The 80s series is the best intro to the franchise and Akatsuka's work.

Start with the reboot and you'll think I have awful taste. It's quite problematic.

That's pretty much me with Stardust Crusaders.

Difference is I don't really like Stardust Crusaders.

I guess every big franchise with multiple adaptations or arcs or whatever has that one awkward one.

Problem is in Osomatsu's case, the awkward one is the one everyone watches and obsesses over and ghh apparently some people don't even know it's rooted in the 60s.

THAT. THAT RIGHT THERE IS STARDUST CRUSADERS.

Such shit that Jotaro Kardboard is the person a lot of people think of when you say JoJo.

I don't even really know what to say about Osomatsu-san, it's just....ehhhh? I mean, I can ramble and ramble about how it doesn't compare well to its source, but in short:

• Characters aren't equals (not given enough screen time compared to others)

• Pop culture references will become dated in like, five years, a decade at most. (Yes, the source has pop culture references too, but more timeless ones that can still be funny/relevant.)

• Segments that are just wasteful and not very entertaining, cough cough F6

and other stuff I guess idk just watch and see the tonal difference

Let me go over Stardust Crusaders in the same way.

• The protagonist is boring.
• It quickly devolves into a monster of the week formula.
• The only characters who aren't stoic as balls is an old guy and a French person.
• Most fights have at least one ass-pull.
• Some Stands have incredibly useful abilities that are never used again (Hanged Man, Silver Chariot, and Hierophant Green come to mind).
• It never fucking ends.
• The aforementioned French person pretty much takes over the show.

Aaaand everyone fucking loves it.

And I don't get why everyone loves the F6. It's...

Basically the F6 is supposed to parody bishie anime, which sounds funny, but I feel like it gets cringier and less ironic with each segment.

One episode is about Iyami and Chibita stealing all of the lube, and the F6 saves the day and pours it all over themselves and eeeeggghhhh I hate F6.

All this talk about black sheep installments in our favorite franchises reminds me of Pokemon X and Y! So many things wrong with that game...

• The characters are flat as hell.
• Tierno's dialogue could be replaced with variations on "herpaderp" and nothing of value would be lost.
• Sina and Dexio could be written out without changing anything.
• The pacing's awkward as hell.
• Megas are cool in concept but broken in execution and their subplot ends too quickly.
• Female characters have more customization options than men (but I suppose that's just realistic)
• Team Flare is the most pathetic evil team ever.
• AZ is the best part of the game's plot and he shows up three times.
• They overall tried too much at once and it's all sorta meh.
• The gameplay's good though, I Nuzlocked X not too long ago and I enjoyed myself.
