Why is this listed under the Dramedy category?

Should the trope The Hero Dies qualify for a Tear Jerker? I'm asking because I've seen a couple examples where fans have cried over the hero's death in some works (especially since he/she was lovable).

Should Player Punch be put in the Tear Jerker index? I think it should.

Upon creating my new account (my old one has been lost to the ages), I have decided to go from page to page, deleting "If you don't cry at X, you have no soul/heart/conscience" entries.

Apparently I'm some kind of super mega ultra fiend for not crying at things that make other people cry.

Yeah, that was an annoying piece of Word Cruft. I feel delighted that it's being removed.

Is there a way to get rid of statements like "if you didn't cry, you're a heartless robot" or variants of? I'm tired of indirectly being called a monster just because I don't cry as often as other tropers.

Editing the page? Those comments have no place here. I don't think there'd be a way to find and remove all of them at once, since the wording can vary.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

just search "cry", "crying", "cries", "cried", "tears", "eyes", "sand", and "dust".... Oh God that is a lot. Good luck.

is it just me or did a boatload of real life examples- including everything for pets/ animals, prominent deaths and the world wars- just vanish?

No, that's exactly what happened. I think they are trying to streamline things.

From March 8: "This section seems to suffer from the same problems that eventually led to Troper Tales being purged from the site (natter, mostly in the form of revenge porn— especially in the Pets section— and misery poker). Maybe No Real Life Examples should apply?" I think this is what they are trying to implement.

Isn't Tear Jerker meant to be "Crowning Moment of Sadness"? Heartwarming Moments ain't sad and yet they're lumped in here.

Has anyone here played Radiant Historia? And if so, would anyone be willing to help me make a Tear Jerker page for it? All things considered, I'm surprised there's not one already there...

Hey, just to point out something can you guys please refrain from saying something along the lines of "The whole movie of X" or "Every song ever done by X"? That's not very specific and it kinda makes everything said after and before it about the work redundant if there's other examples posted from the same work. I especially find these on specific subpages for some works.

With the Playing with a Trope page, could we get a better 'Exaggerated' example? The one currently there made me laugh.

Shouldn't we open a new section for Visual Novels in this trope? Many other tropes like Awesome Music or Tsundere has a section for Visual Novels.

Why does this trope have double indexing? Works are listed both on the main page and the media category subpages or sometimes only in one, but not the other. All other "Moment Of X" pages don't have the works index on the main page to avoid such redundancy, not to mention it looks better.

Per some of the recent renames, how about we rename this Sad Moments?

Sad Moments doesn't have anywhere near the kind of weight to it that Tear Jerkers does.

This is more a suggestion than anything else, but i believe this would fit well as the image for the Tear Jerker page for webcomics. Any one agree?

The Harry Potter sub-section is red, and appears to have disappeared from the main literature sub-section, presumably because there's supposed to be a dedicated section. This means it seems to have been nuked altogether. Does that mean start from scratch or can it be recovered?
