This thread is for quick questions. A "quick question" is a question which has a relatively quick, generally factual answer; a question which is not likely to inspire an extended discussion.
e.g.
Quick Question: How tall is an average ten-year-old boy?
Not a Quick Question: Why are Americans obsessed with guns?
Quick Question: Why is ALS sometimes called Lou Gehrig's Disease? Who was Lou Gehrig?
Not a Quick Question: In Alan Dean Foster's Thranx Commonwealth series, is Pip a Mary Sue?
Get the idea?

Like this one◊ or this one◊? That's a Peace rose, one of the most popular hybrid tea roses ever developed.
If it's more like this it could be a Rio Samba
If it's small — the blooms are under two inches in diameter — it's more than likely a Jack Duckworth.

"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."If "anus" doesn't work, perhaps "rectal cavity" or "butt void" could be used as substitutes.
My friend wants to open a Storenvy, and as far as we can tell, Storenvy wants you to use Paypal to receive payments. The idea of using Paypal makes her a bit nervous, though. She's aware of the many horror stories circulating online. Her own boyfriend rants about it constantly. She fears being forced to provide her SSN or having her funds frozen if she avoids doing so. According to our research so far, you probably won't run into trouble as long as you link a bank account and credit card, but if you try to transfer funds between your Paypal account and your bank account, they want your SSN. Is this accurate? And can payments received through Paypal be directly deposited into the user's bank account?
I'm not the one with a Storenvy account so I've never been through the process of setting up a store. I'm going off of what I can learn from their website.

The last battle's curtains will open on stage!I don't think it'd trigger any automatic filter, but I think the "joke" (if you can call it that) is rather tasteless and frankly the sort of thing that one would hope the Internet had matured beyond by now.

"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."Has there ever been a time where someone made Mind-Control Eyes go across the spectrum of color or to put it in Laymen's Terms, "Rainbow Eyes?" I always imagined it being used in artificial eyes or visors to either 1. Show that someone's mind is seriously malfunctioning or 2. They've become hyperactive.
Living The Fever Dream@Madru: Thanks! I think Peace Rose is the one I was looking for.
If there was an attack by unknown forces on a nuclear power plant in the US, which federal agency would have the jurisdiction?
That depends on the nature of the event, but how disastrous are we talking here? All nuclear plants in the US have their own mini force to handle small scale attacks.
"Did you expect somebody else?"It's a fairly big supernatural attack.
Probably more than the security personnel can handle.
That I can't answer, but it'd likely go to some part of the Department of Homeland Security working in combination with the Department of Defense.
Also, does anybody know if one can use glasses wipes (IE, those with alcohol or a similar cleaning agent) on a mobile phone screen?
"Did you expect somebody else?"Apple disrecommends using that on their phones. Here is an article on iPhone cleaning.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHmm, that makes sense - thank you.
"Did you expect somebody else?"What's a good way to convert MP 4 files into GIF files without paying money or having a watermark?
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.I was using Free Video to GIF Converter (I think that's the name, something straightforward) until I realized that Virtualdub will output GIF clips.
Fresh-eyed movie blogYou can also use a player like Media Player Classic (comes with the Combined Community Codec Pack) to step through a video frame by frame, and screenshot each frame and put it into GIMP to create a GIF.
I think you can do that in VLC too (not sure about stepping by frame, but you can export frames). The question is why would you do all that work manually?
Fresh-eyed movie blogWould it be considered ironic for a species that possesses a crystalline exterior to base their economy off of mining and excavation?
Living The Fever DreamI found out that Ireland is part of the European Nordic Battle Group. Can anyone with some military knowledge tell me why they are in the Nordic group? If you look at the map◊, you can see that we are really far away from everyone else in that group. I'm not even going to pretend I understand what a battle group even is, but I just wanted to know why we are in the Nordic one.
I suppose it's no more ironic than beings with organic exteriors raising and slaughtering livestock for a living.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Would any of the mods object if I made a "Not So Quick Questions" thread? Also, would any other tropers be interested in such a thread?

NO, please do not make a "Not-So-Quick-Questions" thread. If a question is likely to start a discussion, make a thread for that question in the appropriate area of the forums.

So there's this type of rose with yellow petals in the center fading to red... Not yellow with red tips, but if I remember correctly more like the petals are yellow in the center and get darker as you go out until they're red at the edges. Does anyone know what these're called?
I think the neighbors who has these have cut them down, but I can check and see if I can get a photo of one if that's needed.
