* UnwittingPawn: To Finitevus during the events leading up to the "Enerjak Reborn" arc - he thought his power would be returned to him, but Finitevus was just using him to figure out how to turn someone else into Enerjak.

For quite a long time, he was simply a petty self-obsessed recurring nuisance who would spawn many a ClearMyName plot and occasionally team up with a more legitimately threatening villain... until exposure to the Master Emerald turned him green and evoked a major [[TookALevelInBadass attitude adjustment]], leading him to reinvent himself as "Scourge", a more truly ''psychotic'' version of the main character who ascended into a position of formidable antagonist in his own right. He's become a flagship Archie "original" character (the first to get his own 4-issue ''Sonic Universe'' arc) and is a major BaseBreaker.

* AbortedArc: The last we see of him is that he and his gang had broken out of jail and wound up back his dimension. Fiona mentions they had to do something for Dr Finitevus which Scourge was needed for. But he stated he had his own plans in mind. However, due to the CosmicRetcon, we'll never get to see either of these come to fruition.

Lien-Da seizes the opportunity to betray her (though that problem Regina does manage to solve by knocking Lien-Da out but this forces the Legion to flee as a result), the Iron King is sent flying through the stratosphere by Ken, Snively turns tail and goes crawling back to Eggman leaving her to fend for herself against the Freedom Fighters. She tries one last feeble attack by using the nanites to turn into a dragon. But when it's clear she's outnumbered and outgunned by the heroes, she tries to retreat, only for Sonic to stop her and drop her right in the middle of the Freedom Fighters to which she's quickly arrested. Born with the name Jun Kun, he was initially a petty warlord with aims of conquering the Dragon Kingdom, and allowed the technomage Regina Ferrum to live in his territory so long as she used her powers to serve his purposes. The two eventually became partners, but even with Regina's powers they proved unable to hold on to power or conquer either the Free People of the Kingdom or the Ninja Clans they warred against. This changed once they received backing from Dr. Robotnik to become Sub-Bosses, establishing the Iron Dominion and conquering the Free Peoples even though the Ninja Clans still escaped their influence. He would later join the Iron Queen in trying to take Eggman's empire for their own, clashing with Sonic and the Freedom Fighters several times before finally being defeated along with the Iron Queen. His current whereabouts are unknown.

* ALoadOfBull: Rather self-evident.
* ATwinkleInTheSky: How he's finally defeated when Ken breaks out a mystical fan he had thought hidden away. With one sweep, Ken sends him flying right out of the kingdom.

* TheBrute: Could be the poster child for this position in the comics, being big on brawn and possessing little in the way of brains.

It wasn't until after the failed Iron Dominion invasion in New Mobotropolis that, through his magical manipulation, he was finally able to become king -- with a little help from Geoffery St. John.

Thanks to his status as a SatAM character rather than a comic-original, he was one of the few (and so far only) major non-video game villains to make it past the reboot.

* AbortedArc: Had one going with his becoming king of New Mobotropolis and his growing insanity thanks to his powers. But due to the second Genesis Wave (and in real life, the matter when Ken Penders) all of that was retconned away and he just up and flees the kingdom due to the below-mentioned shock.

Plotting to overthrow King Acorn long before Robotnik came along, Kodos conspired with Ixis Naugus towards this end and even helped him drive the kindly Nate Morgan out of the Kingdom. Later, with the help of Naugus, he would orchestrate the Great War, and was eventually betrayed and banished to the Zone of Silence by Julian, where he would become a lackey of Naugus. After escaping the Zone of Silence, Kodos went solo, clashing several times with Sonic and the Freedom Fighters and as well trying to capture the Sword of Acorns. Eventually driven mad by the irradiated environment of Robotropolis and died falling into a crevice.

* AnAxeToGrind: His weapon of choice.
* AxCrazy: Became this eventually. By the time of his final appearance he had been driven completely mad, with an obsessive focus on the Sword of Acorns.

She tries one last feeble attack by using the nanites to turn into a dragon. But when it's clear she's outnumbered and outgunned by the heroes, she tries to retreat, only for Sonic to stop her and drop her right in the middle of the Freedom Fighters to which she's quickly arrested. And all of that in one issue. -Whistles-

This changed once they received backing from Dr. Robotnik to become Sub-Bosses, establishing the Iron Dominion and conquering the Free Peoples even though the Ninja Clans still escaped their influence. He would later join the Iron Queen in trying to take Eggman's empire for their own, clashing with Sonic and the Freedom Fighters several times before finally being defeated along with the Iron Queen. His current whereabouts are unknown.

* ATwinkleInTheSky: How he's finally defeated when Ken breaks out a mystical fan he had thought hidden away. With one sweep, Ken sends him flying right out of the kingdom.

* TooDumbtoLive: Post-Genesis Wave Team Hooligan is hired to get the Chaos Emerald before the Chaotix in Sonic Universe 64 by Eggman. Nack is not ignorant to the fact of what kind of person Eggman is and have been betrayed by him before and once was almost killed by him and yet he still takes jobs from him. Bark seems to be the only person who sees this as a problem.

One's an [[TalkativeLoon overtalkative]], more-than-slightly bonkers duck who can [[MadBomber spontaneously generate bombs]]; the other's a [[TheVoiceless mute]], [[TheBigGuy hefty]] polar bear. Together, they cause crime. Usually in the employ of another villain, Bean and Bark don't seem to carry any sort of grudge against the heroes, and are mostly in it to earn a quick buck and have fun.

* AffablyEvil: They aren't particularly malicious and don't seem to hold their various defeats or imprisonments against the heroes much. Bean in particular is often very friendly in his... extremely odd way.

* EarlyBirdCameo: Bean (or perhaps an ancestor) in #50. Their first official appearance is #160.

* OnlySaneMan: Bark especially in Sonic Universe 64 were he, for the first time ever, expresses having a problem with obtaining an Emerald and working for Eggman. He's right because a) Eggman is known for betraying people he does not need and b) the world is in chaos and Eggman is the last person you want to go to for help.
* RedOniBlueOni: Bean is the red oni to Bark's blue oni.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Cream attempts to get Bean and Bark to help out when Sally and Amy come under attack by Metal Sonic. Instead, they bolt when Cream reveals she can't pay them.
* SuperStrength: Applies to Bark. ''The Complete Sonic Comic Encyclopedia'' confirms he is the third strongest Mobian alive with Mighty the Armadillo in second place, and Big the Cat in first.

* TokenGoodTeammate: Bark. Sort of. While Bean falls in the dead center of neutral and Nack is the most malicious of them, Bark is starting to show some moral problems with working for and/or helping Eggman, a known villian and the most evil person on the planet.

A group of freedom fighters who originally fought against Robotnik's tyranny in Sand Blast City. However, after the Robians were de-roboticized, they revealed that the fighting [[HeWhoFightsMonsters had left them self-centered, cruel, and prejudiced]]; they treated the former robians so badly that they ''willingly'' returned to Eggman and signed on as members of his Dark Egg Legion to defend themselves.

* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Let's just say they're not the most morally upright Freedom Fighter group.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Their prejudice against and mistreatment of the ex-Robians in Sand Blast City is what drove them to join the Dark Egg Legion in the first place.
