Really not much info about the May update yet. And I'm not completely sure, but that's how it's been from my experience.

Say, does anyone know how to upload replays? I just won my first 2-out-of-3 against an Ultra Bronze Karin, and I wanted someone to have a look at it to see how badly I screwed up only to barely scrape by. Because that's exactly what happened. :V

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."Don't usually double-post, but I have to ask; is there a way to block certain players from picking up your connection? I keep running into the same guy over and over again. I must have fought at least nine 2-out-of-3s with him by now. It's not like I can't win if I try hard enough, it just gets real tedious fighting the same person all the bloody time.
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."You can't, otherwise people would block all of the good players.
Try waiting about 5 minutes before re-queueing so the other guy fights someone else.
As for replays to youtube, I'm not sure how to do it. I hope that Tatsumar (? sorry if I butcher your name) guy comes back.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Well, I wasn't thinking about uploading anything to YouTube. It's just that some of my replays seem to be glitched up because they're not showing up on any lists besides my favourites; and they all appear to be have been recorded in July 1906, which I believe is a good half-a-century before video games were invented. Which is irritating.
I must wonder, though... is one more likely to run into people of a similar skill level in Ranked than they are in Casual? Or does it just seem that way because losing LP leads to getting demoted, which, in turn, leads to easier victories? :V

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."I'm not sure about how samey the skill level is, but given you can fight people up to 2 color ranks above and below you (e.g. golds can get into fights with bronze all the way to platinum). So it can lead to new players wondering why they are running into people with say, 6000+ LP.
Demoted, I guess, leads to easier fights, but it'd take a demotion of color rank for that to happen.
I'm not sure if there's any rank restriction in casual, though. But there are fairly high-point players going casual sometimes that I encounter and destroy me.
As you know, all of your fights are in CFN and you need to download and save them. The July 1906 bug is hilarious though.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Yo, we got that sweet reveal...

Her theme is nice though her voice is annoying. But i never liked playing as her so hype is kind of low.
She's a Naruto character full-blast now...
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I'll admit, I wasn't interested in her before simply because she's a Fragile Speedster-type character, but now she has bombs?! I'm f@#&ing sold.
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."This gonna be a meme now? At least it's made fun of by combo video maker Desk.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! So it has been officially confirmed that Ibuki won't be out until the story update.
I'm not gonna lie. I've honestly lost patience with Street Fighter V at this point. This means that it will be four and a half months since launch, going to the end of June, when we'll have any substantial mode updates. They've completely screwed up the potential of the update system to fix the game, and it's reputation in time. And it's now in competition with both Guilty Gear Xrd REVELATOR, and KOF XIV in August. So now they have stiffer competition, and they not only have to gain more customers for the game, but try and shake off the, sadly earned, bad reputation it has.
I still think the game itself is fantastic, but man did Capcom's hubris shoot them in the legs big time.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Does anyone else think the smile in Ibuki's victory pose is a little... creepy? I think it's those eyelids...
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Right now, I'd rather play Guilty Gear than SF, but I still participate in tourneys for fun.
Ah, well without Ibuki for now, there's no reason to really play SF right now except practice for tourney.
Her win pose has a weird face though, I can see.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! So you go to tourneys? This is news. I've never been an e-sports person, myself.
I'm a little annoyed right now because I forgot to disable automatic renewal of my PS Plus; I only ever use it for SFV, and at the moment I'm getting a little bored with it. I was hoping the Ibuki update would rekindle my interest, but now that's been delayed, so I'll have to wait at least another month before I'll really feel motivated to start playing again.
I know that someone made a toothpase parody ad of Ibuki's smile, but I can't seem to find it, irritatingly. It was somewhere on R/StreetFighter.

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."Well I usually go 0-2 in SF and perform marginally better in Guilty Gear, but I still support the scene. Some old highschool and college arcade buddies (particularly the Guilty Gear ones) still play, and it's nice to see them periodically.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! So I just had a random thought (which I may move to the general street fighter thread later on...do we have a general thread?):
Now we have Ki, we have Psycho Power, we have technology, and there's probably some stuff I'm forgetting, but is there any example of explicit magic in the Street Fighter universe?
I mean, Magic is usually either the same as Ki, or something different depending on the medium, but in this case, I'm defining it as distinct from the Ki user and their abilities. So have there been any examples of characters who fight using something that could be called magic?
It's something that started nagging at me just now.
One Strip! One Strip!Soul Power is pretty damn close, the power that Rose uses. But out and out Magic Users are not present in the Street Fighter Universe.
I think the closest actual magic has ever gotten to the Street Fighter cast was Tessa's presence in SNK Vs Capcom: SVC Chaos. But of course, that's non-canon. I only really brought that up to remind everyone that Red Earth exists. It looks like a nice game. :V
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."Huh.
I guess so. It's funny that I never noticed it before. I think King Of Fighters does have magic users along with it's completely normal fighters, the numerous mind based abilities, not quite clones of main characters, and those with demon blood that can possess them.
I mean, Orochi alone definitely counts as something magical, along with that gate that Those from the Past used.
One Strip! One Strip! What about Necali? There's some kind of ancient divine Aztec magic going on there.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I suppose? It could just be another energy-type thing like everything else though.... It's really hard to tell with Necalli. Like, everything's really hard to figure out with that guy... :T
I hate to deliver bad news again, but i've discovered that Capcom's Japan blog has stated that the DLC plans (ie the monthly releases) put out was not the actual plans, as the Japan team didn't think they could deliver on the monthly character model.
So basically, it was a massive miscommunication from the start, and there never were solid plans for monthly characters. Sigh... I'm... Just gonna wait until they inevitably release the June update information, maybe at E3, before I condemn this game. I REALLY don't want to hate it but... Man...

A corpse should be left well enough alone...So, in other words, they basically lied?
I will be honest, I am just as annoyed as you are by Capcom's myriad mistakes, especially the lack of communication and generally coming across as very behind-the-times. But I think the correct thing to do is not to condemn the game itself, since you've already admitted you think it's a good game; instead, you should condemn Capcom's poor handling of the game. It's not the game's fault that its creators have been tripping over their own shoelaces, after all.
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."
Are you sure? I could've sworn it'd make more sense if it was the other way around. I mean, the last time I accidentally disconnected during a fight (which was while I was decisively losing said fight, I might add, so it didn't look good for me), it froze up for a few seconds. This time around, it disconnected immediately after I KO'd him.
Also, on an unrelated note, I can't help but notice that there doesn't seem to be as much fuss about the May update on the grapevine as there was over the March and April updates. Have people just gotten bored with endless anticipation, or is it because not many people like Balrog? I'm still looking forward to Balrog, if only because of his brilliant theme.
