulNotes/WorldWarII. This universe's Courtney is closer in age with the New Earth-2 version, however.
* BusCrash: All the characters introduced in the 90s series expect for Barry himself were killed during Mar Novu's "test" in 2018. Hopefully, the resolution of the Crisis restored Earth-90 to normal.
* CanonInvasion: Initially an independent location, it got {{retcon}}ned into being a part of the Series/{{Arrowverse}}.
* DoomedHometown: It's not explicitly stated if it's destroyed like Earth-2, but it certainly is gravely trashed the last time it is shown.
* ExpendableAlternateUniverse: It was ravaged and probably completely destroyed by the Monitor.
* ForWantOfANail: As detailed above, this universe is where determining the AlternateSelf for certain Series/{{Arrowverse}} characters becomes ''really'' complicated.
* InSpiteOfANail: Despite the differences, certain things and events in this universe still align with those in the other Series/{{Arrowverse}} multiverse in one form or another;
** Much like on Earth-1, Barry Allen is still The Flash, a forensic scientist for the CCPD, and got his SuperheroOrigin in a FreakLabAccident involving a lightning.
** Much like on Earth-1, Barry Allen still ended up allying himself with S.T.A.R. Labs to fight crime after gaining his SuperSpeed . His closest female ally there is also a widow scientist.
** Much like on Earth-3, a character played by Creator/JohnWesleyShipp is a heroic speedster called The Flash.
** Much like on Earth-1, Barry's closest male friend is still a geeky non-Caucasian person.
** Much like on Earths 1 and 2, Barry Allen and Iris West still ended up in a relationship.
** Much like on Earth-1, a family member's death still becomes Barry's catalyst to be a superhero. For the matter, an older male family member of his still gets killed by a personal enemy.
** Much like on Earth-1, Barry still gets an EvilKnockoff with a blue ColorMotif and ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming who ended up fatally shot.
** The supervillains. Sam Scudder is still the Mirror Master, James Jesse is still the Trickster with Zoey Clark as his partner Prank, and a man named Leonard is still Captain Cold, much like on Earth-1. In fact, Jesse is also the Trickster on Earth-3, though no Zoey Clark on sight.
** People's jobs. Much like on Earth-1, Tina [=McGee=] is still a scientist, Julio Mendez (at least in one AlternateTimeline there) still works for the CCPD, and Linda Park is still a reporter. Barry Allen is still CCPD's forensic scientist on Earths 1 and 2.
** S.T.A.R. Labs also exists on Earths 1, 2, and 19.
** A man named Leonard wields a FreezeRay and calls himself "C. Cold". Earths 1 and 90 are both "Captain", while Earth-X opts with "Citizen".
** On a meta example, Creator/JohnWesleyShipp was still playing a member of the Allen family, while Tina [=McGee=], Julio Mendez, Anthony Bellows, Zoey Clark, and James Jesse are still respectively played by Amanda Pays, Creator/AlexDesert, Vito D'Ambrosio, Corinne Behrer, and Creator/MarkHamill.
* KillEmAll: After Barry's HeroicSacrifice and the Multiverse's destruction in ''Series/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths2019'', this universe no longer has any known survivors.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: A ton of heroes emerged on this Earth after ''Series/{{The Flash|1990}}'' went off air.
* StartToCorpse: Most of the heroes are introduced via their lifeless bodies.

----
* AdaptationDyeJob: Barry Allen is blond in the comics, but here his hair is brown.
* AdvertisedExtra: Downplayed, in ''Elseworlds'' he ultimately just serves to deliver some exposition about the Monitor, confront him with the others in the second hour, and then be transported elsewhere against his will.
* AlternateSelf: A very interesting example. He has two namesakes with the exact same background on [[Characters/ArrowverseWestAllenFamily two]] [[Characters/ArrowverseEarth2 different]] {{Alternate Universe}}s, but physically he looks exactly like the two's respective fathers and [[Characters/ArrowverseOtherEarths another different person who has his likeness and powers]].
* AlternateTimeline: [[Characters/ArrowverseWestAllenFamily His]] [[Characters/ArrowverseEarth2 two]] namesakes in TheMultiverse are considerably younger than Tina, Julio, Bellows, and Trickster's counterparts.
* AmicableExes: With Iris West, before she was put on a LongBusTrip, that is...
* BackForTheDead: Comes back nearly twenty eight years after his show's cancellation and disappears again for a year, only to perform a HeroicSacrifice once he comes back.
* BadassBookworm: Barry is very well-read and intelligent while also being the fastest thing alive.
* BadassInDistress: After Mar Novu sends him to the Netherverse, he is kidnapped by Mobius and forced to run over a treadmill to power an antimatter cannon that destroys alternate worlds.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Tina [=McGee=].
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He's a friendly enough guy, but pissing him off probably isn't a good idea. And if you try to hurt the people he cares about, he won't let you off the hook with a warning slip.
* BigEater: His powers drain his energy a lot faster, and his body is constantly demanding more fuel to be put in its place. Thus, Barry goes through a fridge's worth of food in little time.
* BigLittleBrother: He is taller (6'1) than the similarly tall (5'11) Jay, and is certainly [[HeroicBuild more muscular]].
* TheBusCameBack: After a 28 year absence since his show's premature cancellation, he comes back in the 2018 ''Series/{{Arrowverse}}'' crossover, ''Series/{{Elseworlds|2018}}''.
* CompositeCharacter:
** Barry's large appetite and friendship with Tina [=McGee=] are all taken from ComicBook/WallyWest's run as the Flash; Barry can only ones as fast as the speed as sound, which was Wally's limit in the comics at the time as well. The costume is based on Wally's subtly different one as well.
** There are some elements of [[ComicBook/EobardThawne The Reverse Flash/ Professor Zoom]] within Barry too, such as the fact that his clone (with his speed-based powers) ended up being a VillainOfTheWeek, and he also went undercover as Professor Zoom to catch another villain.
* CoolUncle: He is very fond of and is close to the children of his older brother Jay.
* CharacterAgedWithTheActor: He returns to the Arrowverse series as an OldSuperhero due to the time that passed since John Wesley Shipp interpreted this incarnation of Barry Allen.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: A prime example. It's his main beef with Tina too.
* DeadAlternateCounterpart: For both Jay Garrick from ''Arrowverse'' Earth-3 (physically) and Earth-1 Barry Allen (name and background wise), following his HeroicSacrifice.
* DeadpanSnarker: Does this often, both in ''and'' out of costume.
-->'''Officer''': Why the hell are you dressed like that?
-->'''The Flash''': Because I happen to like the color red?
* TheDeterminator: He does ''not'' take the fall of Earth-90 lying down. After the Monitor destroys it, he devotes all of his strength into breaching into Earth-1 so he can inform the heroes of their situation and even charges straight for the Monitor himself... for all the good it did him.
* EvilIsHammy: John Wesley Shipp is evidently having a blast playing a brainwashed Flash in "The Trial of the Trickster".
* FaceDeathWithDignity: He literally ran to his death without any signs of hesitation.
* FailureHero: He couldn't save the Monitor from slaughtering his Earth, nor save his fellow heroes.
* ForWantOfANail: For some reason, his physical counterparts on both Earths 1 and 2 are his father, while his physical counterpart on Earth-3 is his brother Jay.
* FreakLabAccident: How he became The Flash.
* FriendToAllChildren: In the seventh episode "Child's Play", Barry goes out his way to protect two orphaned kids from a drug lord. And later in "Be My Baby" he shelters a woman and her baby who are on the run from her selective breeding manipulative ex-husband.
* HappilyMarried: He tells Earth-1 Barry that he and Tina got married. It is strongly suggested it was a loving marriage due to him doing parallels between Earth-1 Barry and Iris' marriage and his marriage to Tina and remebering Tina telling him that she trusts him.
* TheHero: Of the series. The show is named after him!
* TheHeroDies: He hijacks [[Series/TheFlash2014 Earth-1 Barry Allen]]'s HeroicSacrifice to save TheMultiverse during ''Series/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths2019''.
* HeroesLoveDogs: Has a dog named Earl.
* HeroicBuild: He packs a ''considerable'' amount of muscle.
* HeroicSacrifice: Sacrifices himself in the ''Series/{{Arrowverse}}'' crossover event ''Series/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths2019'' to stop the Anti-Monitor's multiverse-destroying device.
* HeroWithBadPublicity: Sometimes, sometimes not. But particularly in the episode "Flash Forward" where Barry's reputation gets smashed by an insensitive reporter. It's so insulting that Barry decides to [[TenMinuteRetirement quit superheroics right then and there]].
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Julio Mendez since (or possibly earlier) high school.
* HotBlooded: When he's angry he tends to make clouded decisions. Best shown in ''Elseworlds'' where he impulsively charges straight for the Monitor ... and ends up in a portal for this troubles.
* HotScientist: His good looks don't go unnoticed by the females that appear on the show, plus he's a CSI.
* {{Hunk}}: Chiseled features and such.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Feel this way in the pilot episode, but gets over it.
* IdenticalStranger: Earth-1 Barry compares him with his late father Henry.
* ImprovFu: Seems to prefer this more than hand-to-hand combat, which makes sense, since no one can usually lay a hand on him. He even takes out a group of drug dealers by playing an electric guitar at super-accelerated frequencies.
* InsistentTerminology: Barry was considered an "enhanced human," rather than the modern "meta-human."
* TheLabRat: His job at the Central City Police Department.
* LanternJawOfJustice: His jaw is really wide, befitting a superhero.
* LightningBruiser: And how. Villains and petty crooks alike tend to not know what hit them.
* MotorMouth: His mouth runs faster than he does.
* MrFanservice: He occasionally has {{Shirtless Scene}}s.
* NiceGuy: He's generally just a thoughtful and sweet dude.
* NoBodyLeftBehind: He ran to reverse the antimatter cannon which causes his entire body to be disintegrated. In the end, all that was left is his ChestInsignia.
* OldSuperhero: He's still an active superhero twenty eight years after gaining his powers.
* PassingTheTorch: In a sense, he tells the other Barry to keep riding the lightning before sacrificing his life to save him and the multiverse.
* PlatonicLifePartners: Subverted with Dr. Tina [=McGee=]; by the end of the series, it's all but established that the two of them had a ''very'' strong bond, but though Barry frequently daydreamed of them getting a RelationshipUpgrade, Tina remained afraid since her husband died and she didn't want a repeat. They did indeed become a couple, eventually getting married.
* PowerParasite: He steals Earth-1 Barry's speed to be faster and to ensure that it is him who does the sacrifice.
* PungeonMaster: As The Flash.
* RedIsHeroic: His costume is bright crimson.
* RelatedInTheAdaptation: His older brother Jay is a re-imagined Jay Garrick, the first Flash who is not related by blood to Barry in the comics. Likewise, it's revealed that he ultimately marries Tina [=McGee=].
* RemakeCameo: A literal example, since a still from this show is glimpsed by the Barry [[Series/TheFlash2014 of the 2014 series]] when he's traveling to Earth-2. (His chest lightning orientation is the same as the Reverse-Flash's unlike in his show, but this is likely a goof due to the still being flipped).
* {{Retcon}}: In his series, he didn't use the Speed Force, but his integration into the Arrowverse changes that.
* ScienceHero: When he couldn't handle criminals with his speed alone, he and Tina often devised strategies and solutions through science.
* SoleSurvivor: Of the Earth-90 superheroes after the Monitor laid waste to it. All the other heroes including the Ray, Green Arrow, and Hawkgirl are dead.
* SuperSpeed: His main and most basic ability.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: He stands 6'1.
* TheyDo: ''Series/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths2019'' reveals that he eventually did get together with Tina, though she has died in the interim.
* TogetherInDeath: He reunites with his late wife Tina when he gives his life up to negate the antimatter cannon's destruction mechanism.
* TwoFirstNames: Per the Creator/DCComics norm.
* UncertainDoom: At Earth-1, he tries to run after the Monitor, but the latter sends him into a portal, which left his fate unknown until he was revealed to return for Crisis.
* TheUnfavorite: His dad always gave him a hard time for being a forensic scientist instead of a cop like his older brother, Jay.
* UniquenessDecay: Started off as the only hero of Earth-90. In the TimeSkip between the show's cancellation and ''Series/{{Elseworlds|2018}}'', dozens of heroes show up.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: Again, with Tina [=McGee=].
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: It's implied the Monitor sends him back to Earth-90, but it's not entirely confirmed. His fate is eventually revealed in Series/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths2019: the Anti-Monitor captured him and is using him to power a multiverse-eradicating machine.
* YouFightLikeACow: Loves mixing this with puns when facing the villains.

* AdaptationalJerkass: Unlike many versions of the character, he is portrayed as kind of a douche towards Barry.
* AdaptationalJobChange: In the comics, he's a doctor.
* AlternateSelf: A very interesting example. His [[Characters/ArrowverseWestAllenFamily counterpart on at least one Earth]] looks a lot like his son Barry instead of him.
* ForWantOfANail: For some reason, his counterparts on both Earths 1 and 2 physically resemble his son Barry instead of him.
* GenerationXerox: His sons joined the police force to follow his footsteps.
* GloryDays: He loves to relieve his days as a cop. In fact, one reason he favors Jay over Barry is because the former followed his footsteps as a patrol cop.
* HappilyMarried: To Nora.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: He has no idea that he can be a douche to his younger son at times.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He can be a douche to Barry at times, but his love for him is unquestionable.
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: After Jay's death.
* ParentalFavoritism: Blatantly favors Jay over Barry.
* RatedMForManly: The reason for his favoritism towards Jay is because he's a former patrol cop like him, as he doesn't view forensic scientists like Barry as "real" police men/women.
* RelatedInTheAdaptation: His eldest son Jay is a re-imagined Jay Garrick, the first Flash who is not related by blood to Barry in the comics. Likewise, it's revealed that Barry ultimately marries Tina [=McGee=], making her Henry's daughter-in-law in this incarnation.

* ActionDad: He's a patrol cop and has two children.
* BadassNormal: He's a seasoned police officer who took down several criminals in his career.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Is aware that Barry is being snubbed by their father because of him, so he always makes sure that Barry knows someone appreciates him and doesn't let him get affected negatively by their father's unappreciative attitude.
* BigBrotherWorship: Barry loves Jay dearly despite being negatively compared to him by their father for most of their lives.
* DeadAlternateCounterpart: For Jay Garrick from ''Arrowverse'' Earth-3.
* DeathByAdaptation: He was killed by Pike to give Barry a DeathByOriginStory. In the comics, Jay Garrick remains well despite Barry becoming The Flash.
* DeathByOriginStory: His death is what pushed Barry to become The Flash.
* HappilyMarried: He had a wife and two kids.
* NiceGuy: He always looks out for Barry (see above).

* AlternateSelf: Has one on [[Series/TheFlash2014 Earth-1]].
* BettyAndVeronica: The Betty to Iris West's Veronica, due to being the more modest one.
* BusCrash: Barry speaks about her using past tense during ''Crisis on Infinite Earths'', effectively confirming she died during the events leading up to ''Series/Elseworlds2018'', if not when Earth-90 was destroyed by antimatter.
* CharacterFocus: During "Tina, Is That You?"
* DeadAlternateCounterpart: She died earlier than Earth-1 Tina.
* DeadpanSnarker: Sometimes, towards Barry, whose bullheaded penchant for sacrificial heroism often clashes with her safer, scientific by-the-book methodology.

* TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou: :His entire shtick is that he can hack television broadcasts, and once he becomes a living consciousness stuck in a TV, he ''hacks into The Flash's show itself'' during the credits of his episode

* HumanPopsicle: He put himself in frozen hibernation for 35 years.

A psychopathic and delusional mass murderer and con artist.

-> see the Characters/ArrowverseCentralCityCriminalGroups page for more info on his Earth-1 counterpart
-> see the Characters/ArrowverseOtherEarths page for more info on his Earth-3 counterpart
----
* AdaptationalJerkass: Like Captain Cold, the comics Trickster was a perfectly sane bank robber. This version pretty much served as a dry run for Hamill voicing ComicBook/TheJoker in ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'', being an elusive MasterOfDisguise and SerialKiller across six different states.
* AlliterativeName: If you don't count "Montgomery". Also, '''T'''he '''T'''rickster.
* AxCrazy: He is quite psychopathic.
* TheBluebeard: Strongly implied by the cops who arrested him, since he apparently murdered twelve other women he'd apparently claimed affection for and nearly killed Megan Lockhart when playing a magician.
* BreakoutVillain: Was popular enough to be completely transplanted into [[Recap/TheFlash2014S1E17Tricksters the Flash remake]], with the same actor and backstory, even including photos of his appearances in the 1990 series.
* CastingGag: An obscure in-joke. In the comics, Jesse is known for wearing shoes that allow him to [[StarWars walk in the sky.]]
* EvilIsHammy: He has a high tendency on ChewingTheScenery.
* GadgeteerGenius: The reason he's such a threat. He can apparently turn usually harmless toys and tools into deadly weapons and traps using his own skill with mechanics and technology similar to Jigsaw from the ''Franchise/{{Saw}}'' series.
* PracticallyJoker: Exaggerated from his comic self, and it'd be a characterization shared [[Series/TheFlash2014 in the 2014 series]]. Like the Joker, he constantly reinvents himself and can go from a villainous terrorist or concert pianist if it fits his fancy. In fact, Mark Hamill would later go on to become who many people find to be the definitive Joker voice actor.
* PsychologicalProjection: He despises the idea of being normal and forgotten. There's a scene where he ''refuses'' to let the helpless Flash be unmasked and, slowly looking away and retreating to something else, he claims that without the mask, he's nothing, or more particularly:
-->"He ''is'' the mask! Without the mask, he's... nothing! Bupkis! Nada! Zip! Just some boring, average, insignificant jerk nobody who cares about... he'll die alone, and forgotten, watching game shows in an empty apartment... with cats." [snapping at his sidekick] "So you touch that mask again, I'll '''MURDER''' ya." [smile] "'kay?"
* RenaissanceMan: A skilled engineer, master of disguise, mechanic, and orator among other things. His ability to pass himself off as a lawyer, doctor, and almost get himself [[NoodleIncident elected mayor of San Antonio]] shows he's as versatile as he is dangerous.
* StalkerWithACrush: Obsessed with Megan Lockhart and kidnaps her to be his fantasy sidekick, Prank. After killing the Flash, he planned on forcing Megan on a "[[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil romantic honeymoon]]" before presumably disposing of her.
* TheTrickster: He's the trope personified.

----
! Earth-90

[[folder: In General]]
* AlternateSelf:
* InSpiteOfANail: Despite the differences, certain things and events in this universe still align with those in the other Series/{{Arrowverse}} multiverse in one form or another;
** Much like on Earth-1, Barry Allen is still The Flash, a forensic scientist for the CCPD, and got his SuperheroOrigin in a FreakLabAccident involving a lightning.

* BelligerentSexualTension: With Tina [=McGee=].
* CompositeCharacter:
* MrFanservice: He occasionally has {{Shirtless Scene}}s.
* PungeonMaster: As The Flash.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: He stands 6'1.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Even as the head of the city, he is still able to dish out punishment.
* BadBoss: Had one of his men killed when he [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere tries to leave]].
* BadassBiker: A former patrol cop and now leads a gang of bikers.

* CorruptCop: How he is before Jay exposed him.
* {{Dystopia}}: What he wants to happen to Central City.

* FromNobodyToNightmare: From a police officer to ''mayor'' in the BadFuture.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Has a facial scar at the left side of his face.
* TheLeader: Of the bikers gang of Central City.
* MayorPain: In "Flash Forward".
* SleevesAreForWimps: He normally wear tanktops.
* SmugSnake: He's a little too full of himself for his own good, to the point he'll underestimate who he's going up against to his downfall.
* StarterVillain: The very first major villain in the series.
* TokenMotivationalNemesis: Him killing Jay is what led Barry to become the Flash.

A [[HollywoodHacking hacker]] from the mid-1950's, who thawed in the early 90s, and is an expert in broadcast television.
----
* ArchEnemy: Nightshade.
* TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou: :His entire shtick is that he can hack television broadcasts, and once he becomes a living consciousness stuck in a TV, he ''hacks into The Flash's show itself'' during the credits of his episode
* HollywoodHacking: The most obvious example is that he can apparently turn televisions into cameras, despite the [=TV=]s of that era not having that ability because there were no inbuilt cameras and microphones to hack into.
* HumanPopsicle: He put himself in frozen hibernation for 35 years.
* MayDecemberRomance: One of his less villainous traits is his devotion to his girlfriend from the '50s, even though he hasn't aged in the '90s thanks to cryo-sleep, but she's now nearing the end of middle age.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Used the offensive term "colored" when he learns Nightshade is African-American.
* VillainOfAnotherStory: He had run-ins with his nemesis Nightshade prior to both of their introductions to the show.
* {{Zeerust}}: His idea of the 1990's, while he was living in 1955.

----
* AntiHero: And quickly becomes an AntiVillain.
* ArchEnemy: Nightshade takes it personally that someone has taken up his mantle to do evil.
* {{Expy}}:
** An obvious one to Nightshade, to the point where characters get confused why he keeps alternating between shooting at and helping the Flash.
** Also one to Helena Bertinelli/The ComicBook/{{Huntress}}, another "superhero" who outright kills the bad guys.
* HeroWithAnFInGood: His actions as a "hero" to Central City nearly leads to a police manhunt on ''every'' active hero operating there, angry that their superheroes were now murdering criminals.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Embraces this completely.
* LegacyCharacter: The second person to take up the "Nightshade" mantle, but the first to start killing.
* MeaningfulName: "Deadly Nightshade" is the nickname for a type of plant that kills whoever eats it.
* MeaningfulRename: He's added the prefix "Deadly-" to "Nightshade" since he chooses to outright murder criminals instead of apprehending them.
* NominalHero: He wants to take down criminals, but that's the only "heroic" quality of his.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He has extreme ways of getting rid of criminals, including nearly killing the original Nightshade when he won't assist in the crusade.

* AlliterativeName: '''S'''am '''S'''cudder, aka '''M'''irror '''M'''aster.
* BadassInANiceSuit: Wears a suit in combat.
* ForWantOfANail: For some reason, his Earth-1 counterpart is played by Grey Damon instead of David Cassidy[[note]]And with Cassidy's death in late 2017, another version of this particular Sam Scudder is unlikely to appear[[/note]].

* AdaptationalJerkass: This Captain Cold is a hitman, not a bank robber.
* AlliterativeName: As '''C'''aptain '''C'''old.
* BadassInANiceSuit: Wears a suit in combat.
* BadassLongcoat: It goes well with the aforementioned nice suit.
* BusCrash: His corpse is seen in the ''Elseworlds'' event in Earth-90.
* CompositeCharacter: His appearance and attitude puts him closer to Mr. Freeze than Leonard Smart.
* ForWantOfAnail: For some reason, his counterparts from Earths 1 and X are both played by Creator/WentworthMiller instead of Michael Champion.
* FreezeRay: His main weapon.
* HeelFaceTurn: Apparently happened at some point after the series end, as he's shown as part of the group of defeated heroes that fought with Barry against the Monitor.

* CloningBlues: He's a rather unstable clone of Barry, and hates being referred to as "fake".
* EvilKnockoff: He's created to combat Barry.
* HeroicSacrifice: He ultimately gives his life to save Barry from a bullet.
* InSpiteOfANail: On Earth-1, Barry / The Flash also got an EvilKnockoff with ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming and blue ColorMotif who died after being shot.
* {{Manchild}}: Came out of the cloning process fully adult, but with the mind of a child. Shown when he was learning with blocks and found out they made an interesting noise when breaking glass; commenced to throw all his blocks through the glass of the lab he was in.
* MeaningfulName: Named after the Greek/Roman mythological figure who gave his immortality to save his brother, Pollux ultimately dies by TakingTheBullet for Barry.
* PsychopathicManchild: Think of Barry but with a mentality of a child who's always throwing tantrums.
* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: Named after one half of the twin half-brothers from Greek/Roman Mythology.
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: Originally created to be an EvilKnockoff, he ultimately gave his life for Barry.
* RequiredSecondaryPowers: ZigZagged. He can resist friction and other negative factors while running, but not as potently as the real Barry. Running too fast ultimately makes his body spontaneously combust.
* RousseauWasRight: An EvilKnockoff literally created to fight Barry, but he is not shown to be an outright malicious person, and Barry's kindness ultimately rubs on him.

Jay Allen is not an adaptation of Jay Garrick. He simply shares the same first name as him because he was named after him. They have completely different backgrounds from jobs to family life and overall they have nothing in common whatsoever. Also, he can’t be a composite character with Malcolm Thawne because Malcolm was invented long after the show had ended.

** An interesting case involving the Allen family, Jay Garrick, Iris West, Leonard Snart, Linda Park, and Sam Scudder, as they are not played by the same actors there.
*** Creator/JohnWesleyShipp is the most notable example. He plays Barry Allen in this universe, whereas the Earths 1 and 2 versions are both played by Creator/GrantGustin. He also plays the Earth-1 Henry Allen and the Earth-3 Jay Garrick, but their respective counterparts on this Earth are played by Creator/MEmmetWalsh and Tim Thomerson.

* AlternateSelf: A very interesting example. He has two namesakes with the exact same background on [[Characters/ArrowverseWestAllenFamily two]] [[Characters/ArrowverseEarth2 different]] {{Alternate Universe}}s, but physically he looks exactly like the two's respective fathers and [[Characters/ArrowverseOtherEarths another different person who's supposed to be his older brother's counterpart]].

-> see the Characters/ArrowverseOtherEarths page for more info on Jay Garrick, the Earth-3 character who bears his first name and comicbook connections

* AdaptationNameChange: To accommodate him and the Allens being RelatedInTheAdaptation.
* AdaptationSpeciesChange: Metahuman in the comicbooks. Here, he's a normal human [[BadassNormal who is]] a BadassBiker.
* AlternateSelf: A very interesting example. His [[Characters/ArrowverseOtherEarths counterpart on at least one Earth]] looks a lot like his brother Barry instead of him.
* BadassBiker: He's a patrol cop who rides a bike and is pretty badass.

* CompositeCharacter: Also with Malcolm Thawne, Barry's twin brother in the comics who's the ancestor of the Reverse-Flash.

* ForWantOfANail: For some reason, his physical counterpart on Earth-3 physically resembles his brother Barry instead of him.

* RelatedInTheAdaptation: Jay Garrick, the first Flash, is not related by blood to Barry Allen in the comics. Doubly so when it's revealed that Barry ultimately marries Tina [=McGee=], making her Jay's sister-in-law.
* TwoFirstNames: Per the Creator/DCComics norm. Also thanks to RelatedInTheAdaptation induced AdaptationNameChange (see above).
