I'd like that plan if it weren't for the ridiculous amount of inbounds.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Maybe turn it into an exampleless definition page?
Do we want to retain inbounds for a page that's not a trope, not a work, not a useful note, and probably shouldn't be on TV Tropes?
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Plus White Knight being used as a redirect, when the usual meaning (which is where White Knighting derives from) is another term for Knight In Shining Armour.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?We could just quietly redirect it to Knight in Shining Armor.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickNew plan, that.
Don't tell anyone. Shhhhhhhhhhhh.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Ehh... I think that's a really bad idea. White Knighting is used as sort of a deconstruction of the Knight in Shining Armor archetype. Redirecting it there would be extremely confusing to a lot of people.
But it's not used on it's own as a trope in media. It's something that people on the internet get accused of. And that's the closest actual trope to it.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickRedirecting something to a page that doesn't fit the old definition just because of the name strikes me as a bad idea. I'd rather see it cut than stealth-redirected.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien. The problem are the inbounds, yes? I sort of think we need a general discussion on what to do with problem child pages that need a cut but have lots of inbounds.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBumping. Assuming that this isn't a trope, disambiguating it between Online Personas and Knight in Shining Armor and other tropes may make sense.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportQuestion about making it an exampleless definition page: Would we not allow examples on other pages? I'd imagine they suffer similar issues as the on-page examples.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Nope. By default "exampleless" is only on-page. In most cases, we cannot enforce off-page rules well.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIn that case, a quick wick check:
- Ad Hominem: Correct
- Agent Carter: Standard misuse (defend someone who doesn't need/want defending, done more for the defender's sake than the defended)
- A Girl Who Brought Down the World: Correct.
- Allison Pregler: Pretty sure it's shoehorned, but it's more towards the correct definition.
- All-New X-Men: Standard misuse.
- A Pseudo-Pseudo Suzu Route: Standard misuse.
- Atop the Fourth Wall: Correct.
- Because Destiny Says So: Standard misuse.
- Befriending the Enemy: Standard misuse.
- Bimbos of the Death Sun: Violation of Examples Are Not Arguable, but the right definition.
- Black Lagoon: Standard misuse.
- Bully Hunter: Standard misuse.
- Captain America: Standard misuse.
- Classic Alice: I have no idea, honestly.
- Critical Miss: Standard misuse.
- Dangan Ronpa: The Courage of Hope and The Strength of Despair: I have even less of an idea.
So yeah, if that factors into peoples' votes. Of 15 wicks (10% of the total wicks): 9 misused, 4 correct use, 2 I can't tell.
Given this and the fact making it exampleless won't solve the wick problem at all, I actually lean towards expanding it to match the misuse and maybe rename (maybe Thinks Himself A White Knight?). Or barring that, a straight cut. But it's so late in the crowner I'm not sure if I should add it.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them."Cut" is at 12:2
Link to TRS threads in project mode here. It's been long enough, so calling the crowner in favor of cutting.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThis is just cut isn't it? It's not "cut and YKTTW something new", I can just start removing it as a wikiword everywhere and deleting trope entries?
Should we change the redirect to point to Knight in Shining Armor? It seems to be used for this a lot, since Black Knight is its opposite so people think White Knight is pointing to Knight in Shining Armor. Also White Knight and White KnightING are different in most people's heads. The first one makes you think of a Paladin, the second makes you think of things like r/ShitRedditSays and other people defending women.
I'll get rid of White Knighting first, then do the rest later.

Keeper of The Celestial FlameIf that's the common use for that redirect, that's a possible solution.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportEDIT: Misread.
What're the inbounds for White Knight? Does it have a lot? Honestly, I'd probably rather not have it at all as if it's a blue link it runs the risk of misuse. But I don't feel strongly either way.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.52 wicks, 4 inbounds.
I assume we are also cutting White Knight?
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
Probably crowner time. At this point I'm inclined to say "cut and leave the name for YKTTW if someone wants it"
