NaNoWriMo 2014

So, who else is participating this year. I tried it last year, but I severely underestimated how hard it would be to keep my motivation up. This year, I'm hoping to do better and finish my work from last year.

I've updated my word count with the words I wrote from last year (8,387), so I'll be ahead of the average pace even if I don't write anything tonight.

I'm participating! I had trouble keeping motivated as you did, but this time I have multiple projects I want to work on, so I'll add the word count together and it will be much harder for me to lose interest. I haven't started yet, but I will tonight!

Also participating. Continuing my And Then There Were Monsters story from last year. Which reminds me, I still need to go back and fix that stupid search and replace glitch that made it look bad on my site...

I am! I'm kind of redoing a story I wrote years ago.

This is the first time I'm participating. Whether or not i finish depends on school really.

I'm participating! I'm continuing my Portal fanfiction from where I left off yesterday. I have about 400 words right now, and my goal is 30,000. A few of my irl friends are participating too. One's writing a Frozen fanfiction (fire!Anna AU) from scratch and the other's doing a Norse gods story similar to the Percy Jackson series. This is my first time doing Na No Wri Mo, and I signed up this year to keep myself from procrastinating writing my story.

I may do it. I have several excellent ideas in mind, but can never bring myself to initiate them. Maybe this'll be enough motivation.

After three years of doing NaNoWriMo, and winning it, I'm opting out and instead doing one writing-related task a day. I need to teach myself to write regularly again.

I'm in, and I'm almost at 10k now! I decided to boost at the very beginning so that I have a bit of space during the week...

I'm so far behind it's not even funny. Time to write or die.

As you can see in my sig, I'm trying my hardest! I spent at least three hours writing today.

Starting tomorrow (with word count goals adjusted to compensate).

Well, I got a couple hundred words down already, but tomorrow I'm starting in earnest.

Im writing a story for this.my word count is in the 1100s currently(it's been about an hour I forgot kinda)

I got 13816, and I'll write some more today because I've got the whole afternoon. Sooo, everything going smoothly or are you already hitting a wall?

So much wall. I've decided to make an intermission in a setting I actually want to write in, but it will be very different in tone. "Alright, so it looks like there's more kung fu, and yet another silly fighting style. Oh, an intermission! I wonder what- Holy shit! There's zombies and a zombie cyborg Cloverfield monster and a fucking flood of blood in the middle of a city!" I'm certain that the intermission will lead up to next year's (hopefully more successful) NaNo

Provisional project title Madopolska is technically a NaNoWriMo project. Last year's.

To hell with word count. If I can get this thing to completion and then polished to second-draft status (i.e., the point where I can show it off to a dedicated beta reader with a fair degree of confidence), I'll be content.

I go to 10000 on monday, and I've only written 3000 since then. But I didn't expect much during weekdays anyway, so I'm all good.

Same here. I don't write too much during the week and boost on the weekends.

If I go from last night midnight to tonight midnight, then I wrote 5000 words. But I started writing last night about 11pm, and stopped about 1am. I split the difference for my Na No word count anyway, so updating when I get home will make me look incredibly productive for this night.

My total is at 39,300, so if I can keep it up, I'll finish by Thanksgiving. And this year, I can't have my winning fic destroyed by my idiot nephew dumping koolaid into my laptop, because everything's being posted straight to FFN.

Regrouping. Redoing my outline today, shooting for 7,000-8,000 words/day until I win, then trying to get the 100,000-word manuscript written by Dec 10.

Net year I start the outline Sept 1.

I'm afraid I probably won't finish but this is the closest I've ever come to making it so I'm proud either way

Oh, and finished my novel. Didn't like the ending.

Didn't he do one last year, too? This year's was very snarky.

I have 2k left to write. I did another 900 today, but my brain is fried from exertion earlier, so I'll try and get it done tomorrow.

I have 9.5k left.

I need caffeine. Not just soda or 5 Hour Energy, I need straight-up caffeine injected into my veins 24/7 in order to get through this. But noooo, that's "dangerous" or something.
