Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Yeah, enough overlap to cut.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThere's a draft in TLP, "Gushing About Guest Stars", which could cover in-universe cases like the Clone High one where the fame is exaggerated.
Other than that it seems pretty redundant and I have no objcetions to a cut.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Bump for more opinions.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessYeah, this is really similar to things like Fan Myopia, Pop-Culture Isolation or Obscure Popularity. And if there are any examples to be had with this... Does Informed Attribute allow examples that don't fall into a subtrope?
Given all the wicks, yes.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Bumping as this should have been a quick fix. Single prop to cut?
There might be some merit to the fundamental concept, so I'm thinking either the yard or the TLP.
Hooked.

Crown Description:
Besides not thriving, Informed Real Life Fame relies heavily on Fan Myopia and overlaps with Pop Culture Isolation. What should be done with it?
This is a YMMV item I just encountered today. It has 17 wicks and was made in 2014, which isn't that old, but the concept is a bit muddied, and only six of these wicks are actually in the YMMV namespace. The definition:
Informed Real Life Fame is a type of Audience Reaction that occurs when the luster of a real-life "superstar" seems oddly contained to the universe of a particular TV program or movie where he is appearing As Himself.
However, the few off-page examples seem to refer to cases where the person in question is famous in a different demographic, such as another country. This makes the item subject to Fan Myopia — i.e. "I've never heard of this person before so nobody else must have either." It may also overlap too much with items like Pop-Culture Isolation and Fan Myopia.
Assumed to be more famous to the demographic than they really are
Known to certain audiences, but obscure to the general mainstream
Was famous when the work is produced, no longer famous now
Not known by an audience outside its target demographic
Character treated as more famous than they are as a joke
Zero context example / murky
