I'd say both qualify, though Yotsuba is the one more sunshine and rainbows.

Nice.
@Discar: I suggest those two and Tonari no Seki-kun.
Thank you, those should work.
I am looking for an anime that fits two criterions:
- Its setting should be, if possible, outside of school. Or, more accurately, I'd rather not have it be the center of everything - think Tokyo Ghoul, for example, or Fumoffu!less Full Metal Panic.
- I would like as little "humor" about boobs, panties, skirts and naked ladies as possible. I had no problem with the occasional "TINY MINISKIRTS" in Fullmetal Alchemist, but the harems, noses bleeding or giggling annoys me to no end. The extreme limit I can suffer would be No Game No Life, and I still tended to fastforward the sections between two duels.
I am not looking for anything in particular. I enjoyed fantasy animes like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, action like Black Lagoon, horror like Tokyo Ghoul or Parasyte, cyberpunk like Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex (probably my all-time favorite) or Psycho Pass, or mechas like Full Metal Panic (even Fumoffu - mostly because there was something beyond school in the first and third seasons).
So, I just finished reading Daily Life with Monster Girl, or at least what has been translated to far and I want to know if there is more cute stuff with monster girls? I am not in mood of some heavy stuff, more looking for some light hearted stuff.

For something a little different and more literary, maybe try Aoi Bungaku? It's a series that adapts classic Japanese literature.
So you have no problem if it's about adults rather than High School Kids? I suggest Monster then. It's a really serious anime, and rather long, so be prepared.
And, of course, Inferno Cop.

If your only criteria are "not school" and "minimal fanservice", then there's quite a large selection.
I tend to have similar tastes, so let me check my repertoire...
- Noir
- .hack//SIGN/
- Allison & Lillia
- the Ys anime (also known as Ancient Books of Ys)
- bunch of Miyazaki movies
- Nodame Cantabile (unless you don't want "post-secondary music school where all the students are basically young adults" either)
- Rocket Girls (most of it takes place on the Solomon Islands, and away from school)
- The Tower of Druaga (pardon the comedic fanservice in ep 5, but the rest of it should work out — and it does get quite good when it gets series several eps in. also, it requires its sequel.)
- The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (movie)
- Tokyo Godfathers (movie)
- Time of Eve
- Kowarekake no Orgel (OVA? movie?)
- Yukikaze (this is quite slow though)
- Sands of Destruction
- Eureka Seven
The following shows I have not completed but seem like they would probably fit your criteria:
- Fractale
- El Cazador de la Bruja
- Madlax
I wouldn't recommend Fractale; I've heard it's not that good.
Well I'm five episodes in and I'm enjoying it so far.
And one could say a similar thing about Sands of Destruction — I've actually seen all of that, and I'd caution someone to not to take it too seriously.
@Mandemo: Jitsu Wa Watashi wa will most certainly be your thing.
Oh, I'm looking for either a grounded slice of life or an introspective character study sort of horror. Any of you know titles with either?
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Grounded Slice of Life: Kamichu! (A God I Am Not, the anime!), Doki Doki School Hours, Strawberry Marshmallow, and Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (this one is a major Tear Jerker.).
Introspective character horror: No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular! and Serial Experiments Lain are the only shows that come to my mind here.
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else. But Watamote is a Cringe Comedy...
Well, thanks for all that, I haven't seen most of them! I already knew Monster, the Miyazakis, and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (although I prefer Wolf Children Ame & Yuki from Hosoda).
Gives me a rather large choice, perfect!
(And I am not completely allergic to fanservice, I'd just rather have it be occasional)

True, but I personally didn't find it to be that funny. Still, it's a very introspective show that's certainly bizarre and very questionable at times, so why not?
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.@mrsunshinesprinkles1s Thanks for recomendation, already liking it! Also, I do like it's not ecchi either.
Is there anything I can watch on Crunchyroll that's kinda bad but not too trashy? I don't really feel like watching something good, because that takes too much emotional investment. Any genre should be okay.
You could always try Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspectors, which is basically what happens when you try to compress a 40+ hour long SRPG into a 26 episode anime. (And keep in mind that this is a sequel.) What you won't get; a lot of emotional investment.(Especially if you don't watch/read/play the previous SRWOG. ) What you will get; tons of distinct characters and loads of kickass mecha action. If nothing else, you'll got a sh*t-load of entertainment.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-Around@ Julep: by the way, one more rec if you're okay with a little bit of fanservice: Kiddy Grade.
(I don't like fanservice and KG is one of my favorite shows. I felt what fanservice it had was minimal and took a back seat to its more serious story and themes.)
@Clarste: RWBY's there.
Looking for anime/manga where focus is partly main character undergoes sanity slippage or goes through some tough break the cutie ordeals and it also contains much Ho Yay/Les Yay. I like Tokyo Ghoul in this regard.
My first thought is Parasyte, though there's not really any Ho Yay there.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Definitely Madoka Magica, and maybe Shin Sekai Yori?
Kotoura-san has you more than covered when it comes to Break the Cutie. Ho Yay? not so much, but the male lead certainly exaggerates some instances to that effect.
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.
What about Yotsuba or Barakamon? Any idea if those fit the bill?
