Working Title: Mermaid Problem: From YKTTW
Lale: Should this really be under Did Not Do The Research? Because, you know... mermaids aren't real. It's more like an inexplicable pervasive fantasy trope combined with Fridge Logic: Why are mermaids considered sexy?
Trouser Wearing Barbarian: I agree that it shouldn't be in Did Not Do The Research, though I'm not sure which index it should be in.
Ace Of Scarabs: I always thought that mermaids had dolphin style intimate, um, parts.
m: I moved this section from the main page to here while I was sorting the examples:
- At the risk of sounding lewd, the common mermaid does have a mouth...
- And hands! Some writers just have no imagination.
- Not to mention an anus. And since you could create a mermaid with a dolphin or manatee lower half, there really doesn't have to be a problem at all...Except for the Squick factor.
- And hey, it could be something like why you never see the naughty bits of cats and dogs in kid's cartoons and such.
- Whereas the fish headed mermaid has no real say in the matter, the one with the human head will only sexually gratify you if it wants to, so don't get on it's bad side
