The current is rather obtuse...
I'd say pull the current as JAFAAC. I have no idea who that guy is, really, but a close-up of his face doesn't illustrate this trope either way.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Obnoxiously caption reliant. He used to review works dated approx. 1980-2000, but he hasn't been restricting himself to that ever since he became Un-Canceled. I'm a huge NC fan, but I still say pull.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I have every idea who that guy is, but the image relies too much on Fan Myopia to work, even with the caption (since it doesn't explain his prior cutoff date rule, and is so long as-is that there's no room to explain it). Cut, with or without replacement.
Moon◊Original idea I posted all the way back on the YKTTW for this Trope was using Miami Vice and a picture of the latter-show episode where James Brown is an alien. Because, you know, grim-and-gritty cop drama set in Miami must be on something (or running out of something) if you are going to make a Cryptid Episode and use someone like James Brown as the cryptid.
Or we can change the picture of NC and still make it work. He also reviewed Man Of Steel, which is even less "nostalgic".

The current image is worthless on its own and barely functional even with the caption. As someone who's only heard of the guy in passing, the only indication I can see that he's not supposed to be reviewing a six-month-old work is the word "nostalgia" in his name, which is not very strong.
OK, so the idea of the Miami Vice episode still stands. People have heard enough about (and/or seen enough) Miami Vice to go "WTF" if we tell them that there was an episode with an honest-to-God Alien Abduction (and James Brown playing the alien).
Disagree...I have no idea what that show is.
Yeah, I'm not familiar with that show either. Just having heard the name before isn't enough for me to know that there wouldn't be aliens normally.
The only way I can imagine the idea being portrayed is by showing an earlier episode of a show along with a later one, but even then, finding a good comparison probably won't be easy.
Nostalgia Critic isn't gonna work. Let's pull.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanVice is a grim-and-gritty crime drama from The '80s (ever played "Vice City"? Whole lot of the visuals reference the show). Prototype of a bunch of current-day crime drama tropes (at least in the United States), such as a massive use of the Downer and Pyrrhic Victory Bittersweet Ending for its episodes.
Grim-and-gritty crime drama shows who's biggest amount of "Monster of the Week" influx came from The War On Drugs are not places to put Alien Invasion episodes.

Here is why I thought that idea up.
What about a progression of Seasons 1-3 of Sponge Bob with weird but funny humor, then the weird gross-out stuff from Season 4 like the Flying Dutchman turning into a giant baby/worm/whatever?

Clock is set.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanClock is up with no progress; closing.

For readers who might not know what exactly The Nostalgia Critic used to do, does it seem necessary to add a picture of him with a movie that might actually seem nostalgic? I'm thinking this teaser for his review of the Felix the Cat: The Movie, but without the subtitle.
