Salem can ''only'' win in the event she gets all the Relics ''and'' humanity is still divided. It doesn't matter how many Relics Salem has if humanity is ''united'', and in fact would make uniting them ''detrimental'' to her.

* Of course, we cannot forget Ruby either. Though initially freaked out by the Hound (and why not, it was after her), when she sees it's after ''Penny'', and threatening to kill her no less, she declares "Enough" and hits it with a silver optic blast that [[Franchise/XMen Cyclops]] would be proud of, frying the Hound and sending it flying out the window, all without harming Penny. This [[LittleRedFightingHood Little Red Riding Hood]] ain't afraid of no Big Bad Wolf. True, she has a HeroicBSOD when she sees what the Hound is made of afterwards, but that doesn't negate what she did.

*** Nora unveils her weapon, and uses it to launch her and Jaune to help Pyrrha and Ren, [[DropTheHammer and hits the creature in the head]].

* After seven whole volumes of WillTheyOrWontThey shenanigans, Nora ''finally'' takes the initiative and gives Ren a BigDamnKiss to snap him out of his depressive funk over Salem. A RelationshipUpgrade in its finest.

* The last scene shows that Menagerie's chieftain [[GentleGiant may be a giant]], but he sure ''isn't'' [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness gentle when the chips are down]]. Ghira knocks out a few of the Fang troops barehanded without getting hurt or losing his cool, showing that even the peacetime White Fang [[JustForPun wasn't toothless]]. And when the Albains show up with daggers in hand and take out the other guard with him, Ghira extends his claws, throws off his cape and unleashes an ''earth-shaking'' roar while his eyes narrow.

** It's also a bit of a two-fer CMOA for Weiss in-universe. Given that for the last 8 years of her life she had been robbed of a proper childhood due to her father's abuse driving her mother to alcoholism, it's probably not a stretch to imagine that smashing those bottles must have been ''really'' [[CatharsisFactor cathartic]] for her.

*** It's also one for the people of Atlas. They're {{ungrateful bastard}}s who pretty much created a social bubble to hide in while the rest of Remnant suffers, even laughing at their misfortune as seen with the trophy wife. Ironwood pretty much enforces said bubble by turning it into a GildedCage.

** It can vary depending on the person, but Ilia's backstory where she talks about how she finally revealed her faunus nature to her racist friends in the Atlas prep school right after they laughed at several faunus dying in a mining accident. Her delivery at the end when she says "don't be (sorry). I ''[[KickTheSonOfABitch broke their teeth]]''." is chilling yet awesome.

* While it was a terrifying StartOfDarkness for Cinder, her choking out her horrendously abusive stepmother [[NotAfraidOfYouAnymore even through all her frantic attempts to shock her into submission]] is as about as satisfying as KickTheSonOfABitch gets.

* The first target of Oscar and Ozpin's new strategy? Hazel, someone who hates Ozpin with a searing passion. And it actually stands a decent chance of working from what we see. When Ozpin takes over, Hazel predictably loses it and tosses him around. Ozpin questions how, for all the reasons that Hazel hates him, Salem is the better choice to follow given her methods. Much like at Haven this actually stops Hazel, who reveals his views on such a thing. Hazel sees no possible way to fight against Salem and win, outright saying she's a force of nature. By contrast, he blames Ozpin for so much because the wizard recruits others for a war that he knows can't be won against an enemy that can never fall. Ozpin [[VillainHasAPoint doesn't even try to deny Hazel's valid condemnation]] and instead just says that ''someone'' has to stand up and fight because Salem's victory will mean the death of everything. If Salem herself hadn't shown up, Hazel may well have been convinced to pull a HeelFaceTurn right then and there.

* When Emerald reveals what she overheard to Mercury, the latter doesn't believe that Salem wants to destroy the whole world. Tyrian shows up and gleefully reveals that it is actually Salem's plan. He then mocks them for assuming anything else [[VillainHasAPoint as her intentions are blindingly obvious and any assumption otherwise is pure madness]]. Psycho or not he's not wrong, and more than likely just pushed Emerald far enough for her to actually leave this insanity.

** Blake distracts Neo!Cat with a hail of gunfire a hail of gunfire and then uses Gambol Shroud to yank herself forward for a kick. Neo!Cat escapes via an illusion clone, which the kick shatters.

** Jaune figures out how to beat Neo!Cat; He has Blake (using a Fire Dust clone) and Yang burn the Tree's leaves and Weiss blows the smoke at NeoCat. The Cat boasts that they are immune to the leave's effects, but as Jaune points out, ''Neo'' isn't. The re-awakening of Neo's suppressed feelings prove too much for the Cat, and they are forced out of the mute's body.

* The fight against NeoCat is epic. The heroes show off incredible skill, and the Cat proves themself a deadly foe:
** Blake distracts NeoCat with a hail of gunfire a hail of gunfire and then uses Gambol Shroud to yank herself forward for a kick. NeoCat escapes via an illusion clone, which the kick shatters.
** Yang shoves NeoCat backwards and then destroys several illusions of zombie-like Ruby clones.
** Jaune fares surprisingly well, landing several hits on NeoCat and knocking them backward. One goes to them, though, for giving as good as they get and easily springing back from Jaune's blows. However, Jaune eventually manages to keep NeoCat down and tries to finish them off. NeoCat promptly disguises themself as Penny for a distraction and has a Pyrrha illusion stab him InTheBack before knocking him away with a kick.
* While Yang and Blake deal with the last of the Ruby illusions, Weiss attempts a Fire Dust attack, but NeoCat evades it and causes Jaune to take the blast.

* WBY+J vs. NeoCat, Part 2:
** Blake shatters a NeoCat illusion using a maneuver with her shadows.

** Jaune figures out how to beat Neo!Cat; He has Blake (using a fire Dust clone) and Yang burn the Tree's leaves and Weiss blows the smoke at NeoCat. The Cat boasts that they are immune to the leave's effects, but as Jaune points out, ''Neo'' isn't. The re-awakening of Neo's suppressed feelings prove too much for the Cat, and they are forced out of the mute's body.

* The fight against NeoCat:

* Jaune figures out how to beat Neo!Cat; He has WBY burn the Tree's leaves and blow the smoke at Neo!Cat. The Cat boasts that they are immune to the leave's effects, but as Jaune points out, ''Neo'' isn't. The re-awakening of Neo's suppressed feelings prove too much for the Cat, and they are forced out of the mute's body.

** Yang destroys several illusions of zombie-like Ruby clones.
** Jaune fares surprisingly well, relentlessly attacking NeoCat and ignoring its illusions. He is beaten in the end by a combination of NeoCat disguising themself as Penny and a stab InTheBack from a Pyrrha illusion, but he did decently for a solo fight.

* In the fight against Neo!Cat, Jaune fares at least as good as WBY combined, showing that all those years weren't for nothing. When the girls are distracted by the clones, Jaune relentlessly puts pressure on the Neo!Cat, shrugging off a kick to the head, deflecting every other blow despite his opponent's utilization of Neo's acrobatic fighting style, and repeatedly sending the Cat flying backwards (including ''headbutting'' them mid-lunge at one moment and kicking them away at another). By the end of this short exchange, the Rusted Knight has his enemy on the ground and is winding up for the finishing attack; realizing they cannot win in a fair fight, the Cat resorts to guilt-tripping and both figuratively and literally backstabbing Jaune with the clones of Penny and Pyrrha.

* Jaune figures out how to beat Neo!Cat; He has WBY burn the Tree's leaves and blow the smoke at Neo!Cat. The Cat boasts that they are immune to the leave's effects, but as Jaune points out, ''Neo'' isn't. The re-awakening of Neo's suppressed feelings prove too much for the Cat, and they are forced out of the ice cream girl's body.

*** Despite his conservative fighting style, he {{flash step}}s twice to save Blake, displaying tremondous speed as well as his soft side. Although this is later [[{{Jerkass}} subverted]].

* A villainous example, but the fact that the cat was able to break Jaune’s aura. He’s been established to have huge reserves of it compared to others to make his semblance work, shown in how not even Cinder Fall ended up breaking it in volume 5, but the Cat managed to actually break down such a gargantuan barrier.

** The moment where she baits the Cat in to an attack, only to teleport and leave them wide open to a point blank rifle shot. Right before pulling the trigger, she genuinely smiles for perhaps the first time in the volume.
