* LateCharacterSyndrome: Feinne suffers the most from this trope because she only joins the roster in the postgame and the tome to upgrade her is obtained from a Very Hard Another Dungeon. A player who has made it this far would likely already have a better healer and Feinne's kit doesn't offer enough to compensate for her shortcomings. Her Valor Chant also cannot be upgraded. Future updates promise 5-star upgrades for storyline characters, but Feinne is the only one who hasn't had that perk yet.

A student at IDA Academy who was hospitalized for an unknown illness. In the peak of her despair, she, like Saki, ate a dark apple, creating her Dream World in which she can live without being impaired by it.

* IllGirl: The despair stemming from her condition drove her to consume the dark apple.

* TheAce: One of the best students at the Academy. Even the other elites in the student council look up to her.

A group of seven tribal sisters connected to the various colors of the rainbow.

An all-female group of seven knights who wander the lands of Miglance.

A group of seven combat androids with unknown origins and only faint memories of who they are.

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He lets Aldo and his friends access the Xeno-Domain at will (somthing only KMS higher-ups can do, for short periods of time) and use his personal teleporter since they're the only people who have a cue about how to stop the Phantom and thus prevent damge and loss of life to Elzion.

At first, the only one is the timid loner and later "volunteered" mayor Marlowe, but soon others join: hotheaded carpenter Terry, spacey bard Henry, stern metalworker Rebecca, frail vagrant Sylvia, [[{{Pun}} bombastic]] explosive technician Hilda, grumpy mastersmith Gordon, [[spoiler: Mona, the daughter of Terry and Sylvia]], cranky old lady Grace [[spoiler: and Good Macky]].

* PowerIncontinence: She can't control her powers, and nearly hurt one of her friends.

* {{Joshikousei}}: Her use of a whip, elegant but stern looks, love to inflict pain on her opponents and students (and, funnily enough, enjoying being on the receiving side as well) gives this vibe.

One of the best knights during Miyu's childhood. Having lost an eye in battle, he attempts to retire. The king reached a compromise with him, assigning him to look after the young Princess Miyu. Once Miyu grew up and could take care of herself, Bertrand left royal service and became a mercenary.

* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: She uses [[WhipItGood whips]] in battle, but since that weapon class is not available in-game, her specific weapon is fists. Almost all her attacks, including her normal attack, are piercing rather than blunt to reflect the use of her whip.

* DegradedBoss: [[spoiler:When going through Levia's character quests, the player will get into fights with the Leviathan again. However, it's level 30 this time, and a lot easier to beat than its level 90 form. Things get a little complicated when there are two Leviathans duking it out.]]

* ADayInTheLimelight: v1.5.500 adds the "Little Princess' Little Big Adventure" questline, focused entirely around her childhood and granting her a new class upgrade to boot.

* [[ChickMagnet Dude Magnet]]: She has been cursed since her childhood to have men fall for her at first sight, which drove her out of her hometown and forced her to be a wanderer.

* AbusiveParent: Saki's father used her a test subject, after driving away her brother by doing the same thing to him.
* AnIcePerson: Her father's experiments gave her ice powers. Her Dream World is a frozen version of her school.
* EnemyWithout: Because she's trapped in a world based around her mind, her subconscious is able to manifest as a physical entity will do whatever it takes to keep her asleep.
* GuineaPigFamily: Her father was successful in his experiment to turn her into a living weapon, granting her great power at the cost of her no longer being able to live a normal life.
* HopeIsScary: One of her subconscious projections is the embodiment of her hope. The rest of her subconscious tries to repress this side of her, because she believes that hope causes more pain than it's worth.
* PowerIncontinence: She can't control her powers, and nearly hurt one of her friends.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Gordon doesn't give a shit about anything but his work and himself once his work is done, and won't hesiste to tell you. But he accepts without saying it explicitely to take Terry as his apprentice in order to rebuild the bridge, bridge that he decided to rebuild ''just'' because he heard Aldo talk about it. [[spoiler:He also carves a gravestone for Sylvia so she won't be forgotten.]]

* StuffBlowingUp: Hilda's bread and butter. Her only job is to cook up bombs to clear rubble in the mines and, according to a fisherman, caused a gigantic fire at the Rinde docks.

* LethalJokeCharacter: Tank characters are usually disliked for their slow speed and low damage output in a game where hitting fast and hard is key to win. But against opponents who can OneHitKill with standard attacks, their ability to DrawAggro and reinforce the team's defense can be the difference between losing the battle or holding your ground.
* TheMario: Sword and Hammer users are rather balanced in terms of attack, defense, MP pools and speed.

* ComicallyMissingThePoint: When Felmina has the bright idea to stop a tantrum from Miyu by knocking the daylights out of her, Bertrand vehemently objects. On the grounds that you can't hit the princess.

* LongLostRelative: [[spoiler:She's Annabel's sister, but doesn't remember it due to Verweil messing with her memories.]]

Sevyn is a studen at IDA Academy, but he rarely attends classes. He's arrogant and brash, perhaps because he's one of the few remaining shamans in Elzion, and can use magic without the aid of prisma. He'd never admit that he'd like to find someon who can challenge and/or accept him.

* BoyfriendBluff: A classmate claims to be Sevyn's girlfriend to scare off an admirer. Sevyn has no interest in playing along, and would've walked away if the other guy hadn't accused his powers of being fake.
* {{Delinquents}}: Doesn't respect authority, doesn't show up to class, and doesn't wear a school uniform.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: He wears a jacket with no shirt.

* FunetikAksent: She has a noticeable Southern twang peppered with British slang in her lines. Oddly, nobody else in the Dragon Palace does it, except the Sea Turtles (who have a Cockney one).

Unlike most other characters listed here, Levia can only be obtained after fishing up the four Lake Lords across the game world and confronting and defeating the unsealed Leviathan for good. As the ultimate prize of the FishingMinigame, Levia also is a guaranteed 5-star character, and doesn't require any tomes to unlock her full potential.

* AlternateIdentityAmnesia: [[spoiler:She serves as the Leviathan's brain, but cannot retain any memory of the destruction it causes while it's made manifest.]]
* LastOfHerKind: The All-Knowing Ammonite recalls that her race was wiped out over 900 years ago, making Levia the only surviving member.

This changes [[spoiler:once Otohime absorbs the power of Leviathan and the guards realize their cowardice.]]
* AnimalMotifs: Squids. Her nickname is "Squid" and her hat and pants evoke a squid's head and tentacles.
* BigEater: She eats whenever she can, and a part of her loyalty to the Otohime is because he fed her.
* HeelFaceTurn: She used to work for the Otohime in the past, but switches sides to help Sheila.
* QuestForIdentity: After the issues with Otohime are dealt with, Nagi goes on a quest to discover her past.

A lively woman who hates having to think about things. This causes her to act naive, and also somewhat blunt and violent. When she puts her mind to something, she can never let go of it. She likes sea turtles and is connected to the Dragon Palace somehow.

* TheGoodKing: He is much more of a warmonger than King Miglance, but he does what he does to make sure humans won't suffer at the hands of the Ogres. He also quickly trusts Aldo and his team when they defeat some ogres in front of him and is ''amazed'' at how Unigan is beautiful and how the human race prospered without the Ogres breathing down their necks.

* HotBlooded: The Synth Cannon, the main weapon of the Riftbreaker, always ramble about how he wants to blow up and shootstuff, even after he joins you.

* PowerIncontinence: She can't control her powers, and hurt one of her friends.

* NightmareFetishist: Henry gets jolts of inspiration from his phobias of fear and darkness. The latter causes him to act like he's possessed, freaking out Aldo and Amy in the process.

* TheBigGuy: She uses fists as her weapons and is the quickest to anger or suggest direct action.

A brilliant scientist from the future that worked on the Xeno-Crystal Project. He went missing years ago, along with his entire family. [[spoiler: He really sent himself into the past to try and change history.]]

* CoolMask: Wears one as [[spoiler: the Oracle. It's to hide the horrid radiation burns on his face from his experiments.]]
* IgnoredExpert: [[spoiler:He knew the Xeno-Crystal was unstable and wanted to focus on the Geo-Crystal instead. He got ignored, since the Xeno-Crystal provided more energy.]]
* LukeIAmYourFather: [[spoiler: Or rather, cat owner.]]
* SoProudOfYou: He tells Aldo that he's glad that Aldo foiled his plan earlier, and how happy he is with how Aldo grew up [[spoiler: during his dying speech, since he mistook Aldo for his son.]]

A king from the present era who rules over Miglance, the nation Baruoki is apart of.

* MagneticHero: He's able to attract a lot of allies to join him in his quest, especially once you count the player characters gotten through dreams. This includes people who would be mortal enemies such as Miyu ([[spoiler:King Miglance's daughter]]) and Shion ([[spoiler:a samurai on a mission to assassinate King Miglance]])

He calls himself a simple lumberjack, but his intense stare and disciplined stance give off an intimitading aura. He seems strongly interested in living a normal life, despite seeming to have no idea what normal actually is.

An agent working for the Elzion Judiciary. He's smart with a strong sense of justice and self-confidence, using his skills in data analysis to help his investigations. He's often seen with two pods. Clock, the black pod, is for processing information. Retro, the white pod, is for...special tasks.

* SupportPartyMember: He is half this, half regular DPS.

An archer in the same Baruoki guard unit as Aldo. Born into a proud hunting family, he is most at home in the forest with a bow in his hand. Though usually dependable, he hates needless loss of life, likely because of his upbringing as a hunter.

A sea-faring pirate endlessly seeking freedom. Born into a noble family, Denny rebelled against his father and ran away. The epitome of confidence, he likes to look after the weak and he is beloved wherever he goes. He is known as a womanizer.

A shaman with strong supernatural powers. However it seems she won't use them for her own benefit, and will only use them to help others. She has been seen at times just talking to thin air. Despite being born into a wealthy merchant family, she's not so good at managing her finances.

A shady-looking weapons broker. He deals in possessed blades, demon swords and other curious weaponry. He is very harsh toward customers who have no experience in handling evil weapons. He's been looking for one particular weapon for years.

* YamatoNadeshiko: Her sprite and use of a naginata gives this vibe, even if she's too rebellous to actually be one.

* ExtremeOmnivore: He will anything anything remotely edible at least once, even if it's a monster that damages his cookware from even attempting to cook it.

* Earlier on, it states that it's helping Aldo because the beasts destroyed the ogres. It's later revealed that it was lying, that humans destroyed the ogres, and it's just using Aldo to get its revenge.

* FunetikAksent: She has a noticeable Australian twang in her lines. Oddly, nobody else in the Dragon Palace does it, except the Sea Turtles (who have a Cockney one).

* YouCantFightFate: It flat out tells [[spoiler:the Ogre Lord]] that it's their destiny to die at the hand of the humans (being the ''living proof'' of it) and nothing can change that.

* TakeAThirdOption: He can't disobey his lord's orders because it would shame him and his lord, but he can't carry them because it would shame his bloodline [[spoiler: since killing King Miglance would cause war between Miglance and the Eastern Lands]]. So he [[spoiler:attacks King Miglance but throws the fight everytime and reports that the king overpowered him]], knowing that he is too valuable to be allowed to commit {{Seppuku}}.
