In short, the protagonist and his friend Jess were playing in the woods as kids, when she was suddenly taken by some hooded HumanoidAbomination. The protagonist returns to his town and tells everybody who, despite not believing his story, immediately set out to find her. They return hours later, having not found her, and the protagonist decides to take matters into his own hands. Once his parents are asleep, he sets out, armed with only his father's .44 Magnum and a flashlight. He manages to find its lair deep into the woods, full of junk collected from its previous victims and against all odds, Jess is still alive, albeit chained to a wall. After receiving his FirstKiss and shooting the chain, they manage to evade the creature by hiding behind a table, and the protagonist even manages to successfully shoot it in the leg. They manage to run all the way back to Fenter without getting caught, and the protagonist is thanked tremendously by Jess' parents.
