Fanra: How could Fred Rogers be a battle god? No way. He was a minister in Real Life. He wouldn't fight anyone, he has the power to make anyone and any god his neighbor. By the time his opponent had taken off his shoes, put on a sweater and joined Mr. Rogers for some cocoa and a trip to Rogers' "Neighborhood of Make-Believe", he would have forgotten what he wanted to fight about. Heck, the "Neighborhood of Make-Believe" has King Friday XIII (Friday The13th) and he's never killed one person there.

Chris X: Five Words: Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny

Fanra: Bah, that's the alternate universe Mr. Rogers. Notice the goatee? :) Just because it was clever to have Mr. Rogers as the Ultimate winner doesn't mean it can overwrite his entire lifetime of real life work.

Smokie: How come Haruhi isn't an Overdeity? I mean she's the Godess of Tropes. That's like being this site's admins boss.
Rogue 7: Why on earth is Scar a greater god? Surely he strikes me as a lesser or intermediate god. He's a freaking lion who bit it in the end. Hardly godlike.

Because he's a badass lion that has supernatural powers. For example, in his villain song, Be Prepared, he walks strait through an erupting geyser and doesn't get anything more than his mane blown a bit. In the same song, he actually seems to make the earth move to form a rising pillar of rock for his to stand on, with flames coming within inches of him. Later, he survives a fight with another lion followed immediately by a several dozen (if not hundred) foot fall onto hard rock, and doesn't even get a scratch on him. He also is a fantastic example of evil family. He plans and executes a scenario where he kills his brother and nearly kills his nephew. He even made Simba think that he was the one responsible for his father's death. He's just great.

Rogue 7: As impressive as that is, it's hardly worthy of the status of "greater god". The Avatar of the nature gods does much the same, and he's merely an avatar. I'm not saying that Scar's unworthy of the status of "God", let's just keep him on his own page. Look at his competition- Haruhi, whom I don't think I need to bother explaining/Kyon, much the same, a goddess of Gods, which, though I know nothing about her, qualifies, and the Dark Lord himself. Scar's just outmatched.

EvilRocks: Fine, I'll compromise with you. Scar keeps his Greater God status, but leaves the Main House. Deal?

Rogue 7: Done and done.

Citizen: What about Chuck Norris? God of Martial Arts // Absolute // Symbol: Texas star // Alignment: Chaotic Good // Portfolio: Memetic Mutation // etc...

Susan Davis: Look under War at the moment — he's in there. Arguably, he should head that group, or move here. And "Chaotic Good?" Try Lawful Neutral...

Citizen: I say move here. He's pretty much in the Main House by definition...

Dan: No, no. We already have a God of Legendary Deeds here. We also have Fred Rogers, who at least has the Land of Make-Believe in his portfolio and who the others might include out of respect.

Susan Davis: What about Bugs Bunny? He's the ultimate Trickster figure, and an unstoppable force at almost the Haruhi level. He's (arguably misfiled) in Emotion at the moment; I'd argue that he ought to come here, or move to Mentalism.

Citizen: I'd vote against inclusion in the Main House, on the grounds that he just isn't impressive enough. Or something.

Fanra: Bugs Bunny should be in Main House. As an example of who should be in Main House, go here: http://community-2.webtv.net/@HH!92!D6!39B33CF2AFC6/Ace-Detective/USAGODS/index.html

Rogue 7: 'cept for the fact that this is a far more international site. We've got Haruhi as our main goddess , after all. And not to mention that we've probably got more international tropers than US ones.

I guess Nohamotyo belongs here, but as an Overdeity opposing Dream of the Endless? Doesn't that seem a little too Hijacked by Jesus?

Specialist290: He's supposed to be TV Tropes' resident Cosmic Horror, or at least that's the interpretation I was working on when I made the entry.

Peteman: Who put Harry Kim in here? This is for Greater Gods and up. Besides, Waspirnator is the God of Cosmic Playthings.

Ensign Harry Kim, Divine ButtMonkey

  • Minor Deity (more like the Deities' plaything)
  • Alignment: too busy getting killed to align with anything
  • Symbol: see above
  • Portfolio: Butt Monkey
  • The unquestioned Divine Buttmonkey, poor Harry Kim has been killed only to be brought back because Janeway could see no other worthy Butt Monkey.

I think that the Joker's title is a tad long. "Madness, Clowns, Crazy Laughter, Sick Jokes" can probably be summed up as insane humor, giving us "God of Insane Humor, Convoluted Executions, Destruction, and Chaos Undivided". Optimally, there'd be only three terms.
Tofu would like to wonder why Kamina isn't on this list.

How come there are only three godesses among all of the gods? And how come no one else has minded, for that matter?

  • Rule of Three? But, seriously its because no one has thought of another female character who would fit in the Main House.

Ry Senkari: In honor of the recently deceased Walter Cronkite, I'd like to nominate him for a position in the Main House. I know Jade is already the Goddess of Reporters and News, perhaps we could split those and make her Goddess of Reporters while Mr. Cronkite becomes God of News and ascends to the Main House.

LE Xicon 712: Has anyone made Billy Mays God of Advertisements yet? Just asking.

I nominate all members of the SOS Brigade to be in the Main House. They together could be the Gods of Five Man Bands. Either that, or we can make the Voltron pilots those gods.]]

rbx5: It may be a bit much, but shouldn't we include the Valar in here somewhere? Also, when the Valar were first concieved, I don't think their respective natures had been defined yet; they'd been given free will, though, which explains how Melkor could still be technically an aspect of Eru but still go sour like he did. Speaking of Eru, if Melkor is the God of Evil and all, wouldn't it make sense to have Eru be the God of Good?

Schizo Technician: Eru isn't Melkor's equal, though. If we're going by LOTR definitions, then it'd go to your suggestion to include the Valar, and would be Manwe. On the other hand, the Valar are much too obscure to fill up a page with. My suggestion is to toss a few references here and there to them being gods that died due to lack of worship, with Eru the Creator, Melkor the Enemy, and Sauron the Lieutenant being the only survivors of that divine dynasty. Like, the Valar were the Titans, who died of the divine equivalent of old age/starvation, and were by and large replaced by the incumbents.

rbx5: Good point; plus I completely forgot about Melkor not being Eru's equal.

TakerFoxx: Bit of a nitpicky point, but shouldn't Dream's symbol be his helmet instead of his ruby? After all, it's what he uses for his sigil.

Saiyan5nine-tails: With the recent position he has been given in Blackest Night, would it be possible to consider placing Nekron into the main house? His goals seem to make him a candidate for the same job posting as Anti-Monitor (whom is currently imprisoned in the Black Power Battery). I've put him up in the Life and Death section of the Pantheon already.
