Would pre-calamity Link have the same outfit though?
Possibly. He does have the Master Sword.
Also, just the way the trailer is shot makes me think that that's what we're seeing.

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonOoh. I didn't notice that detail. I was so stoked about the Rito that I glossed over the Master Sword right under my nose. The one at the end. I noticed the one just before sudden bird people.

Well the developers earlier claimed that if they made Zelda playable, Link would have nothing to do (a pretty ridiculous claim) but they are fully aware that people want a seriously playable Zelda, so I could still see them doing it.
The idea that both women might be Zelda at different points isn't so crazy either.
One Strip! One Strip! They also did note that the thought of Sheik being playable was considered a better idea.
That said, the reception towards having Zelda playable was a very positive one, so I could see them changing their mind.
A princess Zelda spin off sounds highly likely, they did the same with Princess Peach so it's not too much of a stretch.
New theme music also a boxIndeed. Though Peach was playable in the American Super Mario Bros. 2 years earlier, so it's not like Super Princess Peach is her first shot at it.
One Strip! One Strip!Well Zelda has been getting more attention lately. Playable in SSBB and Hyrule Warriors, looks more actiony here...
She was also kind of playable in Spirit Tracks as a ghost and possessing those Temple Guards.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureWhich is a letdown since she was playable well before via hacks/Zelda Classic stuff as well as in the cdi Zelda games. Most notably, though, as herself. Kind of gets annoying that they have to turn her into something special to have her playable. Just make her a more magic-focused character. There's ways to balance that. Like if her attacks all require magic, make her better at dodging stuff, but also slowly gain magic before(akin to ALBW's item meter) so she isn't helpless.
You could also give her a different kind of weapon. While we know she can use swords(due to various games showing that), why not something more like a wand with less physical strength, but give her starting magic in return, as well as noted, spells. You can easily differentiate them as is, while not losing the puzzle aspect of the series. They can have the same items too.
I'm all for playable Zelda (and/or female Link), but you know what I really want? A spin-off game starring Midna. Imp Midna, specifically. Maybe a stealth prequel to Twilight Princess a la Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker or something else entirely, like those Tingle spin-off games. Midna is too good a character to stay confined to one game, and her design just screams "protagonist."
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I've said it before, I'll say it again: a game set during Link's 7-year nap in OoT starring a playable Zelda would be something I'd play. Some light could be shed on what her Sheikah training under Impa's tutelage was like, and showing how the world changed as Ganondorf's forces grew. Some sections would require Zelda's magical abilities to solve puzzles of her own, while others would require her to take up Sheik's guise to stealth past enemies.
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805It could be interesting.
Not sure how you'd end it, though, considering that Link's ultimately the one to defeat Ganondorf.
Oh God! Natural light! One Zelda game I really wanted was a game that took place in that Civil War that was mentioned in the backstory of Ocarina of Time. I always wanted a Real-Time Strategy or Turn-Based Strategy game set during that Civil War that ultimately ends with Hyrule how it is in Ocarina of Time.
You could choose your race between Hylian, Goron, Zora, Gerudo, and any other races from the Legend of Zelda series.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventurePossibly a good setting for another Hyrule Warriors.
I dunno about that. I love Hyrule Warriors, but a game set during that really specific time period doesn't lend itself to a crossover. Besides, Hyrule Warriors isn't canon, being the Mario Kart of Zelda.
While we're on the subject, which new characters do you think we'll see in Hyrule Warriors 2? We've gotta get Saria, Nabooru, and Groose, right? Maybe a nice Unexpected Character like Beedle? And some new characters from Breath of the Wild, too...

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?MORE VILLAINS.
Trans rights are human rights.Agahnim? Onox and Veran? Who are you thinking? Oh, King Bulblin could've been pretty cool too, but they turned him into a generic mook...
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I have to admit, I have no idea how they ended up thinking that the person in the last shot is somehow the Old Man. And I'm disappointed there they seem to be going for obvious King of Hyrule identity. This Old Man speculation is worth more than just assuming he's King Daphanes in another timeline.
I'm pretty sure these bird people are Rito now. Not!Falco's arms are way to wingy to be used as hands for his bow so I'm certain they are in a transformed state like the Rito do compared to Kass's who where basically just arms with Feather Fingers.
I still suspect the Old Man is Ganondorf, taking a cue from Kirby's villains and duping Link into doing his dirty work for him.
As for the bird people, they don't look like Rito to me. They look a lot more like those bird people from the non-canon Ocarina of Time manga. I realize it's unlikely they'd make something from the manga canon, so maybe I'm making excuses because I really don't want this game to be set in the adult timeline, and seeing Koroks and Ritos would clinch it.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Keep in mind they could be spin-offs of the Rito or evolutions of Zoras, but in a different way. I still find it odd the Zoras became Birds, but eh.
It's still reasonable for Koroks to appear in two different timelines because they're basically just the true forms of Kokiri.
I don't think the bird people are Rito.
They might be an evolution of the Loftwings. The iconography on "Not Falco's" bow looks like the wings of the Loftwings.
Also there are some major differences between the bird people in Breath of the Wild and the Rito in Wind Waker.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure
Personally, I think ATTP enemies only seem to be hard is because of they cause damage to you if you so much as even touch a pixel of them. That and 16-bits allows multiple enemies in a single room. They don't really have good AI suffice to say.
