I'll Check that out and see if it's any good. I still need some recommendations for romance anime ,though.
Jormungand is a pretty solid real-world action series in the vein of Black Lagoon.
For romance, Toradora! is still my gold standard. Golden Time is also a fun one if only for the unusual anime setting of a university.
Actually here's a question: anybody have any good manga/anime set in university beyond Golden Time, Honey and Clover, and Nana? Seems like a rarity.
deviantArt | TwitterI've already watched Toradora and Golden Time. However, I will check out Jormungand.
There's Nodame Cantabile.
If I knew how I know everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much because my brain would be clogged up with where I know it fromI'm looking for an anime/manga that features good looking complex characters with skeletons in their closet, Awesome Art, and drama filled grimdark situations are okay too.
I know of/enjoy Evangelion, Durarara, Seraph Of The End, and Tokyo Ghoul. Can anyone recommend any others?
Not...entirely sure how Seraph of the End fits into the "Complex Characters" bit, but whatever.
I suppose Fate/Zero would fit the bill. Also, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans.
If I knew how I know everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much because my brain would be clogged up with where I know it fromHey guys I'm looking for a good action anime that has come out in the last few years. Something along the lines of like Kill la Kill and such.
Does anyone have a recommendation for something to watch with my brother? He's eighteen years old and isn't particularly into anime, but isn't opposed to watching it either. We watched Madoka Magica last summer and he said he really liked it, but that sometime he'd like to see something with "classic anime fights" in it. By this, I'm assuming he means some sort of shonen action show.
So, I'm looking for a show that:
- Has great action scenes, with flashy moves and good choreography
- Is low on ecchi and fanservice, since he's not really into that sort of thing, and neither am I
- Good story is a bonus
- Reasonably short. Not more than 50 episodes and preferably less than 25
- Availiable on Netflix or the free versions of Hulu or Crunchyroll
- pg-13-ish or lower
I've already thought of Fullmetal Alchemist, but does anyone else have other ideas?

Yuki Yuna is a Hero is certainly worth trying since that meets all of your requirements. Bonus points here for likely Superlative Dubbing.
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.Gundam Build Fighters isn't entirely a "classic" (it's only a few years old, and it's half Fighting Series and half Sports Anime rather than being a straight-up action shonen a la DBZ et al), but it's got good fights (including both great choreography and flashy special moves), good characters (the plot itself is pretty bare bones To Be a Master, but the character drama keeps you interested regardless), very much low-fanservice PG-13 level content (though it does have a fair amount of Shipping fodder — between ten year olds, so it's more along the lines of cute Toy Ship Puppy Love stuff than anything more serious), and it's 25 episodes total. There's no English dub, but the subtitled version is available for free (and legally) from the official Gundam YouTube channel.
Some of the standard classics that I typically recommend for the sort of thing you're looking for are Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, but both of those require a Hulu subscription (and they only have the first four episodes of the Cowboy Bebop dub, which is practically criminal). Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans is a 25-episode show with good fights and a good story that should be on Crunchyroll by now (it just recently finished airing, and Crunchyroll was getting it at a one-week delay), but it's closer to rated R than PG-13. They do not pull any punches in the fight scenes — and the most often way they end a fight in IBO is to kill the pilot. Hits your other criteria, though.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I'm looking for a good comedy anime, I haven't seen one that got laughs from me in quite a while.
I'm looking for one that:
- has enough variety in terms of what shenanigans the characters get up to, in order to keep things fresh and interesting
- can be over-the-top, but not in such a way that it drags its jokes out for too long
- doesn't have repetitive humor
- Optional:
- has parodic or satirical elements (not required, but some of my favorites are like this)
- I don't really care if it has a story or not, but if it does, I like shows that use their humor to advance the story as well as character development
- occasionally focuses on the side characters
- if it's a romantic comedy, I prefer the ones that focus more on comedy than romance

I finished Servant x Service a while back, that one is decent. Ouran High School Host Club is an older parody of shoujo manga, so if that's your kind of thing it holds up pretty well.
Oh, and if you somehow missed Haruhi-chan, watch that. Just go watch that right now.

deviantArt | TwitterMaybe Moyashimon?
A little warning about Servantx Service: The first episode is paced a bit weirdly since it's sticking close to the 4-koma formula. So if that puts you off the first episode, then don't worry, the pacing improves.
If I knew how I know everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much because my brain would be clogged up with where I know it fromHow is Croisée in a Foreign Labyrinth? The premise of 19th century France caught my attention, although if the only français is the narration I'm not too impressed.
I read Yuureitou and loved it, so now I'm looking for another manga with a transgender male character (was originally born female but identifies as a male) who develops feelings for another male and vice versa
Unabashedly requesting someone give me an anime ladened with Ho Yay to watch. Preferably Mx M stuff. I'll even be fine with stuff that only has Ho Yay visible with my shipping goggles on tight. Thanks in advance.
Tanaka-kun is Always Listless, which is currently airing, is pretty good.
There was a shoujo manga that read along time ago about a girl who was in love with a boxer. Can anyone help me find it?
Also, there was another manga that had genderbent delinquent boy turn a girl.
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."Since it's summer and I have the time, I'm looking for a long running, translated manga, the better if it's completed. I'd limit the scope of the request but I'm pretty omnivorous, so I'll read pretty much anything as long as it's good. The only thing I can't stand is the art style of some of the old school shōjo stuff where everything is just generic faces on blank backgrounds.
It'd take too long to list what I've read, so lets just say that if there's an anime made of it, I've read it. The more off the beaten path the series is, the more I'll appreciate the mention. Feel free to hoist your niche pick favourites on me.
The first thing that comes to mind is Maison Ikkoku. I don't know about the quality of the manga though, because I went with the anime, and it sounds like something you probably would have already read.
How about The Five Star Stories? That's about as far off the beaten path as you can get. (Though it's still pretty good to boot.)
Oh, and Basara is also a really good one, with only a 13 episode anime that only covers a sliver of the manga to its' name in terms of adaptions.
