* ArtisticAge: Type 2, especially in relation to more recent Pretty Cure series. Mirai and Riko in their civilian forms look about 10 when you consider that their proportions are more similar to the civilian forms of Cures [[Anime/SuitePrettyCure Muse]] and [[Anime/DokiDokiPrettyCure Ace]], and when they transform into Cure Miracle and Magical, they're about as tall as the Anime/GoPrincessPrettyCure group (who themselves are Type 1). It also doesn't help that their [[AgeInappropriateDress manner of dress is rather child-like]].

Misuse. Girliness Upgrade is when a tomboyish character becomes more feminine, not just making anything cute/girly.

* ArcSymbol: A pentagram with hearts around the star is consistently seen throughout the series. Whether it has any meaning remains to be seen, but leave it to Pretty Cure to [[GirlinessUpgrade make a Pagan symbol really cute-looking]].

Hid this one until more context is available because it may just be preference of word choice for this series as opposed to an actual case of Not Using The Z Word. While magic-user/magician and witch can be interchangeable, Mahoutsukai 魔法使い could possibly be used because it seems more neutral as opposed to majo 魔女, which may imply mischievousness (the Magicial Academy seems to be above that), has more of a harsher sound to it, and isn't really gender neutral, containing the kanji for woman.

* NotUsingTheZWord: W Word in this case. Riko is referred to as a [[TitleDrop Magic User]] rather than a witch.

->''With the magic words "Cure Up♥Rapapa!", two worlds will now be connected!''

''Maho Girls Precure'' (''Mahoutsukai Pretty Cure''; "Magician Pretty Cure"), is the thirteenth entry in the ''Franchise/PrettyCure'' franchise. It is the eleventh separate continuity in the series and will begin airing in February 2016.

One day, junior-high student Mirai Asahina spots a mysterious girl [[FlyingBroomstick flying through the sky on a broom]] and discovers there is an entire [[MagicalLand world of magic and wonder]] existing parallel to Earth. The stranger, a [[CuteWitch novice witch]] named Riko, has crossed over to this world in search of the "[[MineralMacGuffin Linkle Stone Emerald]]", and the two girls realise they somehow possess identical pendants.

When they are suddenly attacked by a minion of the Dark Sorceress Dokuroxy, their pendants shine with a blessed light and grant them incredible magical power. Now Mirai and Riko must study and fight together as both magicians and warriors: the Maho Girls Pretty Cure!

----
!! ''Maho Girls Precure'' contains examples of:
* CuteWitch: The overall theme, which is a first for the series.
* LivingToys: Or living stuffed bear. Mofulun is the first mascot in the Pretty Cure franchise to not be a fairy, instead being Mirai's beloved childhood teddy bear who comes to life after she becomes a Cure.
* MagicalGirl: It goes without saying that this applies to the whole ''Pretty Cure'' franchise, but this series is notable for putting more emphasis on the "magical" part.
* MagicalLand: Riko's homeland, and where Mirai goes to attend the Magic Academy.
