Barano: "kimoi doumei" means "alliance of ugliness" - it's more like a fan club for people who like ugly characters/things. "Busukawaii" (lit. "ugly cute") is the actual term for the trope.

Do you mean from Gorillaz?

Most likely the Music folder. I already moved 2D (another Gorillaz character) to that folder.

Does this trope cover cuteness which is twisted into ugliness, or is that (as I understand it to be) the inversion of this trope?

If so, is there a trope for that?

Soooooooo...since Troper Tales is gone, can we add Real Life examples again? We'll just make sure that users lump related animals into expanded bullet points.

The Leopard Gecko is Ugly Cute, along with its cousin, the African Fat-Tailed Gecko.
- Geckos in general are Ugly Cute, really.
