* On a meta/social level, ''Bungou Stray Dogs'' is pushing a lot of boundaries. Not long ago, no one would have ever thought people of this age would be interested in literature from ages ago. Now, it's one of the most popular series! The characters themselves tend to be more complex, and can't be boxed into single categories. For example, Dazai is a bad guy turned good who can nullify abilities and has a BlueAndOrangeMorality at times, Kyouka is a LittleMissBadass who is crazy about rabbits, and Chuuya is a GravityMaster who loves wine and cusses often, etc. A few characters are also inclusive on other levels, for example, Atsushi who is an abuse survivor and has frequent signs of PTSD, and Akutagawa who has issues due to being implied to have been abused by Dazai.

* Chuuya and Verlaine's powers. Remember how Oda and Gidé created a Singularity due to their powers contradicting? It turns out Corruption is a self-contradictory Ability that creates its own Singularity without multiple Ability users, resulting in ''infinite power''.

* In ''Storm Bringer'' the fight against Verlaine, hands down- and for both sides! To defeat the assassin, Dazai brings in the entirety of the Port Mafia's forces, consisting of four hundred and twenty-two individuals including twenty-eight Ability users. He sets up fifty snipers to continuously take shots at Verlaine, giving him a DeathByAThousandCuts before subjecting him to the combined forces of several new Ability users plus Kouyou who [[MamaBear shows Verlaine why you don't mess with her subordinates]]. All this begins to finally wear down Verlaine, forcing him to [[OneWingedAngel activate Corruption]], at which point he begins taking out forces left and right. However, this is all according to Dazai's plan as the attack was actually just a ''distraction'' for Adam and Chuuya to get the drop on the assassin and finish him off. The sheer amount of firepower it takes to actually do Verlaine in and the planning on Dazai's side is quite impressive.
