JO was actually the only anime reviewer on that site I enjoyed, also the only reviewer that I follow that I'm older then.

for the 100th Anime Abandon,Sage covered MD Geist, which is quite fitting...But I was wondering something:he mentioned something about Media Blasters was founded due to issues with CPM's founder, what was he talking about exactly?I couldn't find any info on the internet about that.

It's a little hard to find much information that they don't directly release. They seem to be kind of private.

Today in Motyka5 and Channel Awesome's New Talent:

  • New show debuts on the site: Shark Movies, "a series re-imagining your favourite movies, with less coherent storytelling and more mauling." And more shark, I'll say. Their Jurassic Park episode is kind of funny.

  • Horror Guru posted his new episode, The Deadly Spawn. It was actually the first video of his that I watched. My thoughts? Well, while the content of the review is decent–Guru's comedy style reminds me of The Cinema Snob with a bit more analysis–his over-modulated voice grows tiresome after a while.

So far, here's my personal estimation of the new talent.

iRawss is easily the best addition (excluding SF Debris, who really is his own entity apart from the site). "The Good Hook" looks at a niche that would otherwise go mostly untouched, and he has enough finesse to critique religious films without bashing the religious.

That Jerk With A Camera is close behind. I'm still amazed that he's allowed to film so much at the Disney parks.

The third category are the other shows which made me seek out the rest of their videos after seeing their new stuff: Rerez, MMO 2 MUD, Horror Guru, Count Jackula and Shark Jumping. I'm not into video games but the first two shows concentrate more on the tech aspects and the societal aspects, respectively, which are more interesting for me. Guru and Jackula cover some ground held by other reviewers (especially the Cinema Snob, Phelous and Lupa) but have enough personality to really be entertaining. I'm counting Shark Jumping in this category despite not having any pre-TGWTG material because it's at the same comedy level as the other four.

Not personal favorites but still pretty good include Chris Stuckman, Stuff You Like, Foldable Human and Rantasmo, who may make the jump up to the next category after that review of "The Hole".

And then there's the sketch comedy troupes. I don't think I've seen a really funny video from any of them yet—not even Shark Movies. I'd be a little less miffed if not for the exclusion of Isle of Rangoon from the site while these other guys got on. Did Greg and Trent spit in Doug's coffee at Magfest or something?

Jerk I'm most hopeful for, and the one that made me laugh the hardest. We've seen him get away with so much at the Disney parks, let see how much he can get with at Universal!

[up][up][up] I gotta agree, the sketch comedy guys are largely hit-and-miss, with emphasis on "miss".

Chris Stuckmann seems like a likeable dude, and he has charisma and screen presence, but nothing in his videos has made me go "Yeah, I've gotta watch this guy" yet.

*Some Jerk

Allowed, does it clandestinely, same difference, right? I'm guessing the reason they get away with it so much and so well is because the way they go about it they blend in well, just using Flip cameras around the park and on themselves. They don't attract immediate suspicion because they look like tourists still.

[up]SJWAC's Escape from Tomorrow vlog was great. "The movie's getting a lot of publicity because apparently you're not allowed to film in Disneyland, which is news to me."

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

i remember that vlog first half was him joking then he saw the film and the second half is more or less him saying what the hell was that

Today in Motyka5 and Channel Awesome's New Talent:

  • Terror Obscura debuts on the site with Friday the 13th. I'm kind of busy today, so I don't have time to check his video out yet but I'm going to do so in a next few days.

  • Gaming Wildlife also debuts. It seems like a comedic view on a video game culture.

Today in Motyka5 and Channel Awesome's New Talent:

  • Mattimation debuts on the site with Top 10 Mindbending Movies. He seems to tackle movies in general, in addition to being a filmmaker himself. As I stated in my previous post, I don't really have time to check his video out, but I'm going to do so in a next few days.

Brandon's a debut I've been looking forward to. He's a welcome addition to the cult movie reviewer stable, and with Luke's disappearance, the site's needed another Canadian talent to fill that vacuum.

Plus he beat Cinema Snob to get to adult animation, (but not Sage who specializes in that kind of stuff) reviewing Felidae and Once Upon a Girl ages before Snob's review of Down and Dirty Duck.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great

Il Neige's was pretty great. I'm surprised it took him halfway through to realize all the Star Wars ripping off. One scene was even almost identical to the "You Have Failed Me" scene from Empire Strikes Back, right down to the promoting some guy right next to the dead one.
