A recurring question: When is it long enough to split off a subpage?
While answers varynote , we can usually tell when a subpage is not long enough. Bring any candidates here and we can discuss whether or not they were properly split off and agree on whether or not to merge them back.
Here's one to start off discussion: Pun-Based Title.Webcomics. Merge back to Pun-Based Title?
The second one, especially, having just 7 examples (none of which are even that lengthy)
Also, they were reported for this sort of thing only a few weeks ago.
I've merged two of the three Villain Reveals the Secret subpages back into the main page, the Video Games one has over 20 examples, so it should be fine to leave it.

Speaking of "seven examples", this page and this page both have seven examples apiece, both are subpages of the same trope, and the former has several examples which either lack context or don't apply anymore.
I feel like the subpages for The Poorly Chosen One could be put back.
The Protomen enhanced my life. Can you name which ones if you're not referring to all of them and explain why they're too short please? It's more helpful that way.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Gotta be all of them, they look all 'bout the same length?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576I only asked ~lalalei2001 because they are the one to bring these pages up and since I don't recall seeing them to the Left Side of the Forums that much, they might not be very experienced with clean-ups. So they should answer my question to be able to gain that experience in clean-up threads.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Yeah, I was thinking all of them—Anime, Fan Fiction, and Video Games. Sorry about that!
The Protomen enhanced my life.Short Warp That Aesop subpages were brought up in the last page, but I think there's still a few pages that seem too short for me: WarpThatAesop.Jem, WarpThatAesop.Total Drama, WarpThatAesop.Captain Planetand The Planeteers, and WarpThatAesop.Ed Edd N Eddy. Any second thoughts?
How's the character count on WarpThatAesop.Western Animation?
Total HTML size of 484 KB when I save it, but the editing source is only 91K characters. Still not clear on what exactly is supposed to be measured for the purposes of the too-long thread; the latter measurement suggests it's a long ways from running into problems, but I pretty much never see anything over 600 KB in the former measurement that's not triggering the warning.
I always go with article character length, HTML is mostly website navigation.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupOkay, is that copy-and-pasting the displayed text into a character counter, the editing source with wiki markup, the portion of the HTML source that makes up the text of the article, or something else? Because it makes sense to me that "under-the-hood" measurements would be what matters for the purposes of whether or not something is too long for the wiki engine.
In this case it seems like a gap that's this large between the two measurements I went with is pretty rare and the page is relatively light on links so much of the gap is probably coding the large number of Western Animation subpages for the More dropdown (I have seen subpages as small as 60 KB in HTML so it's not like page navigation usually is that weighty), and the mere existence of pages over 500 KB in HTML that don't trigger the warning probably implies that one of the above measurements is more important, which would mean merging the subpages is perfectly viable. I'm not sure they're so short as to absolutely require merging, though.
The one in the wikipage source edit window or wikipage source display window, the typed markup.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWellIntentionedExtremist.Web Animation only has four works and five examples on the page. Is it too short?
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Anything under six examples is basically an auto-merge.
The fan works page for Codename: Kids Next Door only has six examples, and can easily be remerged onto the Western Animation Fan works page
Isn't Fanworks/ a companion namespace, like Characters/ or Recap/?
Fandoms with smaller numbers of fics have their fics on the page for the medium.
AsianFoxSpirit.Fan Works: Only seven examples and none are very long. I'd already re-merged AsianFoxSpirit.Western Animation for only having three.
Isn't it usually in the form of "Fanfic Recs", aka works that tropers actively recommend? That might be distinct from cataloguing a list of fanworks that have tropes associated with them.
Fanfic Recs and Fanworks are separate namespaces. Fanfic Recs seems to more commonly be a companion namespace that has its own page regardless of the number of works listed.
SignificantWardrobeShift.Western Animation only has six examples (seven counting the sub-bullet). Merge it back?
Yeh, that's not even a full screen on my laptop.
ReferencedBy.Steins Gate has just one entry, folderized. Move to Trivia.Steins Gate?

From this ATT, Foomin Blue has been splitting trope example pages out to media subpages and most of them weren't large enough to be moved from the main page, a merge back to the main page is needed.
And there's a lot more on Foomin's history list.
