Me! But not because of the bondage. I love it for the cute/sexy fanservice, quirky characters, and moving scenes.
I also really like Maidman.
An useless name, a forsaken connection.Love it! My favorite comic series going at the moment.
I've finally caught up this week-end on my reading of this series (for some unfathomable reason, I had stopped in the middle of v4 just before the Capeys).
And, damn. Just as I was getting to love that character.
Please let Major Havoc be dead too. Though he's probably survived, the jerk.
I'm deeply disturbed by the speculated theory I've seen around that Willy Pete might be Thugboy's Tyler Durden. That would be really fucked up.
Of the ten capes who went on that mission, Cyndablock claims that only one and one half survived. Earlier, Mind**** claimed that Charity, Vanity, Homunculus and Katana were among the casualties. My guess is that Havok will be the half.

The Philosopher-King ParadoxI think the survivors are Havoc and the devil side of Divangelic. Because those are the only two you don't see the remains of.
Facepalming since 1986.Amazing how a fluffy parody of Fanservice comics can start good, have Cerebus Syndrome kick in and still remain good.

an heroic gesture would do the world goodI think they're in nonfiction in the 7000's or something, if they use the Dewey Decimal system. Ask for the graphic novels.
Fight smart, not fair.Well you could obtain it through Totally Legal Means and then delete it after reading.
And damn Mindf**k's death was a kick in the teeth. First I was hoping for Emps crazy planet fall plan to work, or then for the teleporter to work or for Sista Spooky to save her. Nothing worked.
Then again, we have yet to see how closely Empowered follows other comics in terms of the dead staying dead.

Well, considering the tone of the series, I think there would've been a joke about the dead rising by now if the series used a revolving door afterlife.
Cerebus Syndrome did hit this comic pretty hard (not that I'm complaining). Oh, hey it's a comedy about an insecure super-heroine who gets into lots of fetishy and fan servicey situations. And her best friend is a ninja! And there's a hammy alien restrain in her apartment using bondage gear. And... Holy fuck! Did that guy just light someone on fire, eat his flesh, and then literally rape him to death (in that order)!
The Philosopher-King ParadoxLet's speculate! In that last story...did the feelings of doubt that convinced Mindf**k to sacrifice herself truly come from Emp, or did they emanate from Emp's suit, which, as the Demonwolf has noted, can "mimic a human minds' so-called 'thoughtstream'"? Both are possible and plausible, but what do y'all think?

Avatar art by Lorna-Ka.Interesting...
The Philosopher-King ParadoxEmp's suit, definitely. It is a symbiote after all - it'd want to survive and it may have had a better idea of its durability. Falling from a great height - fine. Re-entry from orbit - less fine.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Oh,and a Me Too! from me. I have tried to get people to read it,but... everybody turns away from the bondage,or the art style.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Love the series, Mood Whiplash and all.
Am I the only one who is tired of the way the Caged Demonwulf talks? His lines are always five times as long as they need to be and he keeps throwing words around that I don't know +.
It was hilarious at first, but now I find myself skipping whole pages of his narration out of frustration.
Now if you excuse me, Starfleet is about to award the Christopher Pike Medal to my dick. — SF DebrisThe Caged Demonwolf is a lot funnier if you're familiar with the works of Jack Kirby; he's essentially an extended Kirby parody.
I will keep my soul in a place out of sight, Far off, where the pulse of it is not heard.Ha, I didn't realize that until you said it. I thought he was just a Large Ham, but now, yeah, definitely Kirby-flavored Ham. Kirbied Ham.
It's that loquacious trope. The other word starts with an s. Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness that's it. Any one got a shot of it, I think that page needs a new picture.
Fight smart, not fair. The problem is in trying to find a picture for a verbal trope.
The Philosopher-King ParadoxBump.
I learned about Empowered from TV Tropes, bought the first book last year and all the other ones since then.
Like the comic VERY MUCH. It's very sexy, very funny, and has also very good drama. Willy Pete is an extraordinarily evil villain. And the drawings are also good - for what more could you ask?
Now I'm waiting impatiently for vol. 6. Until then, I make WMG's for Emp. Check them out.
^Yeah, I find black and white kinda tiring to read to be honest. Color really adds a lot to a story telling experience.
Really wore on me reading vol 1 of Savage Sword of Conan.
I have been tempted to try out empowered though.

So, anyone else an Empowered fan?
