First, they let Ooarai take the high ground on the "203 Hill" [[spoiler: so that they would just be a better target for the Morser-Karl siege mortar]]. Later, in the amusement park, they attempt to use their superior firepower to disperse Ooarai's formation and take their tanks one by one. When Ooarai's main force refuses to split, they lead it in a place where they can surround it from all sides standing on higher ground. In the first case, both Miho and [[spoiler: Maho]] warn their teammates that it could be a trap. In the second case, moments before realizing that they walked into a trap [[spoiler:Darjeeling]] mutters that the enemy's behaviour seems strange.

It's currently ranked 2nd highest grossing late-night TV anime based movie behind Love Live! The School Idol Movie, and surpassing Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion.

* CorruptBureaucrat: The Head of of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) School Carriers Department who renegades on his promise [[spoiler: not to close Ooarai]] in the movie. When the Senshado Federation strongarms him into allowing one more match to [[spoiler: decide Ooarai's fate]], he uses his power to stack the deck to ludicrous levels. He chooses the University Team as their opponents, a team that has already beaten adult teams. He makes it an annihilation match when Ooarai is outnumbered by 30 to 8 with vastly inferior equipment. He signs the paperwork to allow them to field the [[spoiler: Morser-Karl siege mortar]] despite it not even loosely qualifying as an [=AFV=] let alone a tank. Basically if not for the [[HonorBeforeReason captain]] of the University Team [[ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight allowing]] [[spoiler: Ooarai reinforcements]], it would have been a CurbStompBattle.

* VisualPun: In the Theme Park, Miho enters the Tortoise Land section, we see [[http://imgur.com/0bmY9lU Thomas the Tank]](a Tortoise with ThomasTheTankEngine's face).

** Duck Team again tries pushing against an enemy tank's turret traverse WITH GUTS! and Takeo looking on thinking it doesn't do anything.

** Chi-Ha-Ten Academy, who faced a CurbStompBattle with Kuromorimine in the show, are showed to be...somewhat more compatible in the latter part of the movie.

* XanatosSpeedChess: The entire battle hinges on one side making a plan, then adjusting it on the fly when the other reacts accordingly. Alice is shown to be very good at this as she repeatedly forces the highschool teams into a corner by making strategies on the fly.

* CrazyEnoughToWork: Operation: Kill Serve. [[spoiler:Ōarai's Hetzer using Anzio's [=CV33=] as a ramp to fly up to the barrel of the Morser-karl and land a shot right through it in a stunt that blows all previous examples out the water]].

* HopeSpot: The Rabbit Team is facing Nonna's IS-2 tank and Pravda's second-in-coomand has the upper hand. Everything seems lost. Then Saki opens her mouth to speak and everybody cheers up waiting for a PreAssKickingOneLiner as in their battle with Kuromorimine's Panzerjäger Tiger (P) Elefant in [[ContinuityNod Episode 12 of the anime]]. [[spoiler:Except all she did was point out a butterfly...ending with Rabbit Team [[BlownAcrossTheRoom blown across the street]] by the IS-2's [[{{BFG}} 122 mm]] cannon]].

* TankGoodness: Of course!

* {{Wuxia}}: Senshado is a martial art. Everybody is doing impossible, reality-defying, jumps and leaps. The action scenes are deliberately depicted in fast camera. Martial artists band together due to honor and duty. Masked fighters attack from ambush. Heirs to rival martial arts styles have an epic showdown. Yes, that's right. If the [[GirlsUndPanzer anime series]] was a sports anime with tanks, [[GirlsUndPanzerDerFilm the movie]] is [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot a Wuxia movie with tanks]].

** Tanks ramping off to leap across rivers and ravines.

** Just the number of crewmen alone can show you how boned Ooarai was. As Miho walks up to exchange greetings with the enemy commander, her teammates barely fill the entirety of one hill. The University Team fills the whole ''horizon''. A stark reminder that many Ooarai tanks are undermanned in addition to being obsolete.

* ExactWords: The reasoning the MEXT minister gives to justify why he's reneged on his previous promise to Anzu that Ooarai would stay open if it won the Senshado tournament. He points out that he only said he would ''consider'' not closing the school, and not that it was a guaranteed deal.

* HopeSpot: The Rabbit Team is facing Nonna's (much more powerful) tank and the Pravda's second-in-coomand has the upper hand. Everything seems lost. Then Saki opens her mouth to speak and everybody cheers up waiting for a PreAssKickingOneLiner as in their battle with Kuromorimine's Panzerjäger Tiger (P) Elefant in [[ContinuityNod Episode 12 of the anime]]. She points out to a butterfly and... KA-BOOM!
