This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

That rant was not meant to offend. I'm sorry if it did.
It was supposed to be a Hypocritically Humorous spoof of Grammar Nazi-ism.
It appears that I came across wrong. I will avoid writing such things in the future. I personally find it very hard to take anything written in ALL CAPS seriously. I expected people to take it as a joke.
But I don't understand why removing the redlinked articles was a big deal. Could you tell me a bit about that? There were one or two that had been axed by P5. I think one was called "Urotsukidoji" or something.
Is there a rule against removing redlinks from indices? If so, please tell me where it's written down, because I haven't read it and probably haven't read the rest of the rules where is written down.

Evil is my favorite color.I still would like a bit more detail on what I've done.
@masamune 1: Let's start with your edits to Marquis de Sade. To this page you added a large quantity of editorial about his personal life, when the page is supposed to be focused entirely on his work. Even then, it is not meant to contain opinionated statements such as describing someone as having "sexual depravity". It is not our place to be judgemental about an author.
"Yup. That tasted purple."I don't want to nag, but you're kind of leaving me hanging here. I apologize for the Yume Nikki confusion, but I'm still not exactly sure what I did wrong on the Horror Anime & Manga page.
Evil is my favorite color.I apologise. I thought the man was more famous than his writings (and was a historical domain character) and I did not know about that rule regarding pages for writers. I thought it could just use a bit more detail, but I concede I got carried away.
EDIT: Though, looking over the edited article, it still needs fixing. It contains inacurracies (one of which is mine), and I do think his crimes should at least be mentioned.

Trope Eater: The deletions makes sense if they were all redlinks... I'll restore editing.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyHey, I've been a troper for several years now (2010, I think), although an infrequent editor. I'm a veteran Spillio over on Spill.com and edited a couple things on their page, as well an entry on the Five Man Band (Web Original) section of the site because it was outdated by over 3 years and needed to reflect the current status of the team. I came on today to make another adjustment to Spill's main tropes page (given the official addition of Billy to the Spill Family) and found my editing privileges suspended? Kind of baffled, I don't think I made any spelling or grammar mistakes, and didn't make any judgments or personal attacks.
You have been Edit Warring on Five-Man Band. That trope is one of the most misused and shoehorned on the wiki and if someone changes something you put in, you discuss it, you don't put it back.
Edit: That's weird.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Something weird with that post above. It thumped itself without being told to.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that there was such a stigma attached the Five Man Band. I'd like to resume editing, but I'll avoid that trope in the future and pay more attention when editing (I didn't realize someone had deliberately reverted it, I did it the first time from a public computer and didn't think the changes went through.)
Fair enough. The trope has a very strict formula. Please pay attention to it. I'll release your suspension.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Okay, there's definitely some kind of bug here.

The rant in your edit reason for Yume Nikki and removing the redlinked works from Horror Anime & Manga.
