Ack Sed: I think Bleachs Mayuri Kurotsuchi could be added here, though he's far more sadistic than most, boasting of the thousands of souls he's 'studied' "until they were nothing but pulp",i.e. dead. He's so villainous it's a mystery why he hasn't been expelled from Soul Society. He's not even a Heroic Sociopath;they have feelings. Ack Sed: Ah,found it - Psycho for Hire.

Citizen: Here's another suggestion, if you don't mind replacing the current picture. =P

Cassy: I love the picture on the main page, where does it come from? It's hilarious!

  • to Citizen: wuv your picture even more, but I think she fits more into the 'evil nurse' or Yandere fetish than into this trope. Then again, I'm not familiar with this scene in Tsukihime.

Silent Hunter: We have Hot Scientist and we have Mad Scientist, but are any combinations of the two- an attractive female mad scientist? It will be interesting to see whether the BBC's latest adaptation of Frankenstein, with a female Dr. Frankenstein, takes that route.

:In anime and manga, yes. In other media, I'm not so sure.

Khathi: But what a specimens we have ther! Like Grace O'Connor from Macross Frontier, for example.

Byakugan01: You forgot Franken Fran. This has been remedied...and she's ALSO a frankenstein like creation of another Mad Scientist to boot.

dkellis: Out of interest, what would Dr. Steel be classified under? Musician with a Mad Scientist motif.

Bob: Probably an amalgam of Mad Scientist and Mad Artist. If he use his music as a weapon then throw in a bit of Musical Assassin in the mix.

dkellis: No, he's an actual real-life musical artiste. It's just that his songs and live performances portray him as a Mad Scientist, "on-stage". I was mostly wondering whether to put him under Real Life or a new Music subheading.

Bob: I say create a new Music subheading. Unless he is a Mad Scientist off-stage as well.

Silent Hunter: Mengele isn't worthy of the title "scientist".
Fast Eddie: too many quotes "When it came to getting weird things done, sane beat mad hands down."

"Everyone's always in favor of saving Hitler's brain, but when you put it in the body of a great white shark, OOOOO, suddenly you've gone too far!"

—Professor Farnsworth, Futurama

"My Moon-based Death Ray / Panics the people of Earth. / Mock my theories now!"

—Andrew G Mc Cann

fleb}: Two isn't exactly too many, but this one is really long:

I know you're desperate, I really sympathize
I see the morbid horror flicker in your eyes
But rest assured I'm gonna help to ease your pain
I'm gonna put a thousand tiny implants in your brain
— Motorhead, "I'm the Doctor"

Zephid: Don't hesitate to axe the Blood Meridian quote. Already it looks like others are going to add more quotes, and it only works by itself really. Too long otherwise. Actually, nevermind, I'll take it out now.

"The man who believes that the secrets of the world are forever hidden lives in mystery and fear. Superstition will drag him down. The rain will erode the deeds of his life. But that man who sets himself the task of singling out the thread of order from the tapestry will by the decision alone have taken charge of the world and it is only by such taking charge that he will effect a way to dictate the terms of his own fate."
Judge Holden, Blood Meridian (not a Mad Scientist)

Saeder: I'm not sure if it should go on the page, but most Mad Scientists are actually Mad Engineers.
