And I had a thought about that... We know that Kyon's mother will be "Logic Bombed" and suffer a mental breakdown upon learning about the truth of Kyon's situation... My question is this: What will she do once she recovers from the shock of it all?

Tsuruya going commando while wearing a kimono seems quite likely. That's just how it's done. As for doing it at school, in a uniform? I'd guess probably not. It's unhygienic, and she changes clothes sometimes for the SOS Brigade meetings. Even with her apparent lack of nudity taboo where Kyon is concerned, I don't think she's completely lacking propriety.

Kyon's mother may not like the Tenchi Solution (that's what I believe) but she'll have her hands tied.

Her son's fiance is willingly part of it after all, and ultimately she is a loving mother though annoying and smotherly  ^*

in the context of the fic.

I'm looking forward to Kyon's mom finding out the truth. Maybe she'd find out about the Yakuza family she's marrying Kyon into, the Tenchi Solution that Keiichi is in, and the SOS harem following in their footsteps, all at once. That should make for a nice explosion. :)

I do question the logic of that particular statement. But yes, at school makes sense, if only to avoid alienation  ^*

. I think the question has more moved to 'what about on the occasions she's not wearing a kimono and isn't at school?' That's what Marq and I seemed to be disagreeing on in the end, anyway.

I wouldn't call it a logic bomb. It's just a lot to take in, rather than some logically impossible scenario or paradox. Motherly BSOD is quite possible.

...and what about the supernatural stuff? What if she finds out about that (I would wager on the Combine causing this, possibly via Wataru, and Kyon and the Brigade has to go and save her)?

That's still not a logic bomb. It's not logically impossible or a paradox. It's just really ironic that she engaged him to a Yakuza heiress because she thought that Tsuruya was a good influence on him.

The resultant BSOD will be of epic proportions, though.

I'm hesitant to describe something that contradicts somebody's personal opinions as a contradiction in logic itself. Otherwise every untrue belief would qualify as a logic bomb. It basically equates logic with personal opinion.

Filraen, I think she'd probably just throw up a weirdness censor while she fumbles around with the idea of a Kyon being engaged to a Yakuza heiress and having a harem on top of that.

I bet his dad will be proud of him. :)

x6 Now that you mentioned Weirdness Censor I believe she'll throw it (be in denial) on the third reveal:

1. Kyon's fiancee is a Yakuza Princess.
2. Kyon is part of a Tenchi Solution, and his fiancee is part and willingly encourages it.
3. The other girls in the Tenchi Solution include a time traveler, an alien, an slider who can teleport and a Reality Warper.

If she learns about the supernatural stuff first, though, then she may develop a Weirdness Censor to the other two. After all, I sincerely doubt that, after learning about Kyon being a Big Damn Hero that fights killer robots, groups of Yakuza thugs, and Ryoko Asakura, that anything else would be able to jar her as much...

One of the advantages of having a secret harem is that if your parents pick some random girl to engage you to, odds are better that they'll pick someone you're already involved with.

Rule of Funny. She has to learn them in the most jarring order.

And I forgot the reveal #4: Kyon being a Big Damn Hero who can jump tens of meters and roof hop, has had decades of training last month, and uses a Swiss-Army Weapon. Ah, and he's nicknamed terrifying guardian by the former enemies of his yakuza fiancee.
