I'm surprised A Bridge Too Far got made into a film, at least in 1977. It's about an Allied military operation in World War II that ultimately failed.

This movie looks really cool. I wonder when it's coming out?
This just in: Uwe Boll has pretty much snapped.
EDIT: We still don't have a page on Uwe Boll? Dang.

I don't often say this but Amid Amidi has a point. Leave the VFX artists alone.

"Uwe Boll Loses His Shit; Nobody Sees This As A Loss."
Your momma's so dumb she thinks oral sex means talking dirty.I remember seeing (or dreaming I saw) some movie many years ago (on the Disney channel, I think) and I don't remember what it was at all.
I remember a man and a woman in what I think was an elevator, except as the elevator descended, they both got younger. I think they eventually got to being newborns again, but I don't remember for sure.
Does anyone else know what I'm talking about, or is it likely that I only dreamt that I watched it?
I think I know what you are talking about but it may have been a different Disney Channel movie. It was some lab machine that made a mom and dad scientist team start acting younger and younger even though they still have their adult bodies.
That might be it. What was it called?
EDIT: Never mind, I found it. The Poof Point. Sounds like it was the one I was looking for. Thanks!

I'm reviving this old chestnut, regardless of a double post. Anyway, I'm trying to find examples where a famous actor, who normally get paid millions of dollars, decides to get paid in scale (minimum actor wage) so they can be cast in a low-budget film
The cast of Super was paid scale.
So I guess any Paid Scale examples for actors goes in the Film section of Doing It for the Art, right?
I can't think of anywhere else to put this, but:
Harvey Weinstein of The Weinstein Company is in BIG trouble...
Okay first off it's against the rules to just drop a link without providing a description of what's in it.
Second off, what does that have to do with this thread?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?My apologies for waiting until the next day to respond. I had to sleep. And also my apologies for being vague. I don't know why I keep thinking it'd be fine to just leave a link. Maybe because a lot of people do it themselves? Whatever.
Anyway, to rectify your concerns:
- 1) Apparently, The New York Times has found that Harvey Weinstein is getting accused of various cases of sexual harassment by various peoples for decades and now he's taking an indefinite leave from his and his brother's film company The Weinstein Company.
- 2) It has to do with this thread because, well, The Weinstein Company is a film company. And this thread is about film in general. You may know TWC not only for their distribution of award-winning films like The Artist and The King's Speech among several others, but also for their notorious habit of constantly butchering/Americanizing foreign animated movies like The Magic Roundabout (a.k.a. Doogal), Ballerina (a.k.a. Leap!), or Little Door Gods (a.k.a. The Guardian Brothers). (So some spiteful people who see the Weinsteins as jerks can see Harvey Weinstein's situation as a form of Laser-Guided Karma.)
It's possible that this controversy might spell doom for TWC.

It's not laser-guided karma. It's a stupid rich asshole who sexually harassed women and is probably going to face the barest minimum of repercussions.
It'd probably take extremely little to doom TWC. They can't even afford to release the films they make anymore.

Well at the very least, Harv has been kicked out of his own company. Good riddance to him.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I must admit, that's a little more than I expected.
I agree. Good riddance.
Why? Did you figure they'd effectively just slap him on the wrist and call it a day?
By the way, Nathan Lane's crack at the Weinsteins from years ago ("Up until now, I thought Monsters Incorporated was a documentary on the Weinsteins.") has a lot more weight to it now than it did then, doesn't it?
Considering how Hollywood is? Yes. The people there adamantly defend Roman Polanski, Woody Allen, Mel Gibson, and a bunch of other awful pieces of shit while being full of incredibly racist, sexist, idiotic assholes. Can't wait to see people forgive Weinstein soon and see him make a big comeback, because of course it's bound to happen.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? Finally watched Pan's Labryinth
Fine film, should have done this sooner
Anyone think a Foreign Films thread would be useful?
Are you talking about non-English films?
Anyway, I was thing about starting a couple of threads as well. They would each focus below-the-line aspects of film like Production Design, Cinematography, Sound, and Editing. Is that a good idea?
