On the one hand, one of the nice things about the Metal Gear series is the way male characters are sexualized. A lot of time and effort was spent on Snake's butt. Time and effort that I can assure you was appreciated.
Also, the naked cartwheeling thing. There are way too many naked and/or sexualized women in video games. Most media, really. Not nearly enough naked, sexualized men.
Like, this. I agree with that for the most part.
On the other hand, Metal Gear also runs on cloning. Opposite-Sex Clone is sorta a thing at least in theory. Because of the way the sex chromosomes work.
I honestly know nothing about Metal Gear but what you're saying makes sense.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. You clearly don't know enough about Metal Gear.
There is a Romanian, bisexual, male vampire terrorist.
Also a gay male Russian cowboy with a ghost arm.
A guy with the superpower of controlling bees.
Giant walking nuclear equipped tanks that roar like dinosaurs and sing songs by The Carpenters.
Making sense is for other series.
It also had two guys raising a daughter together. So, y'know, not that bad as representation goes.
Metal Gear also has a character named "The Boss"/"The Joy". She's a pretty damn good female character as video games go. And for ages now they've been teasing doing a game about her. But haven't actually, y'know, done it yet.
EDIT: Also, one of the side story arcs of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 4 was Meryl. Her starting her career as a soldier and stuff. She has her own unit by the fourth game. So, I mean, a game about her wouldn't be infeasible.

And for some reason Kojima attempts to make games darker while still having all of the old silly elements <_<
Seriously Kojima, hard to take you seriously when your attempt to make games taken seriously includes vagina bombs and child rape while still having all melodrama and other cheesy silly things. Heck even if all those silly things were removed, that would be just not a metal gear game.
On the next episode of Blockbuster Buster, E-Rod takes a look at his favorite "Fantastic Voyage" Plot episodes from various cartoons:
Curious how "Anatomy Park" from Rick and Morty didn't get so much as an honorable mention. Eh, whatever.
Next week: The Casting Couch: The ExpendeBelles

Just a person. He/him.So I saw Transformers: Age of Extinction this Sunday.
Really awesome IMO.
How many wager that E-Rod will bash everything about it and say AOE is worse than ROTF?

Speaking of Transformers, Lindsay did a review of it with the Black Nerd.
I saw their review.
It's nice to see that they liked it.
edited 2nd Jul '14 3:50:14 PM by TargetmasterJoe
Not really. They liked LAUGHING about it, but Lindsay said once there and a few times on her Twitter feed that she merely considers it the "least bad" Transformers film. Still doesn't mean good or that she liked it, just that she didn't hate it.
Oh.
…
At least she doesn't hate it!
Everyone seems to agree that Age of Extinction is still bad, but it has least amount of offensive stuff like stupid crude humor involving underpants, dog humping or racist stereotypes and at least it has more transformer action screentime than humans and at least the lead human character is action hero actor instead of the previous guy.
I know Brad seemed to think it was really enjoyable, even if still not good.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Yeah, but Brad likes "stupid action movies", unless I'm quoting him wrong
He didn't like the previous ''Transformer'' movies. Or ''A Good Day to Die Hard''.

^Yeah, but this one lacked dog humping level of crude rumor, racist stuff, parents and the guy whose name I don't remember how to pronounce, leaving left only the explosions and robot fighting
Anyhoo, Doug posted his non NC video on the movie

This week, The Blockbuster Buster has a seat on the Casting Couch to give his choices for The Expenda-Belles.
Next week's victim: Dracula2000
edited 6th Jul '14 1:52:21 PM by TargetmasterJoe
Wait, they're making an 'Expenda-Belles' movie ? That title just sounds ....
But seriously I don't know why they keep pouring cash into those films
They're making two (different ones). The other (unnamed afaik) project looks to have the better cast so far.
Because awesome action stars doing awesome action things together. Just sit down and eat your popcorn.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Presumably they make the money back several times over. You'd have to be stupid NOT to keep doing it if it turns a large profit.
But that's a story for another time.Bennet the Sage reviews Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie
I admit, despite him pointing out a lot of legit flaws with this film, I can't help but enjoy it. It's a mess, but a fun mess with some damn good fights. It's also interesting in that this movie actually inspired the Street Fighter Alpha games, as future canon took a lot of influence from this film. I'd actually recommend UDON's Street Fighter comics if you want to see a good Street Fighter Adaptation though.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Sorry this took long, but in the most recent episode of The Blockbuster Buster, E-Rod takes down a crappy variation of the Dark Prince: Dracula2000.
Next week's victim: I, Frankenstein.
