Can this apply to things that aren't characters?
The example I'm trying to place is J. K. Rowling hating writing the Quidditch scenes in Harry Potter
I'm removing the entry about Ikuhara's dislike of Mamoru because there is no evidence of it. In one interview he said: '"...if I have a guy in the show, the love relationship gets to have a bigger role than the show. And that would be an interesting element, but I wouldn't want that to make that the scene-stealer of the show. Most other shoujo shows are in that direction. It's about who-and-who are getting together, or who-and-who are breaking up. I thought it would be a loss if that would be the big motif just because a girl was the main character. I think there could be more shows with other motives than that."' So he was not against Mamoru as a character, but rather the focuse given to their relationship in the manga.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.
ATT is debating these removed fanwork examples. Aguments for cutting are it being disliking character (or the versions) they wrote not characters from the source material, it about not enjoying writing about them so liking bashing them is misuse, or unliked official works fanworks can just remove them if they really didn't like them that way.
Here are the removed examples for further discussion if valid/a better fit for something else.
