I've kind of wondered why cyborgs don't seem to be around in the main series Mega Man timeline before Mega Man ZX. The only one I can think of is Dr Weil, and that's a form of punishment. Which also raises the question of if they have the technology for an immortality suit, why aren't they using that life extension technology for health benefit instead of punishing the 23rd century Hitler?

Come to think of it, why is it that in the 100 years between the Classic and X series, no-one's developed fully-fledged AI yet?!

I would suspect the numerous apocalypses have something to do with it.

The really outrageous thing is that the civilization in the Classic series is apparently interplanetary, but we never quite make it out.

Probably a more limited version of the technology is used in medicine but they were experiencing an energy shortage so they can't do it for everyone anyway.

And shortly after in ZX, humans and reploids have become nearly indistinguishable so that cyborg technology was existent or bubbling underneath or something.

Maybe it just never came up in the storytelling, and the worlds of both X and Zero are full of cyborgs.

Dont forget that Neo Arcadia ran on the logic that humans are just the best. Also that most robotic everything in the X world seems to turn evil and kill people at some point. Sure, you could replace your liver with a robo-liver, but what do you do when it decides to throw it's own kill switch?

Imagine if there's another sapient race living with us humans, and they have an untrustworthy reputation. That's the problem with robots in Zero era. Weil's claim that humans enjoy controlling what they see is a gross exaggeration, but it's not without basis; humans are simply tired of all the wars involving robots. The only robot they fully trust is X, and as far as they know, he died in Zero 3.

What I want to know more, though, is anything that happened between Zero and ZX.

Rock Man.EXE / Mega Man NT Warrior Episode 19:

The second part of "The Evil Empress" mini-arc. It's now Rock Man.EXE / Mega Man.EXE vs Roll.EXE, Fire Man.EXE / Torch Man.EXE and Color Man.EXE / Wacko Man.EXE . Things are not good.

There's a interesting deal involving the Devil Chip, as the original name "Akuma Chip" reminded me of Street Fighter's Akuma. Granted Akuma is japanese for "devil" but still...

But wow, talk about a lame experience. The episode wasn't that bad (I liked the Commander Beef vs Count Elec/Zap moment and Dekao/Dex, Yaito/Yai and Tohru/Tory trying to mess with Elec's plans), but the fact that the antidote was putting another Chip in the PET all along was a letdown. I expected an "Healing Chip" or something like that but still...

Not to mention they removed "Dark" Roll.EXE's whip. I LIKED THAT WHIP!

At the end, Rock Man.EXE and Roll.EXE won together, much to Fire Man.EXE and Color Man.EXE's dismay. But unfortunately, Roll.EXE's experiences with the Devil Chip made her ununsable for a time. Who is going to be Rock Man.EXE's partner?

I'm guessing that the Tournament Arc ends on the 20-29 episode gap. Pokémon wasn't that long in regards to the leagues.

Edit:

Rock Man.EXE / Mega Man NT Warrior Episode 20:

I expected a good fight, but nope. It’s just Yaito/Yai angry because Enzan/Chaud told her that her company is a “third-rate company”. Then both ended up having a date.

Good thing Enzan is a Grade-School C.E.O. so he couldn’t be accused of being a Lolicon. The episode ends with one of the fights revelated: It’s Rock Man.EXE / Mega Man.EXE and Blues.EXE / Proto Man.EXE vs Stone Man.EXE and Bomber Man.EXE.

I can’t help but laugh at the episode. It’s just me or they slipped the radar showing Yaito being drunk by strawberry milk of all things?

Edit:

Rock Man.EXE / Mega Man NT Warrior Episode 21:

Finally a good fight to boot! Rock Man.EXE / Mega Man.EXE and Blues.EXE / Proto Man.EXE vs Stone Man.EXE and Bomber Man.EXE. Blues.EXE is just Sesshoumaru as a Net Navi, right down to the white hair and english voice actor. Fun Fact: Rock Man.EXE is Hiten.

The battle was hard, but ended well. Stone Man.EXE and Bomber Man.EXE are finally defeated, Rock Man.EXE and Blues.EXE won, and the final battle is the former allies are now opponents.

But I don't understand a thing... After Rock Man.EXE used the Program Advance correctly, Enzan/Chaud and Blues.EXE are counting the minutes after Rock Man.EXE's Program Advance. It's something like a auto-destruction system or something like that?

I was looking in the Hidenari Ugaki's portfolio in the japanese wikipedia, and I noticed that he's the voice actor of Bomber Man.EXE. Hidenari Ugaki also voiced characters like Birdie, Goro Majima and Argo Gulski. They never told me that Bomber Man.EXE's english name was Blaster Man.EXE, through.

Yay for Blast Man! One of the first Robot Masters which is based in a NetNavi! Now, let's hope that the fire-elemental Robot Master in the roster is Torch Man...

Oh yeah, speaking of Battle Network:

Rock Man.EXE / Mega Man NT Warrior Episode 22:

The finals! It's Rock Man.EXE / Mega Man.EXE vs Blues.Proto Man.EXE! Everyone is cheering for Netto/Lan and his Navi.

Then things gone worse... Something wrong is occuring in the tournament but... Rock Man.EXE and Blues.EXE are still fighting... First time that I see Enzan/Chaud being Not So Stoic.

And the winner is... the Blitz Team! And by that I mean Enzan and Blues.EXE. Anyone that understood the seiyuu joke after the spoiler gain a kiss. grin

But then things goes worse... SAKUJO! Rock Man.EXE is sakujoed (get it?) by new Net Navi Pharaoh Man.EXE. Now I'm afraid!

Mega Man vs Pharaoh Man in the cartoon: Mega Man is Punched!

Rock Man.EXE vs Pharaoh Man.EXE in the anime: Rock Man.EXE is deleted!

Talk about being afraid... what will happen to Netto? He'll be depressed or worse?

Most of the personality stuff is in supplemental materials, although Mega Man & Bass had collectible Data CDs of all the characters up to that point that briefly explains the characters.

Courtesy of Rockman Corner, we have gameplay footage of Mega Man X8 running in Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2.

In the link, Brian mentions how the game is rendered at a higher resolution and load times are nonexistent. How was the reception for the initial version of X8?

Rock Man.EXE / Mega Man NT Warrior Episode 23:

OMG! Pharaoh Man.EXE is a force that cannot be underestimated. And to think that the cartoon's Pharaoh Man (who punched Mega Man in the face) was a big problem. Maybe the producers were aware of the Robot Master's popularity.

Interesting, in the games, Pharaoh Man was one of Dr.Cossack's Robot Masters, even considering that Wily's the one behind the strings, while Pharaoh Man.EXE was a computer program infected by a virus.

They mentioned someone named Tadashi Hikari, which is Netto/Lan's grandfather. Tadashi looks an awful lot like Dr. Light. Coincidentally, Hikari is japanese for Light. (And I can't help but do some Death Note jokes.)

Meanwhile, there's something in Netto's PET... a mysterious bug. And said bug also appears in Meiru/Maylu's, Dekao/Dex's, Yaito/Yai's, Tohru/Tory's respective PE Ts. It seems to be Rock Man.EXE / Mega Man.EXE's message.

But them... a "miracle" happened... Netto's father Yuichiro Hikari shows up!

>Oh he'll do much worse than that. Spoilers for episode 23: He'll wake up on time.

Not a big deal given that Netto is always late, but still harsh... considering that sometimes Rock Man.EXE was like Netto's alarm clock.

Pharaohman's anime backstory is so similar to the final boss's of Battle Network 3 that I wonder if the game writers deliberately lifted it, since they also took a couple other things from the anime for that game, like the PET design and the N1 Grand Prix.

In the games Pharaohman is just a postgame Bonus Boss in Battle Network 1 and 2. There's a sketch of an operator for him in the art book, but I doubt he's canon.

Ayaka Fukuhara is voicing Mega Man in the Japanese version of Mega Man 11.

Still no clue who's voicing him the English version, though.

God, this gets me excited as fuck.

Mega Man X8 is the sole reason I want this collection for.

Was X8 your favorite one? (Honestly asking, because I was under the impression that general consensus was that X8's better than X7, but not as much as any of the others.)

Both X3 and X8, actually. X8 feels like Capcom bringing back physics from the SNES era (Like dashing out of a cliff or Air Dashing and you still have momentum), evolved some mechanics introduced in X7, made every character equally important, brought the game into the route it should have gone instead of what X7 was, and the most important thing: Sigma is not the Final Boss.
