His survival after ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys3'' wasn't ''too'' much of a sore point with the fandom, since it had already [[TheEndOrIsIt been teased]] in that game; however, ''VideoGame/FreddyFazbearsPizzeriaSimulator'' seemed designed to perfectly end his story, seeing him and all his creations- intentional or otherwise- finally meet a fiery end. His survival in the franchise after that point, both in the form of Glitchtrap in ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddysHelpWanted'' and as [[spoiler:the spirit possessing most of the animatronics]] in ''Literature/FiveNightsAtFreddysFazbearFrights'', has led to some fans saying that he has overstayed his welcome as BigBad and hoping he gets officially replaced, either by Vanny or by another new villain, from ''Security Breach'' onward.

Other camps are frustrated to essentially have it confirmed that [[spoiler:William [[KarmaHoudini escaped his fate]] yet again]], seeing the sixth game as the perfect ending for [[spoiler:his]] story arc, with both this game and ''Help Wanted'' performing a HappyEndingOverride. The fact that "The Man in Room 1280" also implies that [[spoiler:the events of ''VideoGame/UltimateCustomNight'' were '''not''' William's personal hell, but rather a BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind between him and Andrew,]] has only added fuel to the fire.

** Mangle. Mangle itself isn't really the polarizing kind of base breaker. Moreso, its gender is one. Some believe it is female as it has feminine traits (Pink and white coloring, eyelashes) and appears on the Ladies' Night preset. The ones who believe it is male say that it might've been added just to make Ladies' Night harder, and that it's based off of the male Foxy. Others TakeAThirdOption and say its gender ''is'' "yes", thanks to a MathematiciansAnswer given by Scott.
