* HistoricalVillainUpgrade: As a Voodoo Queen, Marie [=LaVeau=] was never one to turn down a person in need, often helping to get rid of curses and fight for racial equality. It is unlikely that she ever killed anybody or sold her soul for vengeance.

* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Even if she wasn't a SerialKiller, the way she behaves towards everyone of color she encounters is reprehensible.

* YourCheatingHeart: He may have been married to Marie Laveau, but he was having what seemed to be a consensual fling with one of [=LaLaurie=]'s daughters. He clearly knew that [=LaLaurie=] was torturing her slaves, and might have chosen to consent in order to avoid [=LaLaurie's=] daughter accusing him of something that would have gotten him sent to the attic. Sadly, he wound up there anyway.

* YourCheatingHeart: Cheats on Cordelia by sleeping with a pyrokinetic witch, Kaylee. [[spoiler: However, shortly after being revealed to be a witch-hunter, it is implied he did so [[ManipulativeBastard merely to lull her into a false sense of security before shooting her in the head.]] Given that his father constantly accuses him of being too compassionate to their targets, it is also implied that he has an affair for the purpose of weakening his personal attachment to Cordelia.]]
