** So, to sum it all up: Doctor Strange demonstrated himself in this scene to be quite possibly the single most badass character in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. First of all, he waltzes right up to [[EldritchAbomination Dormammu]] and brazenly declares that he has come to bargain, which is so astonishingly presumptuous that it's tantamount to [[DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu insulting him]]. Dormammu (of course) [[CurbstompBattle swiftly kills him]], only for the good Doctor to come right back and declare that he has come to bargain once again. As Dormammu proceeds to [[TheManyDeathsOfYou kill him again and again]], it slowly becomes clear that when Doctor Strange says, "Dormammu, I've come to bargain," [[ThatWasntARequest it's not a request]]. It's an ''ultimatum''. Those five little words become the ultimate BadassBoast; not only does Doctor Strange, a mere mortal, [[DidYouJustScamCthulhu have Dormammu trapped as his prisoner]], he also demonstrates staggering [[NervesOfSteel resilience]] in being willing to endure many, many, ''many'' gruesome deaths to defend the Earth, [[AndIMustScream possibly for all of eternity]]. In the words "Dormammu, I've come to bargain," Strange pulls off a XanatosGambit in the form of [[AnOfferYouCantRefuse an offer Dormammu can't refuse]]: he can either retreat and abandon his siege upon the Earth, or he can be a ''mortal man's'' prisoner in his own tiny little time-loop of a hell forever. In this troper's opinion, this all amounts to a CrowningMomentOfAwesome not just for the movie, or even just the MarvelCinematicUniverse, but almost certainly ''all'' of fiction.

* The Cape Of Levitation. Between it beating the shit out of a zealot and being a SilentSnarker to Doctor Strange, quite a few people found themselves loving the cape more than Strange himself. And as seen on this very page, that's not a mark of how bad Strange is, it's a mark of how well-written the cape is. To reiterate: Marvel made a movie where a piece of clothing is people's favorite character.

* Fittingly for a film based around manipulating time, history repeats itself. Much like [[WTHCastingAgency Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jnr.]] before him, Benedict Cumberbatch being cast as Doctor Strange caused a bit of an uproar, as there were those who thought him an overly safe choice, too bland, or just felt he was a poor choice for the Sorcerer Supreme. However, once the movie came out, tunes changed quickly, as Cumberbatch was lauded for his portrayal of Strange, being able to effectively capture both the good doctor's egotism and heroism.

* The film has earned itself a respectable 90% on Rotten Tomatoes after 250 reviews with only 24 of them turning out rotten. The fact it was able to keep up with its [[ToughActToFollow critically acclaimed predecessor]], ''Film/CaptainAmericaCivilWar'', is an incredible accomplishment, especially considering its outlandish magic setting. Basically, it's been a war for the movie to stay in the 90% league.
** In fact, if one was paying attention to how the last 50-or-so reviews were dropping, there were times where it came dangerously close to the 89% mark whenever a rotten review was released only to rise up to possibly reaching 91% again due to a new batch of positive reviews being added in return.
