!!General Tropes
* CombatMedic: Some offensive units have the ability to heal their allies without compensating on physical damage like their staff counterparts.
* ADayInTheLimelight: In several forms:
** Most characters except for some story-relevant ones (and the 3-star ComMons) have their own Character Quests. For 4-star characters, they're consisted of two parts, while for 5-star characters, they're consisted of 3 parts. Furthermore, the additional form of said characters (Another Style and Extra Style) also add another quest for each.
** In addition to their individual character quests, some characters may also be a lot more involved in the story through the Episodes and Mythos.
* DoubleUnlock: Certain 4-star characters who receive further upgrades from story chapters or side quests (for instance, Aldo, Amy, and Miyu) get involved with this trope. Completing the necessary quest or chapter makes their 5-star Ability board ''available''. You will still need to grind Another Dungeons to gather the necessary Psalms for them.
* FragileSpeedster: Bow users are very fast, but suffer from rather low defenses and somewhat lackluster attacks.
* GlassCannon: Katana users typically have a very high Physical Attack stat and the Speed to execute them quickly, but have below-average HP and defenses.
* IdleAnimation: Characters in your party have idle animations when you leave them standing for too long. The only ones who do not have one so far are Aldo and [[spoiler:Guildna]].
* LethalJokeCharacter: Tank characters are usually disliked for their slow speed and low damage output in a game where hitting fast and hard is key to winning. But against opponents whose standard attacks hit hard enough to deliver a OneHitKill, their ability to DrawAggro and reinforce the team's defense can be the difference between losing the battle or holding your ground.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Comes in several forms.
** Some characters break the standard weapon attack pattern by having differing attributes in some of their skills, or due to having different weapons altogether those do not quite fit the standard in-game classification. For example, Cerrine uses a whip but classified as Fist user instead, and therefore have attacks with both piercing and blunt attributes.
** Some of the later units specialize in Shade, Thunder, and Crystal -- three elements that were added in the game's later stages and operate outside the normal four members of the ElementalRockPaperScissors. They also have the Lunatic mechanic, which is a one-use temporary replacement of their normal attack that invokes a SuperMode for 3 turns.
** A few others such as AS Isuka cycles between forms and/or influenced by previous actions that gives different effects for their skills, making them tricky to use but powerful when done right.
* JackOfAllStats: Sword and Hammer users are rather balanced in terms of attack, defense, MP pools and speed.
* MightyGlacier: Ax users, and to a lesser extent Spear and Fist users, generally have great bulk and Attack, sacrificing Speed in the process.
* PlotTailoredToTheParty: Each major content update is accompanied by Encounters that introduce, or raise the rate of, characters who will be very helpful for it. For instance, Melina, Nonold and Zilva are all introduced just before the Time Mine update, and they have traits that speed up resource gathering.
* RePower: Another Style and Extra Style gives 5-star characters a different skillset and style, either reinforcing their existent role in a team or a whole new role. To hammer it home, while you can have both a vanilla and AS/ES character in your roster, you can't have both on your team.
* SquishyWizard: Offensive staff users have a very large Magic Attack stat and the MP to use their expensive spells frequently, but have the lowest HP and Physical Defense totals.
* VictoryPose: Your party members have this after winning any enemy encounter.

!!Story Characters
[[folder:Aldo/[[spoiler:Kyros Chronos/Sorik]]]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aldo_350_0.png]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KoukiUchiyama (Japanese), Jared Zeus (English)
The main character of Another Eden. Aldo and his sister, Feinne were raised by the mayor of Baruoki after being found in the Moonlight Forest. He always means well, although he doesn't always think things through to the fullest.
----
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Aldo is always willing to help anyone he meets with whatever they need help with, no matter how [[IrrelevantSidequest unimportant]] it may seem. Isuka lampshades it by calling Aldo a "busybody" to rib him a bit.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: The bell collar and the cat on his character illustration. [[spoiler:It's a hint about the fact that he's not Professor Chronos' son, but his cat.]]
* ForWantOfANail: [[spoiler:If Sorik the Baruoki cat didn't wander into a spacetime tear, he wouldn't have been adopted by the Chronos family as Kyros and turned into Aldo by the Geo Prisma]]. Without this turn of events, the whole plot would've been very different since Phantom's plan wouldn't have been kickstarted and Feinne would still be Guildna's prisoner..
* HeroesPreferSwords: He uses a sword, as is common for the main character in an RPG.
* MagneticHero: He's able to attract a lot of allies to join him in his quest, especially once you count the player characters gotten through dreams. This includes people who would be on bad terms (Deirdre [[spoiler:before TheReveal]] and Anabel), bitter rivals (Krervo and Nonold) or mortal enemies (Miyu and [[spoiler:Shion]])
* NiceGuy: Always willing to help out those in need. He's known as his hometown's golden boy for a reason.
* ObliviousToLove: Fan pairings aside, Aldo is none the wiser to the girls who fall for him throughout the game [[spoiler:such as Azami and Shanie]].
* OnlyTheChosenMayWield: He's the only one that can draw Ogre Rancorem, the weapon that provides the ability to use [[LimitBreak Another Force.]]
* PrimaryColorChampion: Wears a blue tunic and red cape.
* SuperMovePortraitAttack: As Aldo is the only character with the Protagonist personality type, he gets his own finisher if nobody else in the party is capable of a CombinationAttack at the end of a fully charged Another Force.
* TimeToUnlockMoreTruePotential: The Ogre Wars Part I arc has Aldo obtain the powers of the Dragon God, gaining a 5-star Ability Board in the process. [[DoubleUnlock You'll still need to gather the Memoirs to upgrade him.]]
* TomatoInTheMirror: Aldo learns from the phantom that he's [[spoiler:related to Professor Chronos of the future. Further investigation reveals that the Chronos's son is actually named Eden, not Aldo.]]
** Aldo later learns that [[spoiler: he misunderstood the phantom, and he's not actually Eden. He was actually the professor's cat, transformed into a replica of Eden. And ''then'' he learns he was actually Sorik, the cat one of the children in Baruoki lost at the beginning of the game, who walked into a spacetime tear and ended up with the Chronos family.]]
* UnexplainedRecovery: [[spoiler: After reverting back into a cat and merging with Eden, who then fades away, Aldo manages to return home and regain his human form.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Feinne/[[spoiler:Cecile Chronos]]]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/feinne_350.png]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/AiKayano (Japanese), Julie Rogers (English)
Feinne is Aldo's younger sister. She is kind, but perfectly willing to be forceful when she thinks it's needed. She's kidnapped near the start of the game by the Beast King, due to the mysterious power she has.
----
* AllLovingHero: Feinne believes in showing kindness to everyone, and will befriend beastfolk (a traditional enemy of humans) without batting an eye. Reading journals in the Beast King's castle reveal that she pleaded for mercy for a beast man that hit her.
* DamselInDistress: The Beast King kidnapping her sets Aldo's quest in motion.
* FusionDance: [[spoiler: She fuses with the Beast King's sister Altena, creating the monstrous Beast Angel Geo Anguirus.]]
* LateCharacterSyndrome: Feinne suffers the most from this trope because she only joins the roster after Chapter 25 and the tome to upgrade her is obtained from a Very Hard Another Dungeon. In comparison, the rest of the story cast have upgrade tomes that can be found in Hard Another Dungeons or Side Episodes, meaning they're likely already competent before the endgame. A player who has made it this far would likely already have a better healer (like Riica) and Feinne's kit doesn't offer enough to compensate for her shortcomings. Future updates promise 5-star upgrades for storyline characters, but Feinne is the only one who hasn't had that perk yet.
* MosesInTheBulrushes: Feinne was found abandoned in the woods as a baby. [[spoiler:Professor Chronos was planning on rewriting time, so he sent her back in time to prevent her from being erased with the rest of the future.]]
* MysticalWhiteHair: She has unusual story-relevant powers ([[spoiler:the prototype of the Geo Prisma]]) and silver hair that makes her stand out.
* SixthRanger: After the conclusion of part 1, she permanently joins the playable roster, functioning as such to the story's cast.
* WhiteMagicianGirl: She's kind, wields a staff, is specialized in healing magic, and shows a distinct domestic side.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Riica]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/riica_350.png]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/RieKugimiya (Japanese), Rebecca Kiser (English)
Riica is an all-purpose KMS android, whom Aldo meets during his first trip to the future.
----
* CombatMedic: She can use a mid-level healing spell, in addition to blunt and magical attacks.
* DeusExMachina: Literaly. Her [[SuperMode combat routine]] is called Deus Ex Machina Program.
* FlawedPrototype: She was built to be a helpful android at first, but KMS decided to turn her into a fighting unit instead. [[spoiler:Madoka Chronos tampered with her combat protocols to protest her being made into a weapon, causing various errors.]]
* InsistentTerminology: She is ''not'' a robot made of metal, but an all-purpose KMS android made of high-quality alloys, thank you very much.
* MegaTwintails: The two large antennas on each side of her head evoke this.
* NatureLovingRobot: She has the cat-lover trait, while being a robot.
* NoSenseOfDirection: Riica's GPS module tends to malfunction which wrecks havoc on her navigation abilities.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Her eyes are normally pink, but they turn red whenever she's angry or in combat mode.
* TheSmartGuy: Her massive database allows her to pull intel about almost everything.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Amy]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amy_350.png]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/RinaSato (Japanese), Janine Harouni (English)
Amy is a hunter from the future, who lost her mother when the synth-humans first declared war on the humans. She helps Aldo get his bearings after he gets stranded in the future.
----
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Her second quest has Amy and her father being interviewed by a journalist. Amy can only protest as her dad narrates all sorts of embarrassing moments of her childhood.
* TheBigGuy: She uses fists as her weapons and is the quickest to anger or suggest direct action.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: Her profile mentions that she burns half the food she cooks, which emphasizes her lack of femininity.
* PowerFist: Her weapon of choice. During her chapter, all available fist weapons even look distinctly mechanical.
* TomboyishPonytail: Wears her hair in an unkept ponytail, and is an ActionGirl specialized in martial arts.
* YouKilledMyFather: The war against the synth humans is personal to her, because of her mother's death.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Cyrus]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cyrus_350.png]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/ShigeruChiba (Japanese), Tim Watson (English)
Cyrus is a swordsman from antiquity who looks like a frog. He hid away in a swamp due to his cursed form, but Aldo persuades him to join his quest.
----
* AntiquatedLinguistics: His speech is very ornate even compared to characters of noble stock.
* BloodBrothers: [[spoiler:He was this with Varn, the other top student of their master. They had a fallout when Cyrus was entrusted with one half of the scroll containing the secret techniques of their fighting school, but were briefly reunited before Varn's death]].
* BloodKnight: His quote when facing a Horror is "I tremble with excitement!". And he is notably excited to see IDA School's sword training classes and to fight Anabel and her Holy Sword.
* {{Expy}}: A very clear one to Frog from ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger''. Cyrus even shares the name of Frog's fallen comrade.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Well he ''is'' a frog samurai, after all.
* TheLancer: Following's Amy's disappearance after defeating Galliard, he fills this role in Aldo's group.
* ObliviousToHisOwnDescription: His first quest has him surprised to hear about a strange green monster in the swamp. While it turned out to be someone impersonating him and not actually himself, Cyrus fails to notice any resemblance of the description to him.
* VagueAge: It's hard to tell due to his transformation, but he's estimed to be around 37 years old.
* VerbalTic: He croaks whenever he speaks.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Helena]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/helena_another_eden.png]]
Helena is a Synth Human, a special model designed by Professor Chronos himself. While she is Galliard's supporter, at heart she is a pacifist who wishes to co-exist with humanity.
----
* DefeatMeansFriendship: You have to fight her in a boss battle first before she joins you.
* GratuitousFrench: Randomly peppers in French in her speech.
* MidairBobbing: Helena floats all the time, and when she's not moving she'll bob up and down in place.
* SixthRanger: She's the last character to join your party save for the Episode protagonists and the only one not mentioned in the ads and trailers.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Guildna, the Beast King]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101800041_base.png]]
Guildna is king of the beast folk, a people descended from the elemental spirits. He kicks off the main plot by kidnapping Feinne, believing her to have the power that will allow him to destroy humanity. [[spoiler:After the power of the Geo Prisma resurrects him in his younger form, he decides to give up the war and find peace with the humans.]]
----
* TheAtoner: [[spoiler:After being resurrected by the Geo Prisma and told by Feinne to give up his warring ways, he decides to work towards peace between beastfolk and humanity with the help of Altena.]]
* ClimaxBoss: He is fought properly in Chapter 13, and his defeat concludes an important arc for Aldo.
* DefeatMeansPlayable: [[spoiler:A very delayed version of this trope, as Guildna is defeated in Chapter 13 but doesn't even join the roster as a guest until Chapter 28.]]
* DuelBoss: [[spoiler:In Chapter 32, the revived Guildna is forced to confront his past warmongering self. His victory unlocks a new Personality Trait that lets him perform his own finishing move.]]
* HopelessBossFight: The very first confrontation with him cannot be beaten. He knocks Aldo senseless but backs down once he notices the Ogre Rancorem.
* HPToOne: He has a move in the second phase of his boss fight that drops one party member's HP to 1% of their base health.
* KillAllHumans: His goal for his war against humanity.
* OneWingedAngel: Goes into this form for the second phase of his boss fight.
* PetTheDog: He plays with an abandoned baby Feinne, even before noticing she could useful to him.
[[/folder]]

!!Antagonists
[[folder:Vares]]
The Beast King's right-hand man.
----
* BarrierChangeBoss: His Otherlands fight is a lot tougher as he regularly switches the types of attacks he resists. Once he drops his resistance aura, though, it's a race to burst him down before a TotalPartyKill.
* TheDragon: To Guildna. He starts off by leading the attack on Baruoki to kidnap Feinne and is the first boss Aldo faces.
* EmbarrassingNickname: "Var-Var", courtesy of his sister Myrus.
* HalfIdenticalTwins: He's Myrus' twin brother.
* JapaneseBeetleBrothers: A one-man example. His horn evokes the Japanese stag beetle.
* HeroicBuild: [[spoiler: Even in his regular form, he's absolutely shredded.]]
* HulkingOut: Chapter 26 reveals his massive armored form is his "combat mode". [[spoiler: His real apparence is a ripped, but nerdy-looking beastfolk.]]
* KillAllHumans: His shared goal with Guildna.
* LargeHam: He gets carried away quite easily when he speaks in his battle form.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Galliard]]
The commander of the Synth Human army, cyborgs out to destroy humanity in the future.
----
* BadassBiker: Chases you down on a motorcycle for his boss fight.
* MotorcycleJousting: Once he takes enough damage, he rips off the machine gun on his bike and pulls out a giant electro lance to fight the player, while still riding his motorcycle.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He declared war on the humans, but only because he blames the humans for the time quakes and thinks violence is the only thing humans will listen to.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Altena]]
The Beast King's sister. [[spoiler: She actually met Aldo and Feinne years ago, when Feinne healed her leg.]]
----
* DamselInDistress: [[spoiler:She gets kidnapped twice during the Ogre Wars Part I arc -- first by the Berserk Geo Anguirus during the arc's final chapter, then by the Ogre clan to set up Part II.]]
* FusionDance: [[spoiler: Does one with Feinne, becoming Beast Angel Geo Anguirus.]]
* TastesLikeFriendship: After they become friends, she gives Fienne a plum mushroom.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Phantom]]
A mysterious being from beyond spacetime that's trying to destroy the universe.
----
* BigBad: It's his actions that drive the main plot the game.
* ITakeOffenseToThatLastOne: The phantom ignores Aldo calling him crazy, but objects to being accused of lying, since nothing it told Aldo was [[VillainsNeverLie actually false.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: He gives Aldo the goal to restore the destroyed future, [[spoiler: neglecting to tell him that doing so puts the whole universe at risk.]]
* OmnicidalManiac: His goal is to destroy the spacetime continuum.
* XanatosGambit: If he manages to defeat the heroes, the spacetime continuum will be destroyed. If he loses, [[spoiler:Chronos Menas will escape and corrupt the Prisma, leading to the same result]]. He even states that anything Aldo and team do when they one-up him is delay the inevitable.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:King Palsifal]]
A king from antiquity who's working with the Oracle. He recently lost his wife and child, which had not done great favors for his mental stability.
----
* DespairEventHorizon: He was already unstable when Aldo first met him, he completely loses what grasp on sanity he had after [[spoiler: the Tower of Time is shut down, denying him his choice of future.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: He's the person depicted in the statue in Aldo's hometown. [[spoiler: Though you can change that statue to one of Aldo.]]
* TheGoodKing: He used to be this until the death of his children drove him over the edge.
* OneWingedAngel: Transforms for his boss fight with you.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Chronos Menas/[[spoiler:Eden Chronos]]]]
[[spoiler: While traveling back in time with his family, Eden was separated from his family and lost to the abyss. After spending 16 years being corrupted by the darkness, he lost his humanity and was twisted into a monstrous form known as Chronos Menas.]]

Chronos Menas was released from his prison after the Phantom's defeat, taking the role of the final boss of part 1.
----
* AllYourPowersCombined: Scattered throughout the Dimensional Vortex are the Primal Elements. The player can ignore them as they proceed through the dungeon, but Chronos Menas will inherit the abilities of the Primal Elements that are not defeated. This includes [[PowerNullifier disabling Another Force]], [[HealingFactor constant regeneration]] and [[BarrierChangeBoss alternating between absorbing magical and physical attacks]]. Destroying him without breaking the Primal Elements nets you an achievement.
* AndIMustScream: He fell into the heart of the Dimensional Vortex, where he was imprisoned for over a decade in complete isolation.
* ApocalypseMaiden: He'll spread corruption he underwent in the abyss to all the prisma around him.
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: The second phase of his fight. After traveling through darkness inside him, the party finds what looks like a valley at sunrise, with the sun climbing higher over the mountains the more Aldo and Feinne's words reach him.
* BigBrotherInstinct: [[spoiler: He prevented Cecile from falling into the dimensional vortex, only to get trapped there himself.]]
* DyingAsYourself: [[spoiler: He manages to recover from his senses after his boss fight and say goodbye to his sister, before vanishing.]]
* GoMadFromTheIsolation: Eden was lost to the Dimensional Vortex when Professor Chronos tried to send his family to the past. Trapped in the void, Eden's mind was consumed by despair and madness, and he mutated into a abomination of chaos.
* LightDarknessJuxtaposition: Chronos Menas' outward appearence is dark and twisted. In the second phase, he's glowing and has buttefly wings. It contrasts what he truely is vs what he had become.
* NotQuiteSavedEnough: [[spoiler: After finally reaching him through an IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight, he DisappearsIntoLight. One of the SequelHooks is the party deciding to try to rescue him more thouroughly.]]
* PostFinalBoss: The second phase of the fight is a lot less difficult than the first, as his only attack will deal a miniscule amount of damage to the party.
* ThroatLight: The inside of Chronos Menas glows red and flickers like a furnace.
* VacuumMouth: After he takes enough damage during his first fight, he uses one these to just swallow the entire party.

[[folder:The 29th Otohime]]
The primary antagonist of ''The 1000 Year Ark of the Ocean Palace''. Otohime is the mysterious ruler of the Dragon Palace, who for some reason has ordered the sea turtles to abduct women from the shore. Otohime also wants to open something known as "Pandora's Box".
----
* AGodAmI: He declares himself to one when confronted after he [[spoiler: absorbs the power of Leviathan.]]
* PureIsNotGood: Part of the ritual to bond with the Otohime's trident involves bearing your heart in front of the citizens of the Dragon Palace. He passed this with flying colors using a "serve me or die" speech.
* {{Revenge}}: According to Nagi, his power hunger comes from wanting revenge against the western seas that banished him.
* SheIsTheKing: Otohime is a female title, but he uses it anyways because it was the title used by the previous ruler when he conquered the Dragon Palace.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Which is why Aldo and co. call him the "Half-Naked Guy" instead of Otohime.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Leviathan]]
A great monster sealed underwater within Pandora's Box, around which the Dragon Palace was founded. Its unsealing becomes the focus of the ''The 1000 Year Ark of the Ocean Palace'' conflict.
----
* BonusBoss: Serves as one to the FishingMinigame and the Dragon Palace Episode.
* DegradedBoss: [[spoiler:When going through Levia's character quests, the player will get into a fight with the Leviathan again. However, it's level 30 this time, and a lot easier to beat than its level 90 form. Things get a little complicated when there are two Leviathans duking it out.]]
* EvilIsNotAToy: An ancient civilization gained control of it and used it to repel their enemies. While successful, the Leviathan also wrought havoc on the civilization themselves, prompting them to seal it away.
* HealingFactor: Has a passive regeneration that makes it difficult to beat through attrition.
* RoboticReveal: [[spoiler:[=LeA-BAK=] reveals that Leviathan was created by Synth Humans as a backup battleship, but was lost to the distant past in a malfunction.]]
* SealedEvilInACan: The very thing encased within Pandora's Box.
* YouCantThwartStageOne: It is inevitable that Otohime successfully unseals it. While he is promptly defeated while wielding its power, the Leviathan manages to escape, and remains at large after the Episode's conclusion.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Zennon Ogre]]
The ruler of the Ogre race, who wants to eradicate humans in order to take over the world.
----
* BigBad: He takes the place of Phantom as the main villain of Arc 2.
* HostageForMacGuffin: [[spoiler:He demands that Guildna brings him the Elemental Arms in exchange for Altena's life.]]
* LargeAndInCharge: Averted. He's one head smaller than regular Ogres, making him a bit taller than Lokido or adult Guildna.
* ScrewDestiny: Even ''Ogre Rancorem itself'' telling him to his face that he will lose the war doesn't faze him or his plans in the slightest.
* YouHaveFailedMe: His introduction involves him destroying a group of ogres that the party defeated for being a group of useless idiots.
[[/folder]]

!![=NPCs=]
[[folder:Gallery Master]]
A mysterious individual who presided over the Gallery of Dreams, he grants Aldo the ability to call on allies from throughout time and space to aid him in his quest.

* GreaterScopeParagon: After the events of chapter 17, he appears to Aldo to spur him into action and can potentially protect him in battle.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ogre Rancorem]]
A powerful demon sword inhabited by the revengeful spirit of the defunct Ogre race. It wants to exact revenge on humanity, but is at the same time bound to help Aldo in his quest.
----
* DefeatMeansFriendship: For a given value of friendship, but once Aldo defeats it's manifestation, Ogre Rancorem grundgingly accepts to help him.
* LegendaryWeapon: Its history above already plays a big part in it, to the point Ewan claims he and Aldo would roll in cash if he finds a buyer for it. [[spoiler:The Ogre Wars reveal it's even older than that, being created by the [[{{Precursors}} Titans]]]].
* OddlyShapedSword: It's blade looks like a messy blue and red flame.
* OnlyTheChosenMayWield: Only Aldo can use it.
* TheReveal: [[spoiler:Ogre Rancorem is actually Palsifal's sword after being corrupted by the Ogres vengeful spirit.]] It's the encounter of both versions (Ogre Rancorem being carried by Aldo and [[spoiler:Palsifal's sword being carried by the Thunder King]]) at the place where the Ogres fell that causes their comeback.
** Earlier on, it states that it's helping Aldo because the beasts destroyed the ogres. It's later revealed that it was lying, that humans destroyed the ogres, and it's just using Aldo to get its revenge.
* YouCantFightFate: It flat out tells [[spoiler:Zennon Ogre]] that it's their destiny to die at the hand of the humans (being the ''living proof'' of it) and nothing can change that.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sebastia]]
A kid genius from Elzion and a close friend of Amy and Riica, as well as other important people.
----
* ChildProdigy
* ProperlyParanoid: Riica's second quest has her barricaded inside her house as she's persuaded that someone is following her. Aldo is at first dismissive, but it turns out she ''does'' have a stalker.
* SmartPeoplePlayChess: Her chess buddy is none other than the Administrator of Elzion.
* WrenchWench: Her favorite activity is to find and tinker with Synth Human parts and upgrade them. [[spoiler:This puts her on the Synth Human radar, who keep tabs on her to steal and reproduce her work.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Professor Chronos]]
A brilliant scientist from the future that worked on the Xeno-Crystal Project. He went missing years ago, along with his entire family. [[spoiler: He really sent himself into the past to try and change history.]]
----
* CoolMask: Wears one as [[spoiler: the Oracle. It's to hide the horrid radiation burns on his face from his experiments.]]
* IgnoredExpert: [[spoiler:He knew the Xeno-Crystal was unstable and wanted to focus on the Geo-Crystal instead. He got ignored, since the Xeno-Crystal provided more energy.]]
* LukeIAmYourFather: [[spoiler: Or rather, cat owner.]]
* SoProudOfYou: He tells Aldo that he's glad that Aldo foiled his plan earlier, and how happy he is with how Aldo grew up [[spoiler: during his dying speech, since he mistook Aldo for his son.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:King Miglance VII]]
A king from the present era who rules over Miglance, the nation Baruoki is apart of.
----
* TheChainsOfCommanding: He finds ruling a burden sometimes, but would not abandon his duty to his kingdom.
* CharacterWitness: In one of the character sidequests attack, [[spoiler: he vouches for Lokido's character when a racist official tries to exile him from Unigan.]] He also refuses to enact justice on [[spoiler:Shion]] despite attempting to murder him, sensing he doesn't want to go through.
* TheGoodKing: He's considered a strong leader, liked by his citizens and a major threat to Miglance's enemies.
* KingBobTheNth
* NervesOfSteel: He doesn't bat an eyelash when [[spoiler:Shion comes to assassinate him]] or when [[spoiler:the Thunder King brandishes Palsifal's sword in front of him]]. His reaction to this is to gently mock Aldo about how he's gotten himself in yet another mess.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: He personally leads his knights in the defense of Unigan and, facing powerful enemies, he simply pulls out his sword and prepares to duke it out.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Thunder King]]
A king from the past era who led humanity to victory against the ogres.
----
* HeroicBuild: The man looks like he could be one of the [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure Pillar Men]] or a beardless [[Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda Ganondorf]].
* TheGoodKing: He is much more of a warmonger than King Miglance, but he does what he does to make sure humans won't suffer at the hands of the Ogres. He also quickly trusts Aldo and his team when they defeat some ogres in front of him and is ''amazed'' at how Unigan is beautiful.
* KubrickStare: His "happy" character portrait gives him one along with a PsychoticSmirk.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: His clothes leave his whole torso and abs exposed.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Administrator]]
The ruler of Elzion in the future era.
----
* CoolOldGuy: He is noticeably older than the two other rulers (Palsifal and Miglance VII), has a cohort of servant androids in his office, takes time off his schedule to play chess with Sebastia and helps Aldo and his team at every step of the way.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He lets Aldo and his friends access the Xeno-Domain at will (somthing only KMS higher-ups can do, for short periods of time) and use his personal teleporter since they're the only people who have a clue about how to stop the Phantom and thus prevent damge and loss of life to Elzion.
* SmartPeoplePlayChess: He is Sebastia's chess buddy.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Synth Hydra]]
The Synth in charge of the Riftbreaker, the time-traveling ship built by the Synth Humans.
----
* DefeatMeansFriendship: [[spoiler:Once Aldo and team defeat him and Helena nearly performs an HeroicSacrifice to prevent the Riftbreaker from crashing]], he joins them.
* GlobalAirship: [[spoiler:While allied with the main cast, it and the Riftbreaker functions like one. They even let you travel to new locations in various time periods, and fast-travel across time periods without needing to stop by the Spacetime Rift.]]
* HotBlooded: The Synth Cannon, the main weapon of the Riftbreaker, always ramble about how he wants to blow up and shoot stuff, even after he joins you.
* LivingShip
* XtremeKoolLetterz: Once he assimilates the Primeval Gem [[spoiler:and can cross Chronos' Umbra galewinds]], he jokingly asks to be called "Synth Hydra Z" from now on.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Barkeep]]
The bartender at Time's Forgotten Stop. When Aldo first ends up in the Spacetime Rift, he explains to Aldo how to get back to his own time period.
----
* CassandraTruth: In an optional conversation that can be viewed by visiting his bar between completing the Tower of Stars and the Dimensional Vortex, he tries to tell Aldo that [[spoiler: Aldo isn't really Eden as he had been led to beleive]], but it doesn't accomplish anything.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: His name has not been stated, so he is only refered to by titles.
* INeverToldYouMyName: He knew Aldo's name when they first met, indicating that there is more to him than meets the eye.
* SunglassesAtNight: He always wears sunglasses, even in the dimly lit bar in the spacetime rift, where it is always night.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nameless Girl]]
A girl that stands outside the door to Another Dungeon, and provides an introduction for the mechanic. Her memory is a bit fuzzy, so she doesn't know who she is. By completing Another Dungeon runs, Aldo can return pieces of her memory.
----
* AmnesiacDissonance: [[spoiler: She's amiable towards Aldo when they meet, even though her mission is to kill him, because she doesn't remember her mission well enough.]]
* DarkAndTroubledPast: The only memory she has at the start is of being rocked in a dark and lonely world.
* LaserGuidedTykeBomb: [[spoiler: The entire point of her existance is to kill Aldo.]]
* NominalImportance: Subverted. She has no name and uses the generic present era little girl sprite, but she has a notable side quest.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mysterious Chimera]]
An unnamed chimera that appears in the Dream Worlds during the IDA School Episodes. It has acted as a benefactor by allowing the party to look into the distant memories of the dreamers, which becomes crucial to saving them. Of course, it does this with a price, and the player has to do some legwork in progressing the Episodes first.
----
* FunetikAksent: How its speech is written.
* MysteriousStranger: Nobody knows who or what it is, but Claude notes that the Chimera appeared in every Drream World IDEA has encountered and always helped to save the dreamers.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Horai villagers]]
The inhabitants of the Horai Mining Village, the setting of the Time Mine episode. At first, the only one is the timid loner and later "volunteered" mayor Marlowe, but soon others join: hotheaded carpenter Terry, spacey bard Henry, stern metalworker Rebecca, frail vagrant Sylvia, [[{{Pun}} bombastic]] explosive technician Hilda, grumpy mastersmith Gordon, [[spoiler: Mona, the daughter of Terry and Sylvia]], cranky old lady Grace [[spoiler: and Good Macky]].
----
* CharacterDevelopment: After the bridge is completed, Aldo finds the inhabitants very different, most notably Marlowe who became much more confident and ambitious and Terry calmer as well as [[spoiler:a father]]. [[spoiler:This is the effects of the Visus Echo messing with the local time, causing nearly 10 years to pass in Horai while it's only a few days outside.]]
* GotVolunteered: At first Marlowe is just a young man who wants to rebuild Horai and find out why it was abandoned. Then Terry dubs him "mayor", followed by the other Horai denizens. Fortunately, Marlowe turns out to be cut for the job.
* HappilyMarried: Terry and Sylvia.
* TheHeart: Sylvia thinks she's useless since she doesn't know a trade like Terry or can lead like Marlowe, so she decides to tend the flowers of the village. This turns out to brighten the mood of everyone and turn the shabby village in a beautiful place. [[spoiler:After her death, Mona decides to walk in her mother's footsteps.]]
* HiddenDepths: Hilda is as good as a clockmaker as a bomb technician, but she finds explosives funnier. Likewise, Henry is quite crafty for a bard and knows his way around medicine.
* IllGirl: Sylvia suffers from a chronic disease and a weak constitution, needing medicine from Henry as well as frequent rest. [[spoiler: Her condition catches up with her soon after the bridge is completed and ultimately kills her.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Gordon doesn't give a shit about anything but his work and himself once his work is done, and won't hesitate to tell you that. But he also willingly takes Terry in as his apprentice to work on the Horai bridge -- a bridge that he chose to rebuild ''just'' because he overheard Aldo talking about it. [[spoiler:He also carves a gravestone for Sylvia so she won't be forgotten.]]
* NightmareFetishist: Henry gets jolts of inspiration from his phobias of heights and darkness. The latter causes him to act like he's possessed, freaking out Aldo and Amy in the process.
* ParentalSubstitute: Rebecca becomes one for Sylvia, as she's estranged from her son and Sylvia is implied to be an orphan.
* ScrewPolitenessImASenior: Grace's way of welcoming people in her house is to threaten to pelt them with fruits or ''rocks'' [[spoiler:until Hilda, implied to be her daughter, cracks her shell]].
* StuffBlowingUp: Hilda's bread and butter. Her only job is to cook up bombs to clear rubble in the mines. According to a fisherman, her works caused a gigantic fire at the Rinde docks.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mayu]]
A student at IDA Academy who was hospitalized for a terminal illness. In the peak of her despair, she, like Saki, ate a dark apple, creating her Dream World in which she can live without being impaired by it.
----
* EnemyWithout: Like with Saki, Mayu's Dream World manifests a Heart Guardian that does its utmost to keep her asleep.
* ForDoomTheBellTolls: A recurring theme in her Dream World is the clock tower's bell. Its ringing reminded her of her numbered days. In her Dream World, its ringing signals when she uses her time control powers.
* HerCodenameWasMarySue: While she's much more strong and powerful than in the real world, making herself the IDA Vice-Chair and able to fly, she turned Isuka into her invincible protector, able to outspeed anything and even cut down divinely-powered arrows.
* IllGirl: She's hospitalized for a terminal illness which also claimed her mother.
* IOweYouMyLife: She worships Isuka since she saved her from the burning hospital ward where Mayu was when they were younger.
* ParentalAbandonment: Her mother died from the same illness that plagues her, and her father died in a disaster that befell her previous treatment ward.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ciel's parents]]
The father and mother of Ciel, Shannon and their three sisters. Ciel's father is a very eccentric fashion designer, whose pecularities rubbed on his wife and children. They own the whole Garden Island, home to their manor and shapeshifting garden.
----
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Inverted. Ciel and Shannon are as weird as their parents, to the dismay of Aldo and Renri.
* BadFuture: [[spoiler:Ciel's entire family is revealed to hail from the far future of a different timeline, where IndividualityIsIllegal and their artistic quirks are criminalized.]]
* BeingWatched: The Elzion COA have their eyes on them ever since they installed themselves on Garden Island, having a dedicated inspector assigned to their house. Officially, it's because their home is too close to the Elzion plate, but Renri hints that it's for another reason. It's considered [[ReassignedToAntarctica a borderline demotion]] by the COA to get this assignment since you have to deal with Ciel's family all day every day.
* BigFancyHouse: When you have five children, you need a big house, but Ciel's parents live in a literal manor. With a large garden that reorganizes itself every time you want and full of robotic animals.
* CampStraight: Ciel's dad. Would you believe the fashion designer who walks around wearing big butterfly wings and overreacts to anything has a wife and five kids?
* TheMasquerade: The cat burglar who frequently visits their house and robs them of various items such as doorknobs and pillows [[spoiler:is played by Ciel's parents, who made up the whole affair to toughen up their son in case he gets kidnapped.]]
* SickeninglySweethearts
[[/folder]]

!!Other Player Characters

[[folder:General Tropes]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: Character quests expand on their backstory, even developing into a mini-arc for some.
* CombatMedic: A select few Hammer users also have the ability to heal their allies without compensating on physical damage like their staff counterparts.
* FragileSpeedster: Bow users are very fast, but suffer from rather low defenses and somewhat lackluster attacks.
* GlassCannon: Katana users typically have a very high Physical Attack stat and the Speed to execute them quickly, but have below-average HP and defenses.
* RePower: Another Style gives 5-star characters a different skillset and style, either reinforcing their existent role in a team or a whole new role. To hammer it home, while you can have both a vanilla and AS character in your roster, you can't have both on your team.
* SquishyWizard: Offensive staff users have a very large Magic Attack stat and the MP to use their expensive spells frequently, but have the lowest HP and Physical Defense totals.
[[/folder]]

!!!Miglance Castle

[[folder:Anabel]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/839e7374_453c_457e_9344_9e11d6219ecb.png]]
A Paladin among the order of knights in Unigan, she possesses a very strong sense of justice and honor, and is determined to wipe out all beastfolk.
----
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: [[spoiler:Her sister Deirdre saved her life when they were young with the power of a demonic sword. The sword erased both sisters’ memory of each other in exchange for the deed.]]
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: She's one of the only characters to carry a shield in combat, fitting her status as a paladin and a defensive character.
* OmnicidalManiac: Anna's goal is to end all conflict, and she realized in order to achieve that, all life on earth must end. Anabel is horrified by this and vows to stop her.
* ReincarnationIdentifyingTrait: She shares a unique birthmark with Anna, the First Paladin.
* SoleSurvivor: Her hometown was completely destroyed by the beasts when she was young, and she was the only survivor. [[spoiler:At least, she thought she was.]]
* StoneWall: Of the 5-star characters, Anabel's HP and defensive stats are difficult to beat. Her skills also allow her to inflict debuffs to take a lot of bite out of strong enemies, compensating for her relatively low damage output.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bertrand]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101040101_base.png]]
Bertrand was one of the best knights during Miyu's childhood, earning the nickname "Shield of Miglance" for his prowess in combat. Having lost an eye in battle, he attempted to retire, but King Miglance assigned him to look after the young Princess Miyu. Once Miyu grew up and could take care of herself, Bertrand left royal service and became a mercenary.
----
* AmbidextrousSprite: He's got an eyepatch, and his sprite is simply flipped for either direction, so the eyepatch will switch eyes.
* BadassCape: His is covered in stab-resistant plates, allowing him to shield himself or others.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: When Felmina has the bright idea to stop a tantrum from Miyu by knocking the daylights out of her, Bertrand vehemently objects -- on the grounds that you can't hit the princess.
* DrawAggro: One of the few characters who can inflict Rage to every enemy at once.
* StoneWall: His HP and defenses are even higher than Anabel's, and he has a skill that gives him a colossal Physical Defense buff. There exists a strategy that hinges on him being as slow as possible so that he can take the brunt of as many attacks as possible.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Breeno]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/breeno_350.png]]
Breeno is a dark elf that joined the knights of Unigan. He's talented at the job, but kind of an enigma.
----
* FriendshipDenial: At first Breeno denies being friends with other knights he works with, correcting any declaration that they're friends to being comrades.
* TheStoic: He doesn't talk much, and he shows emotions even less often.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Deirdre]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deirdre_9.png]]
A mysterious mercenary that works with the royal knights. However, she's known for her insubordinate behavior, and wields a demon blade whose power she is determined to awaken as soon as possible.
----
* DarkIsNotEvil: She's desperately trying to awaken a demon blade, but she has good reasons to do so. [[spoiler:Namely, completing the StableTimeLoop to give it to herself in the past.]]
* DudeWheresMyRespect: She ''pouts'' when she hears the beastfolk are terrified of Anabel's holy sword, but have never heard of Verweil.
* EmpathicWeapon: Her demon sword, Verweil.
* FauxActionGirl: Downplayed. She sees herself as a third-rate fighter who uses the power of Verweil to compensate her lack of skills, but doing her quests allows her to get better.
* ISeeDeadPeople: She can both see and hear the souls of the dead on the Ancient Battlefield, courtesy of Verweil making her "attuned" to the supernatural.
* LockedIntoStrangeness: Her hair changed color to match her sword after forming a contract with the demon blade.
* LongLostRelative: [[spoiler:She's Anabel's sister, but doesn't remember it due to Verweil messing with her memories. A secret quest allows the two sisters to finally be reunited.]]
* PragmaticHero: She considers playing by the rules of honor and chivalry stupid, since the enemies won't be following the rules.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Felmina]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101060091_base.png]]
One of Miglance's spies, who has been assigned with Bertrand to look after the young Princess Miyu.
----
* InjuredVulnerability: Her Tri-Cataclysm skill hits even harder if its target is inflicted with Poison or Pain.
* MaternallyChallenged: Her idea to stop young Miyu from crying is to... Knock her out. Bertrand has to talk her out of it.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Like Cerrine below, her skillset is a bit unusual; she uses [[KnifeNut two knives]] in battle, but since that weapon class is not available in-game, her specific weapon is fists. Several of her attacks are slashing rather than blunt to reflect the use of knives.
* {{Ninja}}: Her use of twin knives and tendency to appear out of thin air or in a puff of smoke evokes this.
* ShesGotLegs: Felmina's {{Qipao}}-like dress draws attention to her legs. Her 5-star portrait gives a better view of them.
* TheStoic: To the point she takes it as a compliment when a young Miyu cries about how she looks emotionless.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Miyu]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miyu_350.png]]
Obviously, Miyu is just a traveling swordsman, like Aldo. She feels strongly about protecting the citizens of Miglance. [[spoiler: Her real name is Mufilleux Miglance, princess of Miglance.]]
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: v1.5.5 adds the "Little Princess' Little Big Adventure" questline, focused entirely around her childhood and granting her a new class upgrade to boot.
* ConfrontingYourImposter: [[spoiler: Her second quest involves her dealing with an imposter claiming to be her in order to mooch free stuff.]]
* ImpracticallyFancyClothes: She considers her frilly BattleBallgown to be one of her simpler outfits because she doesn't have to spend all morning putting it on by herself.
* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: Her traveling clothes might be fancier than average, but she beats down enemies just as well as everyone else.
* KingIncognito: She's actually the daughter of the king of Miglance.
* PrincessesPreferPink: She wears a pink dress all the time. Her personal weapon, Little Glitter, is also a pink sword.
* ProperTightsWithASkirt: Wears tights as part of her outfit, as fitting for a noble.
* RebelliousPrincess: She ran away from home because she wanted to protect her kingdom, which she couldn't do while being pampered in the palace. Her Other Tales questline reveals that she was also quite the handful as a child, to the dismay of her old nanny and later, Bertrand and Felmina.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: She's quite skilled with the sword and takes an active role in defending her kingdom.
* [[WarriorPrince Warrior Princess]]: She can more than hold her own in a fight.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Soira]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/soira.png]]
A descendant of a rich family. Being apart of the Unigan knighthood seems to have unaffected her natural lackadaisical character. She wanders around the city and helps whomever needs help.
----
* AccidentalAimingSkills: She's able to hit a flying enemy with pepper powder, but only because of a lucky gust of wind. Her aim is terrible.
* BattleBallgown: Seems to be standard for female knights in Unigan.
* CloudCuckoolander: She can be rather spacey. When she recieves summons for official knight duty, she thinks that her job might be to water the flowers.
* DrawAggro: While it's not unusual for several defense-oriented characters to have the ability to inflict Rage on enemies, Soira stands out in that her Valor Chant inflicts this on all enemies at once. This is meant to synergize with her personal defense buff (which provides a massive defense bonus) but can lead to her getting knocked out more often if timed poorly.
* {{Sleepyhead}}: One of her favorite activities is taking naps.
[[/folder]]

!!!IDA Academy

[[folder:Cerrine]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cerrine.png]]
A teacher at the IDA Academy who specializes in "battle theory". Formerly a mediocre fighter, she has suddenly taken on a very fierce attitude which has garnered her some infamy.
----
* DefeatMeansPlayable: Like the other Chance Encounter units, Cerrine must be fought several times, with her fifth defeat adding her to your roster.
* {{Dominatrix}}: Her use of a whip, elegant but stern looks and love to inflict pain on her opponents and students (and, funnily enough, not minding that much being on the receiving side) gives this vibe. [[spoiler:Not surprising since she was a mob boss before impersonating her sister.]]
* TheGlassesComeOff: As she prepares to fight each time, she removes her glasses. [[spoiler:The glasses are purely aesthetic and she can see perfectly without them -- they're a keepsake of her dead twin sister.]]
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: She uses [[WhipItGood a whip]] in battle, but since that weapon class is not available in-game, her specific weapon is fists. Almost all her attacks, including her normal attack, are piercing rather than blunt to reflect the use of her whip.
* PuzzleBoss: After 3 turns in-battle, she imposes a task on the player on top of adding buffs and debuffs to her and the party respectively. Failing to accomplish the objective in 3 turns results in a party-wide earth attack before being forced to repeat the same task. Completing the task causes her to impose a different one, and each subsequent fight leads to her adding more tasks until the final battle.
* RetiredOutlaw: [[spoiler: The fake Cerrine took the helm of one of Elzion's biggest criminal outfits in her teenage years and didn't gave up her seat until her sister's death. She still has lots of sway over her former associates.]]
* TurnsRed: Once the player has completed all her tasks in her final battle, or has sufficiently reduced her HP, she gets serious and uses a more dangerous attack pattern.
* TwinSwitch: [[spoiler:Her final character quest reveals that the current Cerrine is her older twin sister, taking the previous Cerrine's place after her unfortunate death. The stark differences in the sisters is the reason for her personality shift.]]
* WhenAllYouHaveIsAHammer: She threatens with her whip at the slightest provocations, without any sense of tact.

[[folder:Claude]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101050081_base.png]]
IDA Academy's top student and a member of IDEA. A royal descendant of a now fallen country, he seems to want to find a way to resurrect his home land. As he wants to be a king one day, he always acts as the model student.
----
* BerserkButton: Powerful people who prey on the weak or refuse to use their abilities for good rile him up pretty bad.
* LargeHam: Coming from a time where royalty doesn't really exist anymore, Claude feels the need to act kingly as much as possible.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Even if he is only ''technically'' a king, Claude nevers shys away from his duties as an IDEA member or a student, believing being king means putting yourself at the service of his subjects.

[[folder:Foran]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/foran_350.png]]
A student at the IDA Academy and daughter of a legendary warrior. Foran has a rebellious streak and a strong sense of justice, likely due to her upbringing and lineage.
----
* AllAmazonsWantHercules: Her reaction to be confessed to is to insist the guy beat her in combat first. While she only said that because she panicked, Foran admits that she really wouldn't be happy with a guy that couldn't match her.
* ArchaicWeaponForAnAdvancedAge: How she sees using a spear in Elzion, where ray guns and other advanced weapons are common. It doesn't have any influence gameplay-wise.
* BareYourMidriff: Her top leaves her navel exposed.
* CustomUniform: Wears a SailorFuku instead of the blazer uniform most of the other IDA students wear.
* {{Joshikousei}}: She's a student wearing a SailorFuku.
* RaisedByGrandparents: Her grandmother raised her. Foran claims she is very strict and tried to talk her out of following in her father's footsteps, causing her to double down on her spear training.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: She had bad experiences with her grandmother's cat, which makes her refuse to go near cats even while trying to help her friend find their lost cat.
* ZettaiRyouiki: Foran wears thigh-high socks with her uniform.

Isuka is the head of the IDA Academy's student council, and for good reason -- she stays calm no matter what the situation and excels in nearly every aspect. She is clearly pursuing something, but what it could be is unknown.
----
* TheAce: One of the best students at the Academy. Even the other elites in the student council look up to her. [[spoiler:This image is exaggerated and turned on the party in IDA School Part 2, where Mayu's admiration for Isuka creates a nigh-invulnerable dream duplicate, much to Isuka's annoyance.]]
* AnimalMotifs: Butterflies in her case. This acts as a subtle clue of her importance [[spoiler:in Mayu's Dream World]].
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: She's the head of IDEA and fully capable of fighting on the field.
* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: Her Another Style trades her IDEA uniform for a long cocktail dress.
* IaijutsuPractitioner: She uses a sheathed style when fighting with her katana.
* NervesOfSteel: Not even being suddenly summoned by Aldo can faze her.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: [[spoiler:Dream Isuka]] has red eyes and a permanent smirk.
* SupportPartyMember: Her attack skills aren't outstanding, since they are single-hit and aren't very good for charging or extending the Another Force bar. However, her Valor Chant provides a powerful debuff to both PWR and INT, making her excellent for survival when used well. Her another Style takes it up a notch by allowing her to switch between different postures, giving various buffs to ther allies depending of the posture used.

[[folder:Jade]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/another_eden_jade.png]]
A student at the IDA school in Elzion. He's got an attitude problem, but he deeply cares for his sister and would do anything to save her.
----
* AbusiveParents: His father was a scientist who subjected him to cruel experiments. When Jade escaped, his father made his wife and daughter into his new test subjects.
* AmbidextrousSprite: His outfit is very [[FashionableAsymmetry asymmetrical]], but his walking sprite is the same whether he's facing right or left. This results in things his bag strap switching which shoulder it's slung over.
* BigBrotherInstinct: He really wants to rescue his sister, even after she pushes him away.
* IneffectualLoner: He insists on doing everything alone, but this doesn't work out great for him. He learns his lesson and accepts Aldo's help.
* IWorkAlone: He rebuffs Aldo's offer to help because the last person who agreed to help him died.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's very cold, but he cares a lot about his sister Saki. The plot of his episode is kicked off when she gets into serious danger.
* MysticalWhiteHair: He has white hair.

[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Click here to see AS Mighty]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101000041_s2_rank5_base.png]][[/labelnote]]
Mighty is a student at the IDA Academy. However, if it weren't for the uniform, it would be hard to tell, because he prefers sleeping. He's been said to wander the streets at night.
----
* ChargedAttack: His Another Style has a Meditation skill, where he goes to sleep for a turn but also gains Hypnosis counters, which enable his magic attacks to land {{Critical Hit}}s. If he wakes up on his own (no ailment curing or sleep-breaking damage allowed), he is healed and gets a large INT buff.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Lots of his fellow students thinks he can't do crap except sleeping and hanging out at night. In reality, he is one of the best Nightmare Hunters.
* DreamWalker: He actually has the ability to go into dreams (human or animal), taking people along if he wishes. He works as a Nightmare Hunter, which is why he's so sleepy. This proves useful in [[spoiler:Mayu's Dream World]] as he can "speak" with sleeping people.
* FightingFromTheInside: Once he's inside a dream, he can fight Nightmares, destroying them for good.
* MakingASplash: Magic water is his forte.
* {{Sleepyhead}}: So much so that he can fall asleep in the middle of a conversation.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ruina]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ruina_350.png]]
Ruina is a student at the IDA Academy, and one of their brightest. Descending from the supposedly extinct-in-the-future elven race, her longer lifespan means she has trouble connecting with her human peers.
----
* CustomUniform: Her uniform actually resembles the standard IDA school uniform, unlike a lot of recruitable IDA students, but she uses a green tartan patern where the [=NPCs=] would have solid green.
* DualWielding: Her portrait depicts her wielding dual swords. During gameplay, however, she uses just one sword like everyone else.
* ExtracurricularEnthusiast: She decides to help Aldo as one of her extracurricular activities.
* ObliviousToLove: Her second sidequest has her and Aldo investigate a "mysterious couple", not knowing that ''they'' are the couple in question. In fact, Ruina is largely clueless of romance throughout the whole quest.
* OlderThanTheyLook: As she is an elf, she has lived longer than the others.
* PointyEars: She has pointed ears, as fitting for her elven heritage.
* TheSpock: She's intelligent, seemingly aloof, and doesn't really understand emotions.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Saki]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/saki_31.png]]
A girl from IDA Academy, and Jade's sister. After giving into despair and eating a dark apple, she ends trapped in a dream world. After being rescued by Aldo, Jade and Isuka, she tries to get a hold of her powers and know what to do with her life.
----
* AbusiveParent: Saki's father used her a test subject, after driving away her brother by doing the same thing to him.
* AnIcePerson: Her father's experiments gave her ice powers. Her Dream World is a frozen version of her school. Since there's no Ice element in-game, her attacks are Water spells.
* CharacterDevelopment: After joining IDEA in the investigation of Mayu's Dream World, she feels overshadowed by Aldo, Isuka, and Claude, on top of her hesitance to use her powers. It takes a moment of crisis for her to develop the confidence to use them, and her increasing confidence and power is also reflected in her new Valor Chant lines and unlocked Ability Boards.
* EnemyWithout: Because she's trapped in a world based around her mind, her subconscious is able to manifest as a physical entity will do whatever it takes to keep her asleep.
* GuineaPigFamily: Her father was successful in his experiment to turn her into a living weapon, granting her great power at the cost of her no longer being able to live a normal life.
* HopeIsScary: One of her subconscious projections is the embodiment of her hope. The rest of her subconscious tries to repress this side of her, because she believes that hope causes more pain than it's worth.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: An innocuous comment from Saki rubbed Mayu the wrong way, causing both friends to be driven apart and facilitating Mayu's downward spiral into despair. Saki eventually addresses this to fix their friendship.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Keeping the trend of Cerrine and Felmina, Saki doesn't use a weapon in-game, but her class weapon is staves.
* PowerIncontinence: She can't control her powers, and nearly hurt one of her friends. Even after she is rescued from her Dream World, she holds herself back out of fear of a repeat incident.
* PromotedToPlayable: She becomes a playable party member during the IDA School Part 2: Butterfly's City and Heaven's Cradle (v 1.6.5) Episode.
* RankUp: [[spoiler:At the end of IDA School Part 2, Saki is offered a position in IDEA. She keeps the offer on hold as she prioritizes caring for Mayu, before fully embracing it (with an free Another Style upgrade) in the After Incidents Epilogue.]]

Sevyn is a studen at IDA Academy, but he rarely attends classes. He's arrogant and brash, perhaps because he's one of the few remaining shamans in Elzion, and can use magic without the aid of prisma. He'd never admit that he'd like to find someon who can challenge and/or accept him.
----
* BoyfriendBluff: A classmate claims to be Sevyn's girlfriend to scare off an admirer. Sevyn has no interest in playing along, and would've walked away if the other guy hadn't accused his powers of being fake.
* {{Delinquents}}: Doesn't respect authority, doesn't show up to class, and doesn't wear a school uniform.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: He wears a jacket with no shirt.

!!!Dragon Palace

[[folder:Chiyo]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chiyo_6.png]]
A young girl who works as a maid for Sheila. Sheila saved her life long ago, and so now Chiyo wants nothing more than to become like her. However she's more than a little clumsy, which often leads to trouble. She loves to swim, and will want to jump into any body of water she sees.
----
* FunetikAksent: She has a noticeable Southern twang peppered with British slang in her lines. Oddly, nobody else in the Dragon Palace does it, except the Sea Turtles (who have a Cockney one).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Levia]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/levia.png]]
Unlike most other characters listed here, Levia can only be obtained after fishing up the four Lake Lords across the game world and confronting and defeating the unsealed Leviathan for good. As the ultimate prize of the FishingMinigame, Levia also is a guaranteed 5-star character, and doesn't require any tomes to unlock her full potential.
----
* AlternateIdentityAmnesia: [[spoiler:She serves as the Leviathan's brain, but cannot retain any memory of the destruction it causes while it's made manifest.]]
* LastOfHerKind: The All-Knowing Ammonite recalls that her race was wiped out over 900 years ago, making Levia the only surviving member.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: She does not take well to the revelation of her true identity.

[[folder:Nagi]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nagi_2.png]]
The captain of the squids, who served the Otohime before being banished. She grew up alone in the wilds before meeting the Otohime. No one knows much about her or where she's from. She doesn't even know.
----
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Nobody in the Dragon Palace, especially the other guards, likes her because she's the favorite of the Otohime, taking their displeasure with his cruel rule on her. This changes [[spoiler:once Otohime absorbs the power of Leviathan and the guards realize their cowardice.]]
* AnimalMotifs: Squids. Her nickname is "Squid" and her hat and pants evoke a squid's head and tentacles.
* BigEater: She eats whenever she can, and a part of her loyalty to the Otohime is because he fed her.
** Even in her Dream introduction, she finishes up a snack she was having before speaking to Aldo.
* HeelFaceTurn: She used to work for the Otohime in the past, but switches sides to help Sheila.
* QuestForIdentity: After the issues with Otohime are dealt with, Nagi goes on a quest to discover her past.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sheila[[spoiler: the 25th Otohime]]]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/400px_101040081_base.png]]
A lively woman who hates having to think about things. This causes her to act naive, and also somewhat blunt and violent. When she puts her mind to something, she can never let go of it. She likes sea turtles and is connected to the Dragon Palace somehow.
----
* ConfrontingYourImposter: [[spoiler: She wants to meet the Otohime, because she's the real Otohime. Subverted though. The current Otohime is a conquering tyrant, but he's technically no imposter. Sheila just happens to be from further in the past, being the 25th.]]
* FriendOrFoe: She often attacks people she perceives as an enemy without asking question. She assumes the fishman that rescued her from a barrel was actually the one who shoved her in the barrel, and assumes the Prai is bullying a sea turtle for no reason.
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: Sheila was a really incompetent ruler. Her reign was noted to have been rife with political corruption. She gave the Dragon Palace's economy hyperinflation, and gave sea turtles so many privileges that they acted above everyone else. In the end she left the Dragon Palace ripe for an usurper to take the throne.
* IdiotHero: Sheila really isn't the brightest bulb in the box and acts out of impulses, and more than once her actions have bad consequences.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: The false Otohime needed blood from a true Otohime to open Pandora's Box. He'd killed the last Otohime and sealed Sheila in a barrel to die, but then Sheila came back and recklessly attacked him. This gave him the blood he needed to break the seal.
* OnlyFriend: At one point she mentions that Chiyo was the only one she could really talk to growing up. Nagi decides to offer her friendship at this point.
* UnfitForGreatness: [[spoiler: She tried to be a good ruler, but because she didn't understand the consequences of her actions, her decisions caused more harm than good. Her own advisors tried to get rid of her for the sake of the kingdom.]]

[[folder:Akane]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akane_1.png]]
Akane is a young samurai from the east, who left home to find her older brother Shion. Because she always compares herself to her brother, whom she respects above all other people, she tends to understamate her own skill. This, combined with her rashness, can get her into trouble.
----
* BigBrotherWorship: She admires her big brother and considers his skills unparalleled.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: The Foolish one, according to Shion. He had to get her out of trouble more than once and claims she draws her sword at the slightest provocation.
* WaxOnWaxOff: She tries candy making in hopes that skills will transfer to her swordsmanship. To no one else's surprise, the skills turn out to be completely unrelated.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Azami]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/azami_350.png]]
A samurai who hails from the east, Azami seeks training so she can better protect the princess she's assigned to guard. Although she usually speaks formally, you can hear if she's not concentrating.
----
* AntiMagic: At the start of her battle and every 5 turns after, Azami imposes a crippling INT debuff on the party, rendering the player's active mages and healers powerless. Her valor chant also reflects this, lowering all enemies' INT.
* DefeatMeansPlayable: She appears at Serena Coast as a BonusBoss. Defeat her five times and she'll join your party.
* JapaneseRanguage: She misspells "goblins" as "goburins" in her dialogue before one of your battles with her.
* RhetoricalQuestionBlunder: She asks a group of goblins if they're monsters after they hold her favorite treat hostage, only for Aldo to point out that she's addressing a literal group of monsters.
* RushBoss: Her debilitating debuff detailed above denies the party any good healing, forcing the player to do everything they can to outdamage her.
* SamuraiPonytail: She wears her hair in a neat ponytail, emphasising her noble samurai spirit.
* ShowgirlSkirt: Her kimono is open from the waist down, achieving this effect.
* SweetTooth: Her second character quest has her getting very fired up over the shipment of some sweets going missing. This quirk also lets her perform a combination attack with other characters with similar tastes.

[[folder:Benedict]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/benedict_9.png]]
Benedict calls himself a simple lumberjack and insists he is very normal. He seems strongly interested in living a normal life, despite seeming to have no idea what normal actually is. Also, he is perfectly normal.
----
* BarbarianHero: He doesn't look the part, but his lack of social skills, mastery of the battleaxe and prowess in combat make up for it.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:If the hoodlum in his second quest is to be believed, Benedict used to be a fearsome highwayman.]]
* NoSocialSkills: He clearly has none. His attempt to get engaged involves ambushing random women to offer them a bouquet of carnivorous flowers. ''It works'' on one lady, though. [[spoiler: Too bad she was already married.]]
* ObsessivelyNormal: He tries to be, often prefacing his conversations by explaining how normal he's being, but he's too clueless to be remotely normal. [[spoiler: His second quest sheds some light about why.]]
* PersonalDictionary: Benedict often mentions being a normal lumberjack. The only thing he knows about lumberjacks is that they're normal and carry around an ax.

Bivette is the latest recipient of an ancient power. She considers herself a magical genius who will one day be the best mage ever, but to most people she just looks a strange young girl.
----
* AllWitchesHaveCats: Bivette thinks so. She has a pet cat named Rumino to be her familiar.
* BlackMagicianGirl: She's boisterous and can cast powerful single-target [[PlayingWithFire fire]] spells.
* SelfServingMemory: She remembers being friends with a spirit that lived in a lamp as a child. When she meets the spirit again as an adult, it tries to seek retribution for all the pain she caused it.

----
* SharpDressedMan: Rocks a fancy black and white suit.
* SupportPartyMember: He is half this, half regular DPS as several of his skills inflict big Intelligence debuffs.
* WrongSideOfTheTracks: He grew up in a urban ghetto where crime was rampant, motivating his goal to become a cop.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ciel]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ciel_350.png]]
A performer who hails from Nilva, Ciel sings soprano and plays the harp. People say that he may be magically gifted at music.

* ADayInTheLimelight: "Foreign Skies and the Ship to Freedom" is an Other Tales episode focusing on his family and home life, and rewards supplies used to unlock his 5-star upgrade.
* BigBrotherWorship: Even if they're not related, he treats Aldo like this.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: He looks feminine, dresses in a feminine manner, likes cute dresses and has a higher-pitched voice, but is actually male.
* InformedFlaw: His character bio claims he can act rather spoiled due to being the youngest of the bunch, but he never comes across that way in game.
* ItRunsInTheFamily: His Other Tales reveal that both his parents and at least one of his sisters are as eccentric and flamboyant as him. His dad is a fashion designer who wears giant butterfly wings as his daily outfit.
* MagicMusic: His singing voice is implied to help people fall in love. He isn't aware of it.
* OutnumberedSibling: He has five older sisters.
* ScaramangaSpecial: Transformable version in the case of his Signature weapon, Apollo's Harp, which can also be used as a longbow.

----
* PeltsOfTheBarbarian: She's an outlaw from prehistoria, and wears furs decorated with fangs, feathers and bits of armor.
* RetiredOutlaw: She quit her gang before meeting Aldo, and has expressed interest in settling down.

An archer in the same Baruoki guard unit as Aldo. Born into a proud hunting family, Darunis is most at home in the forest with a bow in his hand. He hates killing, be it monsters or beasts.
----
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: He sees Aldo this way, claiming that Aldo could outmatch him in no time if he wasn't goofing off or only interested in physical prowess.
* ForestRanger: His job is halfway this, halfway [[CityGuards town guard]]. As he puts it, he only defends the "human" territory from intruders.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy
* ThouShaltNotKill: He avoids killing monsters and beastfolk as it will only make them go bolder to kill their friends, even if they encroach on human territory.

A sea-faring pirate endlessly seeking freedom. Born into a noble family, Denny rebelled against his father and ran away. The epitome of confidence, he likes to look after the weak and he is beloved wherever he goes.
----
* TheCasanova
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: Just look at that mane.
* NiceHat: Without a top in order to let his hair flow.
* {{Pirate}}: He admits you could call him one, but he's much more interested in the "freely sailing the seas with your friends" side of piracy than the "search for buried booty and plunder ships" side.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Erina]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/erina.png]]
Despite being a shaman with strong supernatural powers, Erina will only use them to help others and seems not interested in using them for her own gain. She has been seen at times just talking to thin air. Despite being born into a wealthy merchant family, she's not so good at managing her finances.
----
* LifeDrain: She stands out from other healers as her main method of attack also heals the party.
* StatusBuffDispel: One of the few characters who can erase an enemy's buffs and debuffs.

A shady-looking weapons broker, Ewan deals in possessed blades, demon swords, weapons with a bloody history and other curious weaponry. He is very harsh toward customers who have no experience in handling evil weapons.
----
* CoatCape
* CollectorOfTheStrange: He only deals in cursed weapons and mundane ones with a bloody history. The latter don't bring as much money, but it's still a pretty penny.
* CoolShades
* DropTheHammer: [[spoiler:Despite having made a pact with a cursed lance.]] He enjoys the heft of a warhammer and the loud noise of the head connecting with a target.
* ExactWords: [[spoiler:His contract with the Phantom's Lance stipulates that, in exchange of getting all his life force back, Ewan can't use Phantom's Bane to destroy it. Too bad for Phantom's Lance, Aldo also wants to destroy the evil spirit within and isn't bound by their agreement.]]
* HonestJohnsDealership: Averted. His items are genuine and, before any purchase, he makes sure the weapon fits the buyer, telling off people he sees as unfit to wield an evil weapon.
* MyGreatestFailure: [[spoiler:Finding Phantom's Lance and allowing it to seal a contract with him when he was nearing death are, in his words, not his finest moment.]]
* SweetTooth. His persona type. Shown in his various quests, where the only food he orders is extra-sweet desserts, including a ''full-course'' meal made of various cakes. [[spoiler:At first it's because losing his life force to Phantom's Lance dulled his senses, but he admits that he always was a sugar lover.]]
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Nothing above the waist save for his CoatCape and pauldrons.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: He literaly has two locks of pure blue hair on each side of his head.

A fire magic specialist who travels the land looking for others to battle. Gariyu believes himself to be unstoppable and superior to anyone, and is crude and ruthless in his fighting style.
----
* BloodKnight: He's always up for a challenge. When Aldo tells him he killed the Flame Eater, Gariyu's reaction is attacking him, since Aldo is clearly the better challenge.
* DefeatMeansPlayable: The last part of Gariyu's recruitment sidequest is to fight him. Defeat him and he joins your party.
* DoubleUnlock: Unlike Azami and Cerrine, Gariyu starts in your team as a whooping ''2-star'' unit, lower than the ComMons, requiring more scripts and tomes to bring him to 5-star.
* DifficultySpike: Like Azami and Cerrine, Gariyu is unlocked after a series of fights against a boss. Unlike them, where you can unleash Another Force to crush the opposition, the Flame Eater is one of the few bosses, aside from the superbosses, who can chew and spit out your party without a very precise strategy.
* MightyGlacier: Gariyu hits as hard as other 5-star mages, but has lower Speed than his peers.
* ScissorsCutsRock: His plan to kill the Flame Eater, a phoenix in all but name, is to burn it. As in, burn a creature that ''thrives'' in flames and fire. It ends up [[AvertedTrope averted]], to his surprise.
* UnskilledButStrong: His magic style is very crude and can be summed up as "make a fireball as big and hot as possible". And Gariyu can make ''big and hot'' fireballs.

By moving slowly enough it follows the party into the mining village where it gets acquainted with its residents. After completion of the Time Mine episode, a bonus sidequest unlocks which lets the Macky join your party after you decide on its name.
----
* HelloInsertNameHere: Unlike most examples where the player could input whatever name they desire, instead it's up to the player to pick from a small selection of names from the Horai villagers.
* TokenHeroicOrc: One of the few non-humanoid characters you can add to your roster.

----
* CutenessProximity: She'll drop everything she's doing to play with any cat she meets.
* ModestyShorts: She wears black bloomers under her dress.
* MyGreatestFailure: Mariel failed to save someone who needed his soul healed, since she only knew magic that healed physical wounds. [[spoiler:Turns out she ''did'' heal the soul of the man, albeit much later than their inital encounter.]]
* NiceHat: A small religous one with frilly borders.
* TeenGenius: She is still a young teenager, but [[spoiler:according to her mother, the head priest]], the fact that she can use the Pure Cradle spell puts her a notch or two above even experienced priests.
* TheRunaway: She ran away from home due to a combination of not feeling worthy of becoming a full priest and wanting to see more of the outside world. This does not sit well with her mother, but her father is happy about it.
* [[WellDoneSonGuy "Well done, Daughter" Girl]]: As she's the daughter of both the head priest (her mother) and the deputy head priest (her father) of Unigan, she feels that they will never be fully satisfied with her. [[spoiler:Turns out to be a case of AntiNepotism, as her parents treated her just like the other acolytes to avoid being accused of favoritism, but still dearly love her nonetheless behind closed doors.]]
* WhiteMage: The majority of her skills focus on healing and buffing her teammates.

----
* BoisterousBruiser: She's loud, makes fun of people and is always itching for a BarBrawl.
* ExposedToTheElements: Unless she carries a fire Prisma under her hat, Miranda doesn't really dress up like someone who sails frozen seas.
* {{Pirate}}: Unlike Denny above, she admits to be one from the get-go and cares more about the "quest for plunder and send scallywags to Davy Jones' locker" side of piracy than the "have merry adventures at sea with your friends" side.

A cheerful Beast Lady who's always eager to please. She's intrigued by the idea of Beasts and humans working as one. Ever the optimist, she's happy as long as everyone's having fun. She keeps smiling, whatever happens. When she enters Beast mode she turns into a giant bunny. Maybe that's why she's shunned by her peers.
----
* HalfIdenticalTwins: She's Vares' twin sister.
* KillerRabbit: Literaly, as her Beast mode shape is a giant spectral bunny. Her 5-star class is also called "Lapin", the French word for "rabbit".
* MasterOfNone: Due to her kit being half-offensive mage half-healer, she falls behind dedicated units, but works well to reinforce them.
* MsFanservice: While other characters also wear skimpy clothing and/or have large breasts, her artwork and sprite clearly shows her cleavage and thighs in ''flattering'' view.

* BareFistedMonk: Despite using Fist weapons.
* {{Expy}}: He's a half-naked fantastic martial artist obsessed with beauty including his own, just like [[Franchise/StreetFighter Vega]]. But the similarities stop here, as he's deep down a good guy.

* ContractOnTheHitman: She takes a job to protect someone from the "Flower of Death", mostly because she wanted to know who was framing her for a contract she never had.
* DoesNotLikeShoes
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: After she was banned from her home for unknown reasons, she ended up in Palsifal with nothing but her sword and the clothes on her back. Doing assassin work was her only option to survive.
* [[ImplacableMan Implacable Woman]]: Once she's got you in her sights, the question is not "If" but "When will you die". [[spoiler:Being her employer won't save you.]]
* LaserGuidedKarma: She enjoys giving this to whoever lies to her about a job, be it the victim or the employer.
* OneLastJob: She agrees to perform one final hit on Aldo's request, setting her second quest in motion.

Otoha is a shrine maiden that insists that she's the reincarnation of the great cat spirit she serves. She's traveled west to find more converts, but isn't having much luck due to her self-absorbed attitude and her tendency to get distracted.
----
* CatGirl: Downplayed. Aside from hissing when she's angry and munching on catnip, she looks human.
* IdiotHero: She gets befuddled by the clues left by the robbers she chases in her second quest. The robbers are ''children''.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: While it's left hanging, the fact that [[spoiler:she inconsciously attacks the beastman spy and the monsters sneaking up on Aldo]] may be pure luck as much as it may be something linked to her "godly" origins.
* RightForTheWrongReasons: She challenges the recruit she's training after the recruit shows her up. While it was mostly her ego talking, he really was a beastman spy.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Otoha is rather full of herself for a simple shrine maiden with delusions of grandeur. She justifies it by saying that being vainglourious comes with being a god.

Pom is a researcher from Elzion that invents potions and tests them on other people without their permission. In particular, she's trying to develop a love potion.
----
* HarmfulHealing: Her Profane Medicine skill heals HP on top of bestowing a simultaneous Intelligence boost and magic defense penalty. It also affects everyone (including the enemies), turning them into a magical GlassCannon.
* LoveFreak: She's obsessed with love, and helping other people develop it. Except instead of being hopelessly naive like normal for this trope, she's a mad scientist.
* SayItWithHearts: She likes to pepper her dialogue with heart symbols.
* UnwittingTestSubject: Since no one would ever agree to do her tests if she told them about it, she tends to to present her concoctions as something mundane, like medicine or water.

A self-admitted necromancer, Raven is wreathed in darkness and death. He has no memory of his past, and hides his scarred face behind a mask. Not wanting to be studied, he prefers to do things on his own and shuns away people.
----
* DarkIsNotEvil: Despite being a complete asshole necromancer and admitting he dabbles in the darkest arts, he's on the good guy's side.
* DishingOutDirt: As there is no "Dark" element fitting his job as a Warlock, he uses Earth spells instead.
* {{Jerkass}}: He is rude, cold and condescending towards everybody, including Aldo. His dialog is mostly composed of barbs mixed with threats. Verges a ''tiny'' bit towards JerkWithAHeartOfGold at the end of his quests, [[spoiler:when he summons the spirit of a dead man so he can say goodbye to his lover]].
* SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids: He considers Aldo a "blasted fool" for always lending a hand to people in need.
* WistfulAmnesia: He knows something's missing about his memories, but he only has faint clues about what or why. Seeing his interest in the [[UltimateEvil Dark Vortex]] and that he's a necromancer, it might have something to do with his job.

----
* ChainmailBikini: Minor example. She wears standard armor on her legs and arms... And a skimpy tunic on her torso.
* [[ChickMagnet Dude Magnet]]: She has been cursed since her childhood to have men fall for her at first sight, which drove her out of her hometown, being distrusful with men and forced her to be a wanderer. Her character quests are focused on her efforts to undo this curse. [[spoiler:To her absolute dismay, it's ''still'' the case even after her curse is broken due to her stunning looks.]]
* MagicKnight: Lots of characters can use magic alongside weapons, but Shanie is the only one to be acknowledged as a spellsword.
* MakingASplash: Her attacks are Water-based and can drastically lower the Water resistance of enemies, making her a great power multiplier for Water-based teams.
* MsFanservice: One look at her is enough to understand why men want to marry her as soon as they see her.
* ThePowerOfLove: Those who fall for her curse go to hell and back to conquer her, getting bolder the more they're cursed. [[spoiler:Her curse is lifted once she herself falls in love with someone, in her case Aldo.]]

----
* IntrovertedCatPerson: He's not the most sociable person around, but loves cats. He carries around sardines to give to any cats he meets.
* MeaningfulName: His 5-star class is called Kagutsuchi, named after the Shinto spirit of fire. He is, with Ewan and Aldo, the top physical fire DPS.
* MortonsFork: To disobey his master would bring shame as a samurai, but to carry out his mission to [[spoiler: kill King Miglance]] would bring shame to his ancestors.
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: As a samurai, he is loyal to his master, even when he gives orders that Shion would rather not follow.
* NoTrueScotsman: No cat lover is an evil person. An evil person who has cats is not a true cat lover.
* TakeAThirdOption: He can't disobey his lord's orders because it would shame him and his lord, but he can't carry them because it would shame his bloodline. So he [[spoiler:attacks King Miglance but throws the fight everytime and reports that the king overpowered him]], knowing that he is too valuable to be allowed to commit {{Seppuku}}.

* BioAugmentation: [[spoiler:She's the result of Project Eugenes, an Elzion experiment to tamper with genetics in order to develop superhumans. Her mind couldn't handle it, causing her to break free.]]
* ChargedAttack: Her Another Style allows her to inflict multiple Wind stacks on one enemy, then spending them all with another one. The resulting damage is so high AS Suzette can alone wipe even bosses in a few turns.
* {{Chuunibyou}}: She thinks quite highly of herself. There's also the issue of her supposed origin as the dark princess of the Netherworld [[spoiler:which is both a coping mechanism and an excuse for the genetic experiments done on her]].
* ElegantGothicLolita: She wears a very frilly, elaborate dress. Her Another Style trades it for a luxurious kimono.
* LargeHam: She can't help but act overly dramatic.
* SweetTooth: Can't resist the temptation of sweet things. Her first quest has her riled up when hearing her favorite pastry shop is out of business due to delivery issues.

----
* AttractiveZombie: She refuses to mention how old she actually is (something Aldo learns the hard way), but she does reveal she’s actually a reanimated corpse.
* DishingOutDirt: As there is no dark element in the game, most of her necromancy skills deal earth damage. At least you can make a connection by the bodies coming from the ground.
* MsFanservice: Neither her outfit nor her portraits leave much to the imagination.
* {{Necromancer}}: She calls forth the dead for her attacks.
* PowerAtAPrice: Her Dark Deal skill gives her a sharp Intelligence boost at the cost of 30% of her HP.

[[folder:Yuna]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yuna_350.png]]
Yuna is a shrine maiden who serves a spirit that controls the weather. While she can summon rain, she has trouble keeping her powers in check. She travels in hopes that she can take control of her abilities.
----
* DamageOverTime: Her Invoked Spirit skill is one of the few available sources of Megapoison. This ailment behaves like a much stronger version of standard poison, capable of ticking for thousands of damage per round.
* LiesToChildren: Her family told her she couldn't summon rain because she angered the rain spirits as a child. In reality, her rainmaking abilities are so powerful that, ''as a newborn'', she summoned a storm so big the valley where her village was is today a lake.
* MagicFeather: Her final quest involves her anxiety over losing control of her powers. After she summons a torrential downpour to disable a mage's golem, Aldo hands her a shard of the broken RestrainingBolt she had on her, convincing her it's a seal. This is to give her the confidence to rein in her powers.
* {{Miko}}: She's a shrine maiden hailing from the east.
* PowerIncontinence: She wears an enchanted mirror to keep her powers under control. A long-term source of conflict in her questline stems from her inability to rein in her powers once she starts.

!!Story Characters
[[folder:Aldo/[[spoiler:Kyros Chronos/Sorik]]]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aldo_350_0.png]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KoukiUchiyama (Japanese), Jared Zeus (English)
The main character
A list of Another Eden.
* MagneticHero: He's able to attract a lot of allies to join him in his quest, especially once you count the player
all characters gotten through dreams. This includes people who would be on bad terms (Deirdre [[spoiler:before TheReveal]] in ''Another Eden''.

Due to its [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters large
and Anabel), bitter rivals (Krervo and Nonold) or mortal enemies (Miyu and [[spoiler:Shion]])
* TimeToUnlockMoreTruePotential: The Ogre Wars Part I arc
ever-expanding cast]], this page has Aldo obtain the powers of the Dragon God, gaining a 5-star Ability Board in the process.
He was actually the professor's cat, transformed
been split into a replica of Eden.

* SixthRanger: After the conclusion of part 1, she permanently joins the

* DeusExMachina: Literaly. Her [[SuperMode combat routine]] is called Deus Ex Machina Program.

* YouKilledMyFather: The war against the synth humans is personal to her, because of her mother's death.

----
* DefeatMeansFriendship: You have to fight her in a boss battle first before she joins you.

* OnlyTheChosenMayWield: Only Aldo can use it.

* TheGoodKing: He's considered a strong leader, liked by his citizens and a major threat to Miglance's enemies.
* KingBobTheNth

It has acted as a benefactor by allowing the party to look into the distant memories of the dreamers, which becomes crucial to saving them. Of course, it does this with a price, and the player has to do some legwork in progressing the Episodes first.
----

----
* CharacterDevelopment: After the bridge is completed, Aldo finds the inhabitants very different, most notably Marlowe who became much more confident and ambitious and Terry calmer as well as [[spoiler:a father]].
* HappilyMarried: Terry and Sylvia.

* SickeninglySweethearts

!!Other Player Characters

[[folder:General
General Tropes]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: Character quests expand on their backstory, even developing into a mini-arc for some.
* CombatMedic: A select few Hammer users also have the ability to heal their allies without compensating on physical damage like their staff counterparts.
* FragileSpeedster: Bow users are very fast, but suffer from rather low defenses and somewhat lackluster attacks.
* GlassCannon: Katana users typically have a very high Physical Attack stat and the Speed to execute them quickly, but have below-average HP and defenses.

[[folder:Anabel]]

* LongHairedPrettyBoy
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Even if he is only ''technically'' a king, Claude nevers shys away from his duties as an IDEA member or a student, believing being king means putting yourself at the service of his subjects.
[[/folder]]

* {{Joshikousei}}: She's a student wearing a SailorFuku.

----
* BoyfriendBluff: A classmate claims to be Sevyn's girlfriend to scare off an admirer.

----
* FunetikAksent: She has a noticeable Southern twang peppered with British slang in her lines. Oddly, nobody else in the Dragon Palace does it, except the Sea Turtles (who have a Cockney one).

[[/folder]]

----
* AllWitchesHaveCats: Bivette thinks so.

* WrongSideOfTheTracks: He grew up in a urban ghetto where crime was rampant, motivating his goal to become a cop.

[[folder:Ciel]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ciel_350.png]]

* LongHairedPrettyBoy
* ThouShaltNotKill: He avoids killing monsters and beastfolk as it will only make them go bolder to kill their friends, even if they encroach on human territory.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Denny]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/denny.png]]
A sea-faring pirate endlessly seeking freedom. Born into a noble family, Denny rebelled against his father and ran away. The epitome of confidence, he likes to look after the weak and he is beloved wherever he goes.
----
* TheCasanova

[[folder:Ewan]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ewan_5.png]]
A shady-looking weapons broker, Ewan deals in possessed blades, demon swords, weapons with a bloody history and other curious weaponry. He is very harsh toward customers who have no experience in handling evil weapons.
----
* CoatCape
* CollectorOfTheStrange: He only deals in cursed weapons and mundane ones with a bloody history. The latter don't bring as much money, but it's still a pretty penny.
* CoolShades

[[folder:Gariyu]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gariyu_350.png]]

[[/folder]]

* InnocentProdigy: She's skilled with magic, but she has no experience with the outside world and loses all her money to the first con artist she meets.

* HumanMomNonhumanDad: His mother was a human citizen of Unigan.
* LightningBruiser: He's fast and hits like a boulder. If it weren't for his low MP pool, he'd be unstoppable.
* WarringNatures: The humans and the beastfolk are enemies of each other. Lokido sides with the humans, but he looks more like a beastman.
* WolfMan: He looks like a giant purple werewolf.

----
* CutenessProximity: She'll drop everything she's doing to play with any cat she meets.
* ModestyShorts: She wears black bloomers under her dress.
* MyGreatestFailure: Mariel failed to save someone who needed his soul healed, since she only knew magic that healed physical wounds. This motivated her to leave home and gain experience, eventually leading to her joining Aldo.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101000221_base.png]]

* WalkingTheEarth: What he does in order to perfect his martial arts, fight strong opponents and bolster his legend.

----
* CatGirl: Downplayed.

* WhiteMage: Most of her skill set is devoted to healing; she only has one attack skill.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Prai]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prai.png]]
Prai is a bishop from an order of priests who focus on charity. His large build and powerful overwhelming fighting style, as well as his zeal, have given him the nickname "Fiery Friar." Something he is oblivious about.
----
* LargeHam: Expect a bombastic and zealous speech everytime Prai speaks.
* YoungerThanHeLooks: He's still in his twenties, but people tend to assume that he's older than that.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Raven]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raven_7.png]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Renri]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101030091_base.png]]
An inspector of the Elzion Judiciary, Renri is a hardworking lawbringer who wants to ensure a fair and impartial justice over the world. Despite her glowing record, her ironclad principles put her at odds with her superiors sometimes.
----
* BadassInANiceSuit: Either she gets fashion tips from Cetie, either the black and white suit with a red tie is the standard uniform for Elzion Judiciary agents.
* TheComicallySerious: She's stern and inflexible even by Elzion Judiciary standards. It makes for ''interesting'' interactions with the fabulously eccentric family of Ciel.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Rovella]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rovella.png]]
A "professional" who takes on jobs with his electronic bow, Rovella is a former soldier who got discharged after a battle with Synth Humans. Equiped with cybernetic augmentations to boost his aptitudes, he will do whatever it takes to finish a job.
----
* {{Cyborg}}
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: Rovella would kill anybody, family and pets included, as long as someone is willing to pay him the right price.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Rufus]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rufus_17.png]]
Rufus is a self proclaimed hero from Elzion, whose fists burn with justice. He gets wrapped up in all sorts of trouble while persuing heroism.
----
* AscendedFanboy: He modeled his combat style and uniform after his favorite character, and his inspiration for being a hero.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Samora]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/samora.png]]
Samora is a dwarf who loves food and cooking. Always carrying his cooking gear, he'll try to eat just about any monster that he can slay, whether it's a good idea or not. At least the team is well fed while he's around.
----
* ExtremeOmnivore: He will cook and taste anything remotely edible at least once, even if it's a monster that damages his cookware from even attempting to cook it.
* TeamChef: He'd never let his team go unfed.
* TokenMinority: He's the only dwarf in the game.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Shanie]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shanie.png]]
A practitioner of a strange martial art known as "Magic Blade." A drifter, Shanie travels from place to place, seemingly with no end in sight. Due to her looks and good nature, she's often approached by suitors. Clearly something she's trying to avoid.
----
* ChainmailBikini: Minor example.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Shannon]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101010091_base.png]]
The eldest sister of Ciel's family, Shannon is a marketing genius who leads KMS's advertising department. Despite her skills as an executive, she is known as a carefree individual once out of her office.
----
* CrazyCatLady: She adopts any stray cat she finds, resulting in her owning a dozen of them. It's no surprise she has the "Cat lover" trait.
* WeNamedTheMonkeyJack: She named one of her cats after her younger brother, Ciel.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Shion]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/another_eden_shion.png]]
Shion is a samurai from the east, who is an expert katana wielder despite his young age. Outwardly, he is reserved and cold, but he shows a lot of affection towards cats.
----
* IntrovertedCatPerson: He's not the most sociable person around, but loves cats.

Suzette is a young girl from Elzion who is supposedly a reincarnated spirit from the demon realm and the possessor of a "cursed" eye that lets her sees the surnatural. She can be foul at times, but will always aid others in need.
----
* AnAdventurerIsYou: Her vanilla version is an AOE Scrapper, while her Another Style is a pure physical Nuker.
* TheStoic: [[spoiler:Once her BioAugmentation kicks in, she becomes this until her "normal" personality takes control again when she is about to kill Aldo.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Toova]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toova_350.png]]
A woman who practices the rare art of necromancy. Toova is a mystery wrapped in an enigma, with an appropriately quirky personality to go with her unknown origin.
----
* AttractiveZombie: She refuses to mention how old she actually is (something Aldo learns the hard way), but she does reveal she’s actually a reanimated corpse.
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: Toova laments that she is for all intents and purposes immortal, and finds her life to be very lonely as a result.

[[folder:Tsukiha]]

A former princess of a bygone Eastern country, Tsukiha can turn any blade she wields into a weapon that curses enemies. She's cold and logical, believing the ends always justify the means. Within her lies a fury for the ones who destroyed her country and cursed her with these powers, seeking revenge.
----
* InTheHood: Just look at the size of that thing.
* RedRightHand: A literal case, even if she's not evil, just ''very'' angry.
* {{Revenge}}: Her ''raison d'être'' since the destruction of her country.

[[folder:Yazuki]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yazuki.png]]

[[folder:Yio]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yio.png]]
Yio is known in her hometown as a calm and collected dinosaur slayer. The truth is that she's terrified of dinosaurs, and only manages to kill them due to blind panic.
----
* ElmuhFuddSyndwome: When her fear gets to her, she slurs her words in this manner.
* {{Expy}}: Her looks and outfit evoke the Amazon from VideoGame/DragonsCrown.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Despite her fear of dinosaurs, everyone back home considers her the go-to person to deal with dinosaur problems.
[[/folder]]

* ShrinkingViolet: She has very little confidence in her abilities and skills. This turns out to be a problem as she can't use or control her rainmaking powers correctly due to her insecurities.
* SupportPartyMember: Many of her skills focus on aiding her teammates and hindering her enemies.
* WeatherManipulation: Because of her spirit, Yuna has the ability to make it rain.

* RedemptionQuest: [[spoiler: He promised to protect as many lifes with his ax as he took with it before returning to his wife.]]
* WalkingTheEarth: What he does since he left the army.
