* Did you like that cameo of Darkwing Duck all the way back in Season 1? Well, "The Duck Knight Returns!" is an episode all about the terror that flaps in the night!

** And it shows in his performance! A lot of fans couldn't help but notice how Scrooge is now a lot like the Doctor, and were tickled by it.

** The fact that Darkwing has already been confirmed to appear and a newspaper clipping on Webby's [[RoomFullOfCrazy Wall of Crazy]] talks about sky pirates has gotten many fans excited that the show isn't just a reboot, but the beginning of an entire shared universe--one that may spawn new shows.
** ''From The Secret Case Files of Agent 22'' adds another classic Disney cartoon to the mix: ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfTheGummiBears''! Castle Dunwyn is name-dropped, the main cast (clearly identifiable from their silhouettes) can be seen in a flashback, and the episode centers around a villain's plan to create Gummi-Berry Juice (complete with the same recipe from the old show, and shout-outs to the theme song). Webby even still has a bottle of the stuff at the end of the episode, and Beakley knows the recipe, hinting at potential future callbacks to the show.
** And while it was never a part of the Duckverse, in ''Who is Gizmoduck?'' the mask of the Mighty Ducks appears on one of the Beagle Boys.
* Scrooge is falling directly towards the broken open roof of his money bin. He simply gives a determined look, before turning it into one of the most epic Money Bin jumps in ''Duck Tales'' history.
* Sharp-eyed viewers might notice in the first episode that among newspaper clippings and notes on Webby's board are a mention of Sky Pirates from ''WesternAnimation/TaleSpin'' and F.O.W.L. from ''WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck'' as well as several nods to the expanded Duck Universe.
* The show ''finally'' brings [[spoiler:Donald's sister Della]] into the animated canon. More importantly, the two latest plot points brought by the Dutch comics have been incorporated into canon, namely her pilot jacket and [[spoiler:possibly getting lost on the Moon]].

* "[[WhamLine Aunt Magica, I'm in]]." Cue the fandom screaming in excitement (and possibly [[NightmareFuel fear]]). This is even a twofold rejoice as while Magica is an immensely popular antagonist, the fact that [[spoiler:Lena is a renamed Minima]] has the fandom of the comics flipping out and wondering what other popular comic characters will appear.
** And the announcement that she's going to be voiced by Creator/CatherineTate made a lot of ''Series/DoctorWho'' fans cheer about the reunion of the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble.
** Notably, even though fans of the original show usually [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks disapprove of changes in characterization]], everyone seems to love the new, DarkerAndEdgier AdaptationalBadass Magica despite being practically [[InNameOnly a completely different character]].
* The second issue of the Duck Tales comic features a new, never-before-seen character in a major role... [[spoiler:Oh, Hello, [[UnexpectedCharacter Della Duck!]] The comics will be exploring parts of the MythArc that involve the triplet's mother as much as the present day!]]
* At first it was sad to hear that Duckworth had passed away prior to the show's premiere, [[spoiler:but to see him not just return as an [[UndyingLoyalty undyingly loyal]] (literally) ghost with a badass demon form to boot,]] it brings cries of joy.

** On that topic, Launchpad owns a ''WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck bobblehead'' that says "LetsGetDangerous".

** They first start making good on this in "From the Secret Case Files of Agent 22," which reveals that S.H.U.S.H. and F.O.W.L. really do exist, and Mrs. Beakley and Scrooge were members of the former.
*** To say nothing of the wow-factor when Ludwig von Drake makes his appearance in the same episode - as the ''head'' of S.H.U.S.H.!
*** Also from the same episode, we see Mrs. Beakley and Scrooge go on a case to learn the formula for Gummibeari Juice, confirming that ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfTheGummiBears'' also takes place in this universe.
* In "From the Secret Case Files of Agent 22", Scrooge tells Webby she can call him "Uncle Scrooge". Cue the whole fandom's heart melting.
* Those who are fans of the comics will be happy to know that [[spoiler:John D. Rockerduck and Fethry Duck]] are making their transition into the animated canon as well.

** In their debut episode proper, the Caballeros get to sing their iconic theme song. During a climactic fight scene, no less!

** But alas, this incarnation turns out to have no association with Merlock whatsover. On the plus side, D'jinn is made into a much more heroic badass than his '80s counterpart.
