Total Drama Legends is a Total Drama fanfic written by MarkLevins.

Taking place sometime after The Ridonculous Race, Chris has gathered 22 contestants across various generations to compete in another season:

From Total Drama Island: Gwen, Courtney, Owen, Duncan, Heather, Noah, Leshawna, Cody, and Tyler

The World Tour newcomers: Alejandro and Sierra

From Revenge of the Island: Mike, Zoey, Dawn, Scott, Jo, and Lightning

From Pahkitew Island: Jasmine, Amy, and Samey

From The Ridonculous Race: The Police Cadets, Sanders and Macarthur

The contestants find themselves travelling in the Jumbo Jet, back on the Film Lot, and taken to a new set of campgrounds as they compete for not one, not two, but five million dollars.

The story concluded on September 2021. The author is currently writing a sequel series, Total Drama: The Legends Go On a series of shorter stories following some of the contestants after the season ended.

This fanfiction contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Sexuality:
    • In canon, both Courtney and Gwen have only shown attraction to boys. Here, they are at least bisexual as they are revealed to be in a Secret Relationship with each other.
    • In canon, Jo is heavily implied to be straight, lamenting that she's never kissed a guy when she's worried that she'll die in the mines. Here, she's revealed to be a lesbian, and is dating a female influencer.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: During Mall Brawl: Final Four, it's revealed that Jo is dating an internet celebrity named Ambie. They're all shocked for different reasons:
    Sanders: Jo has a girlfriend?!
Sammy: Jo's dating an internet celebrity?!
Duncan: Someone voluntarily decided to date Jo?! Like, were there no other options?!
  • Back for the Finale: Jasmine, Leshawna, Sanders, and Macarthur all return as chosen helpers for the finale, Jasmine and Leshawna for Sammy and the Cadets for Jo.
  • Batman Gambit: Used by Jo against Heather. She has Dawn read Heather's aura, causing Dawn to find out about every horrible thing Heather's done and confront her about them, which in turn, infuriates Heather enough to walk out of the challenge, costing her team the challenge. This winds up angering the rest of the Vengeful Bobcats enough that all of them except Alejandro end up voting Heather off.
  • Big Bad: Amy serves as the story's primary antagonist, manipulating and betraying various contestants, as well as going out of her way to make Samey more miserable than ever, be it making Samey look bad in front of their teammates or getting the people close to her voted off.
  • Brick Joke: At the beginning of Splash and Burn, Chris has Dawn straightjacketed and removed from the premises when she begins complaining about the damage the episode's challenge will do to the environment. During the elimination ceremony at the end of the episode, Chris comments that he feels like there's Something We Forgot, only for a freed Dawn to come out of nowhere at the end to begin chasing after Chris.
  • The Bus Came Back:
    • Mike and Leshawna are brought back to compete early in the merge due to their eliminations being a result of unfair sabotage from Feral Sierra.
    • After Chef organizes a coup in When Interns Attack, Chris is eventually brought back as the host after being replaced by Don early in the merge.
  • Call-Back:
    • Just like in All-Stars, Lightning is the second person eliminated.
    • During the episodes taking place on Kihci Island, Chris has each contestant eliminated in those episodes leave the island using the elimination method used in their debut seasons. The exceptions being Mike, who exits via the Flush of Shame as a Kick the Dog moment by Chris; Cody, who is forced to exit via the Cannon of Shame rather than the Boat of Losers in order to get Feral Sierra as far away from the competition as possible; Macarthur, who, having only participated in The Ridonculous Race until now, also chooses the Cannon of Shame as her elimination method; and Mike's second elimination with Zoey, who both take the boat.
    • Jo reveals she met her girlfriend after she opened up her gym with the prize money share she got when Cameron won Revenge of The Island.
  • Creator's Pest: In-Universe, when asked by Jasmine why so few of the third generation are participating in Legends, Chris explains it's because he hates most of the Pahkitew Island cast:
Chris: I mean, you've got the guy who did nothing but make sound effects, the guy who wouldn't shut up about being 'evil', the girl that actually was evil and almost killed me...
Jasmine: And the rest of us.
Chris: ...the wizard obsessed girl, Ella, the guy that tried to take my job and the guy obsessed with zombies.
Jasmine: Don't talk about my boyfriend like that.
    Chris: Whatever...you asked.
  • Dating Catwoman: Sanders, a By-the-Book Cop falls for troublemaking criminal Duncan. In fact, the latter actually tries to deny his feelings because of his trope as he's not sure if it will work out.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After years of abuse at the hands of her twin sister, Sammy ends up winning the season, beating Jo in the "canon" ending.
  • Easily Forgiven:
    • Zig-zagged with Noah's newfound cruelty. After Noah realizes he alienated himself from the rest of his team, even Owen, he apologizes for how he was acting. Owen accepts the apology almost immediately, and convinces the team to vote him off in order to save Noah. Jasmine however, the main target of Noah's bullying, rejects Noah's apology, not believing it to be genuine. It takes several more chapters before Noah finally earns Jasmine's forgiveness.
    • Apparently played straight offscreen with Ezekiel towards Chris. After Duncan incorrectly guesses him as one of the top ten contestants who hate Chris during the Total Drama Trivia Challenge, Chris explains that Zeke apparently got out of rehab a year ago and apparently doesn't hold anything about him becoming feral against Chris.
  • Everyone Has Standards: By the time of the Mojave Desert challenge, Jasmine is still extremely distrustful and mad at Noah. However, when she sees him struggling with the heat, she still helps bring him to the finish line. When questioned, Jasmine admits that while she's still mad at him, she doesn't have it in her to leave him to die.
  • For the Evulz: Amy arranges for the eliminations of Dawn, Jasmine, and Leshawna (twice!) because she knows they're close to Samey and that their being voted out of the competition will increase her sister's misery.
  • Heads or Tails?: After narrowing their choices on who to eliminate after losing the challenge in Splash and Burn to Sanders and Macarthur, the Shark Cowboys decide upon a coin flip to determine which one it's going to be.
  • Hidden Depths: Sierra apparently managed to publish an unauthorized guide to Total Drama and its contestants.
  • In-Series Nickname: Enforced; Samey explains to Leshawna that the reason everyone except Jasmine calls her that instead of her actual name, Sammy, is because Chris and/or Amy have it in her contract that she can only be referred to as "Samey." This gets dropped after Sammy grows a spine and eliminates her sister, with Chris finally calling her "Sammy" for the first time.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: During Chris' final sign off, he's pushed out of the helicopter into the water by the winner and their helpers.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Throughout the story, Duncan and Zoey grow a strong bond, playfully teasing each other, and frequently helping the other out during their relationship issues. At one point, Duncan explicitly admits that he views Zoey more as an annoying sister when the idea of the two dating comes up.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Sammy apparently didn't keep up with what happened on Pahkitew Island following her elimination, so when reading through the Pahkitew Island section for the Total Drama Trivia Challenge, she's genuinely surprised to discover things like Scarlett's rampage or Ella's princess gimmick.
  • Made Out to Be a Jerkass: Amy claims to Leshawna that Samey's a Manipulative Bastard who tries to make herself look good, then arranges for Leshawna to find Samey standing up for herself against Amy several times afterwards to continue allowing Leshawna to buy into the lie. It isn't until Leshawna ends up talking to Dawn after witnessing Samey break down in the non-confessional bathroom that she realizes the truth.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: Mike repeatedly mistakes Zoey assisting or comforting Duncan during his emotional problems as the two seeing each other behind Mike's back.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Sanders, who is never given a first name in canon, is given the first name Mikayla in the story.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: Cody is directly eliminated by Chris due to his presence leading Feral Sierra to repeatedly attack the contestants and interfere with challenges.
  • Opposites Attract: Sanders, a respectful By-the-Book Cop, develops feelings for Duncan, a troublemaking delinquent who just recently got out of jail. Duncan begins to feel the same way for her, but tries to deny it partially because of their different statuses of cadet and felon. Eventually, the two get together after Gwen gets herself eliminated convincing Duncan to stop denying his own feelings.
  • Out-Gambitted: Scott plans to purposely lose the challenge in All You Can Shoot so that his teammates will all vote him off, at which point he'll use the immunity idol he found earlier to get Jo eliminated instead. Unfortunately, in order to have a second vote against Jo, he reveals his plan to Amy, who instead steals the immunity idol during the challenge, leaving Scott high and dry at the elimination ceremony. By the time he figures out what happened, he's already in the Hurl of Shame.
  • Put on a Bus: After being perfectly willing to abandon an injured Courtney in the Mojave Desert, the producers force Chris to take a temporary leave of absence, replacing him with Don.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Owen gives one to Noah for his increasingly cruel behavior after Noah's petty grudge against Jasmine results in a cherished DVD of hers getting destroyed and Jasmine leaving in tears.
    Noah: Owen, I-
Owen: I am done with you. I am done with this stupid revenge plot that you have. I actually kinda like Jasmine. I saw the season she was in and I was really excited to meet her. Now she probably hates me because of you. Back in our seasons, you at least had a sense of humor. You were never a bully.
Noah: But I never won those seasons.
Owen: What does being a big jerk have anything to do with winning a season?
Noah: Owen. Sometimes you have to be a jerk to-
Owen: That's a lie! You're not trying to win, you're just being a bully. You make people feel ashamed by talking down to them. You made Jasmine feel so inferior about herself. Have you ever thought how constantly insulting her and bringing her down makes her feel? I don't like bullies. And right now, you're the biggest one I've ever met. And as far as you and I are concerned, you're no longer my little buddy!
  • Sadistic Choice: After Jo's Batman Gambit turns the rest of the Vengeful Bobcats against Heather, Alejandro is forced to either vote alongside the rest of his alliance and vote out Heather or vote alongside his girlfriend and alienate himself from his allies. He ends up choosing the latter, resulting in his own elimination in the following episode.
  • Sanity Slippage: Sierra is revealed to have gone feral in a similar manner to Ezekiel after her elimination.
  • Secret Relationship: Gwen and Courtney are revealed to have started one prior to the story.
  • Significant Wardrobe Shift: At the end of Mall Brawl: Final Four, Sammy's changed her outfit and hairstyle to further emphasize her escape from Amy's shadow.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Noah goes from simply being a sarcastic and apathetic contestant to a petty and manipulative bully, frequently harassing or playing mindgames on ally and opponent alike to throw them off, and pressuring Owen to help him sabotage one of their teammates, Jasmine. He eventually comes to regret his actions after being called out by Owen for his behavior.
  • Took a Level in Kindness:
    • Deconstruction. After the two form an alliance partway through the merge, Amy genuinely starts to warm up to Samey, even sacrificing herself to help Samey win a challenge. However, Samey gradually grows uncomfortable with Amy's underhanded ways, and doesn't want the alliance to be the way that Amy and Samey's relationship gets repaired. Eventually, Sammy uses her sole vote to eliminate Amy, causing the latter to go back to her mean behavior.
    • Duncan, whose time in prison helped him to regret his actions in World Tour and All Stars. With the help of Zoey, he is able to become a kinder person, even getting into a relationship with Sanders, and winning back Gwen and Courtney's respect after saving the latter from near-certain death in the Mojave desert.
  • Unknown Rival: Mike treats Duncan with contempt due to believing he's trying to steal Zoey from him. Duncan's reactions to this however range from mild confusion to complete obliviousness. Even when voting confessionals are revealed to the contestants, one of them showing that Mike tried to get Zoey to vote off Duncan, Duncan doesn't even react to this.
  • Villainous BSoD: In TM: Training Monatge, Noah takes Owen's "The Reason You Suck" Speech listed above extremely hard, to the point of flat-out not even trying the challenge, and giving up the competition entirely. He doesn't snap out of it until he realizes he might lose Emma (his girlfriend) too and apologizes to Owen and Jasmine.
  • We Used to Be Friends: When Interns Attack reveals that Amy and Samey used to get along really well as children. Samey even tries to repair their fractured relationship.
  • Wham Line: After Samey uses her vote to eliminate Amy in The (Roman) Empire Strikes Back, Chris has this to say:
Chris: Well, I was definitely not expecting that... but in any case, you still win the challenge. And because of that, you'll be spending your time in first class, until our next destination. What do ya think of that Sammy?
  • Wham Shot: Gwen and Courtney kissing each other as the latter is being taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries in the Mojave Desert.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gwen gives this to Jasmine in Don't Get Cooky after the latter takes advantage of Noah's attempting to make up for his earlier jerkish behavior towards her by getting Noah to inadvertently throw the previous episode's challenge in Jasmine's favor.
