I think they're talking about AFIS 100 Years Series and its subpages being linked on trivia pages.

A very brief check suggests that costanton11 has been doing this with the edit summary "Useful Notes pages are not tropes". But Trivia items are not tropes either making this reasoning incorrect?

Looking at it, you were adding it as if it were a Trivia trope, but Useful Notes are not actually tropes.

EDIT: Looking at Main/Trivia, it says:

You can also add Trivia items that don't fit any category or premade page as long as they are legitimately trivia and not tropes or Audience Reactions.

FYI, each of those movies are indexed (you can see it at the bottom of the page) as one of AFI's 100 years series already.

I mean... AFI isn't exactly small potatoes, it's kind of a big deal. I think it's fair for that info to be included on the trivia page. Granted, that's just me.

You can add miscellaneous trivia things separate form the article list. I'm not sure if it's necessary for the AFI lists since as ^^ said, they're all indexed.

They are all indexed, but that doesn't cover placement, multiple entries (e.g of songs), etc.

AFI is essentially an award/reviewer; this information doesn't belong on the Trivia subpage.

Uh... I'm pretty sure the Trivia subpage is exactly where information like that should go.

Why would an Audience Reaction go on the Trivia subpage? That makes no sense.

I agree that these are Audience Reactions and not Trivia.

For what it’s worth, the main AFI page is in the Useful Notes namespace, while the pages for the individual lists are in the main namespace. Should they be moved?

^ I would say yes, lists of movies (no matter how prestigious the curators are) aren't tropes.

I think it would be worth adding them to Tropes Needing TRS, similarly to what was done with Films Discussed By Moviebob a while back.

I'm not sure they're exactly comparable situations, as these are lists specifically put together by an organization, while that was basically a recap page for a reviewer.

It is notable if a film has won or been nominated for any film industry award. It is also notable if the American Film Istitute (or similar national groups) have honored a film with a listing of this kind. As a cataloging librarian, I added this info in a note, to assist the patron in judging the movie.

For this site's purposes, I think they are Audience Reactions, as are reviews in general.

For what it’s worth, there was another ATT thread asking about the namespace for those pages, but I can’t find it at the moment.

Worth reminding people that the Trivia tab, at present, can also be used for general trivia, which may include a place on an official list like this.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

What does "general trivia" mean, exactly? Just anything people know about the work that they think is neat and not part of the narrative or audience reaction? That sounds a bit unsightly to me.

General trivia means fun little details that may be interesting. I don't think we've classified individual awards as an Audience Reaction, though; Audience Reactions is a category for the less specific reactions.

Should the namespaces be moved for the lists or not?

^I think that might be a matter for TRS, so maybe they could be added to Tropes Needing TRS (as I previously mentioned).
