Dimplex model 3072 electric heater GET! Which some idiot in my block of flats threw away because they fitted it with the wrong fuse and it didn't work. Putting a five amp fuse into something that's the same sort of power output as a kettle, i.e. 2KW, and what do you expect will happen? Oops.
Luckily I had a spare 13 amp fuse to test it with and it works perfectly. As I have residual current circuit breakers on my mains power and the heater didn't trip it, all the fault could have been was a mis-rated fuse. I further checked online just to confirm things and the manual I got for the heater said in plain English:
"In the event of replacing the fuse in the plug supplied, a 13 amp fuse approved by ASTA to BS 1362 must be used."
So, I got a new perfectly working heater for the price of a fuse.
