Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

resolved BadWritingIndex
Recently, Kelvin G added many new entries to Bad Writing Index. Twice they're objectively wrong. Once they added Show, Don't Tell...then proceed to tell the reader to does what's that trope. And today, they added So Bad, It's Horrible despite being on darth wiki and thus not belong there. There're many more questionable addition, please check the page's history.
It sadden me, but this might be signal to lock the page.
Edited by Kuruniresolved YMMV Recap Page Question
Why isn't there a list of YMMV pages for individual episodes of a work? As far as I can tell, the only way to know a Recap page has a YMMV page too is to click on that episode's recap page and see the other tab. Wouldn't listing/indexing the Recap YMMV pages somewhere (like on the work's recap page) make it easier for them to be found by those who are looking for them? Especially for works with dozens of recap pages for episodes.
For example it could look like this: (From Game of Thrones)
Edit: Fixed formatting. I hope.
Edited by EmeraldSkyresolved Boo To The Zoo
I noticed this page got deleted. I wish to know why. Also, since I notice a draft of it still available that appears to have an overwhelming amount of support, I am willing to relaunch it in the event that the reason(s) it got deleted before can be fixed.
resolved Attack Dog In Chief Deletion
I noticed that the recently launched Attack Dog In-Chief trope page has just recently been deleted. I am curious as to why?
resolved Franchise.StarWarsTheHighRepublic
Franchise.Star Wars The High Republic currently lacks the "works in three namespaces" requirement for Franchises, but is also based on an unreleased work. Since it can't go in Franchise, where should it go?
resolved UsefulNotes Characters
I found Characters.UCI World Tour, which is basically a list of teams that partook in the event. Since it's not a fictional work, should it have a characters page?
Edited by costanton11resolved Odd Headscratchers
While looking at namespacing issues, I found Headscratchers.Death Notes In Other Fiction. I'm not sure this is a valid use of the namespace, as it doesn't seem to be about Fridge Logic about the work's content. Admittedly, I know nothing about this series, but this might be a relic from when Headscratchers was called "It Just Bugs Me."

Characters.Eight Bit Book Club
Three characters, one has only a ZCE trope, another has three tropes with two being ZCE, and the last one has four with two being ZCE while Ms. Fanservice one isn't an example.
All three have a Character Alignment trope which don't belong on a character sheet, especially as ZCE.
In short, the sheet only has two good tropes (and I think they're barely passable), no character description.
Edited by Kuruniresolved Full Metal Jacket: UnbuiltTrope for DrillSergeantNasty? Film
As the entry on the Drill Sergeant Nasty page notes, Gunnery Sergeant Hartman is the Trope Codifier, but at the same time he also deconstructs the trope, because he is actually a genuinely bad example of how a Drill Sergeant should perform his duties, and even his own actor — a retired real-life Drill Sergeant — noted that he'd have been in serious trouble if he'd ever acted like that. So, doesn't this make Full Metal Jacket an example of the Unbuilt Trope when it comes to Drill Sergeant Nasty? In fact, double-checking, it's actually listed on the Unbuilt Trope page for live-action film, so shouldn't it be edited to address that connection on the Drill Sergeant Nasty page?
Edited by WanderingBrowserresolved Starting a Page for a Certain Fanfic Work
Hello. I've been on here a while, and I've recently decided that I'd like to try to create a tropes page for the Naruto fanfic, The Element Of Time by Rasenshur1ken. It has already been included amongst the Peggy Sue section of the Naruto Fanfic Recs page, and I feel that it is perhaps worthy of its own trope page. However, I am not entirely certain of exactly what I'm supposed to do in order to successfully create one. If at all possible, could I receive some pointers on how to create such a page? I'd greatly appreciate any and all possible assistance in this matter. Thanks.
resolved Never Live it Down
The description for Never Live It Down mentions that it refers to when characters are defined by a certain event. However on the various subpages, there are examples referring to works as a whole. Are those misuse?
resolved Quick question about PM deletion
Would "Delete All" command really delete all messages, or just all on that page?
I've 27 pages of PM in my box and would like to clean anything older than the last year.
resolved Character sheet without entries
Is it kosher that a character sheet is formatted like this? Despite being a character sheet, the examples in the page are not even listed under individual characters (or creatures in this case), and are just arranged in an alphabetical order like a work page.
resolved Wrong namespace?
Is Tropes Races on a valid namespace, or does the information have to be moved to a character page?
resolved Using ROCEJ to cover anti-LGBT? Web Original
This is in RPC Authority's description.
In fact, most of the founders and writers of the wiki are former SCP writers themselves who left the SCP Foundation for complicated reasons that are best left undiscussed, and formed the wiki in 4chan.
Consider that the "best left undiscussed" reason is SCP wiki being pro-LGBT and yearly celebrate Pride Month, is it really covered by ROCEJ?
resolved You can't use playing with when troping real life, can you?
Home by Christmas. The trope isn't on NRLEP so there's no problem with Real Life folder itself. However, The Big Bopper added several Averted Trope, Inverted Trope, and call one "played straight" (and this one is minor Wall of Text) to Real Life folder World War II entry.
Edited by Kuruniresolved recap page not being made Western Animation
I've been working on making recap pages for episodes of The Emperor's New School. However, when I make one for The Emperors New School S 1 E 20 The Yzma The Stole Kuzcoween Monster Masquerade, it doesn't appear even after I hit save. the link becomes blue on the recap home, but the page itself says the article doesn't exist. Anybody else having this problem?
From what I can gather from the page, many of the Dear Negative Reader aren't contained in the works themselves, but later responses. Is it correct to list such examples on works' Trivia pages, as they aren't actually part of the work?
