What are you talking about?
Yuri carried Atem the whole series.
I mean, he literally carried him, since he held Atem's soul in his body and all that.
One Strip! One Strip! But that's all he did. Yugi was merely a vessel for Atem. Yugi didn't duel much: Atem did.
What are you talking about, we don't even know if Joeri and Atem are even from the same dimension.
And I repied your joke because you misspelled Yugi as Yuri in the second line.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Mad Fair Play Fair Duel
I don't get it :/
GIVE ME YOUR FACEI decided to rewatch the last two arcs of 5D's given what's about to happen in ARC-V and yeah...that plot needed another rewrite or two to truly solidify (excessive Synchro summoning caused Momentum to become empathetic and respond to mankind's collective greed and darkness by summoning a massive Killer Robot horde to wipe us all out as a form of Gaia's Vengeance...right... It's rather telling that during the epilogue arc they just go "oh we've fixed that little defect, take our word for it" and nothing more is said on the matter). Though I wasn't as vocal about it as others were at the time I too feel that ZONE not actually being future Yusei was a pretty big cop-out and her wasn't too interesting a villain once that was taken away. In fact they don't even do much with the doppelganger aspect since aside from the initial "what the hell?" and a bit of I Know You Know I Know Yusei barely has any reaction that this guy tried to physically become him, believing him to be a savior figure.
Favorite duel of that arc was the Jack, Rua, and Ruka vs. Aporia one, since unlike other guys in the franchise Aporia didn't impose any crazy gameplay restrictions since he was being ganged up on (well, aside from the "you die if you lose" bit) and his strategy was effective without being broken. And he made a lot of funny faces during his Villainous Breakdown. Funny though how the main spectacle of the duel is Rua becoming a Signer, yet it's actually won through Jack dogpiling a ridiculous combo chain on Aporia. Least favorite duel was Aki and Crow vs. Sherry because it was just sorta...there just to give the characters involved something to do. Half the time was spent with Aki and Crow (unknowingly) dueling themselves instead of their opponent, there was no real big-bad boss monster to take out, and the ultimate effect of the Z-ONE card was kinda tame for being this Plot Coupon that Yliaster was willing to kill for.
The epilogue arc and the final duel with Yusei and Jack I felt was a decent send-off for the show and where Team 5D's all ultimately ended up generally made sense given their characters. I felt the same general sense of, dare I say it, satisfaction watching it now that I did when the finale originally aired (High and Low is still rather bullshit, though). Hopefully ARC-V does justice to Jack and Crow's characters and doesn't neglect its own cast, and once I finish my Big Gundam Watchathonâ„¢ I'll probably go back and watch the rest of ZEXAL and GX that I never saw for myself, which is practically the whole thing in the latter's case.
Oh god during their private farewell scene Yusei's telling Aki that she should always smile there's no escape
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsI liked Crow and Aki vs. Sherry because Aki kept a cool head. She tells Crow to man up and duel several times, and made the winning move.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I also liked the vs. Sherry duel, and thought the 'Aki and Crow are fighting each other' twist was neat (even if it did take me a rewatch to fully understand it). Especially since it was the first girl vs. girl duel since, I believe, Aki and Misty- the WRGP was sorely lacking in female competitors.
My favourite battle in that arc has to go to Yusei vs. Bruno though. Aki/Crow and Jack/Rua/Ruka didn't really have any strong connections to their opponents (Aki and Sherry did have potential, but pretty much fizzled out after a bit of Les Yay... it also seemed too jarring that Rua would be so hung up over Aporia's death after the guy tried to, you know, torture and murder the twins). Yusei's relationship with Bruno made the duel feel more personal, gave more emotional credence to the 'loser will die' rule, and did wonders in justifying the I Know You Know I Know (because they've been hanging out for 60+ episodes, of course Bruno knows how to counter all of Yusei's moves right up to Shooting Star itself).
I feel like I'm the only person who didn't really mind the 'Yusei isn't Z-One' twist.
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobThe duel with Antinomy was definitely one of the major highlights of the later parts of the series. The sequence of Halberd Cannon ripping through space-time to pull Shooting Star Dragon out of banishment with his bare hands was aces.
I didn't realize until rewatching the ZONE duel that Yusei never did actually use Delta Accel Synchro, though that does tie into the whole evolution thing I suppose. Perhaps the unseen Cosmic Blazar Dragon would've been his Delta Accel Synchro monster?
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsYes, it is. It was even given a physical release as a card in Japan, I think.
Watch SymphogearNope. We know shit-all about Cosmo Blazar Dragon aside from that as a Limit Accel Synchro monster it requres 2 Synchros and a Synchro Tuner, that Yusei summoned it, and its name.
While I'd love to see it, I have no doubt that we're never going to, ever.
I wasn't bothered by it either. I had entertained that thought when Z-One first appeared, but I had also thought that he imitated Yusei in some shape or form. That, and I thought that Zero Reverse took place long after Yusei's time.
Still, when the reveal happened, most Youtube comments expressed utter hatred that Yusei wasn't really Z-One! Blew my mind, it did.

I added Scott Irvine to the KaibaCorp character list. Even though he didn't work there by the time of his major role in The Falsebound Kingdom, he started there, so... yeah.

The Protomen enhanced my life. When me and my friend were kids, we used to "play YGO," and Scott was the main villain of our "stories." I think just because we thought his name was cool.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Anubis' monster form would make an awesome Duel Monster. He has multiple forms, too!
The Protomen enhanced my life.We have a Pantheon page for Yu-Gi-Oh now! Bandit Keith just joined it.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Found this post about manga!Joey's fighting skills and it makes me want to see manga Joey and anime Kaiba fight it out.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Oh god. I'd have loved to see Anime Kaiba get roflstomped in a fight by Manga Joey.
I don't know if this has been brought up or not, but I'm starting to think the anime writers either didn't like Joey, or something. He's still a great duelist, but he really got short-changed.
Then again, they love Kaiba, so they likely would have had anime Kaiba beat his ass anyway, cause lord knows they can't let their golden boy look bad.
One Strip! One Strip!I think the anime director didn't like Joey, so the writers followed suit. He did get to save Kaiba from Nezbitt, though, and he and Tristan beat up that gang in a flashback.
Joey was better at fighting in the 4Kids commissioned stuff—he kicked a zombie's head off in Pyramid of Light. In Capsule Monsters he punched out an 800 ATK/1000 DEF Prisman, dodged Battle Ox's axe complete with a roll to keep his balance, and blocked a Skull Knight's bade with his bare hands. He also got to beat up Yami Yugi, albeit while possessed by an evil force.

The Protomen enhanced my life.I really, really think Joey should get a chance to beat Kaiba in a Duel in an official work.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Eh, Joey honestly is better than Kaiba on the basis that in canon, Joey defeated Yami in a duel after Battle City, something Kaiba himself never accomplished fairly.
Stella ~Part 3 (Atelier Shallie)
So that means no Pharaoh. I kind of like the idea of just Yugi dueling without Atem. Yugi never did much in the series anyway.
