I used to write music reviews (I still write for the site, but we don't do reviews anymore) and I used "20% cooler" in a review before realizing what I'd written.
I thought that was a Simpsons reference. 'Ooh, floor popcorn!'
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatWhen you say 'fandom', do you mean a specifically fan-coined term, or do you include lines from the actual media, too?
A friend and I leapt at the opportunity to go all Wayne's World at Alice Cooper once, with the bowing and 'We're not worthy!' etc. He seemed to find it funny, even though he must get that all the time.
Another incident that springs to mind is while shopping for Star Wars figures (I collect Alliance and Imperial military personnel and droids...) specifically a new version of R5-D4, the red astromech from ANH, I was flicking through a rack that seemed to consist entirely of different versions of prequel trilogy battle droids, my wife (well, girlfriend as she was then) quietly sidled up and said 'These aren't the droids you're looking for.' At which point I folded up.
Admittedly I throw out movie quotes and song lyrics left, right and centre, but those are two of my favourites.

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Well, things in canon, but your lines could be accidental takes on inside-jokes among fans, too.
I was thinking of the Simpsons, too. Homer Simpson and Pit have similar eating habits (to the point that has me making Simpsons jokes in my Nintendo fanfictions around him). But "Floor Ice Cream" in particular...
"These aren't the droids you're looking for" - VERY NICE!!!!
In which I attempt to be a writer. This actually happens to me a lot.
- I once accidentally said "Time to tip the scales!" when I was about to finally bear down and do some work I've been putting off for a while. Then I realized I liked it and put it in my vocabulary.
- I still have to struggle to not spell "Fairy" as "Faerie".
- "A change of scenery is always nice."
- I once answered "I'm really feeling it, that's for sure" when asked how I was feeling (and I was clearly stressed-out).
- "You're too slow!"
- I don't know how I still end up saying "plot" as a euphemism for backside since I left that fandom ages ago.
- From YouTube Poop:
- "Gee, it sure is boring around here."
- "I wonder what's for dinner."
- "Hoah, ship!"
- "HoH Si2"
- "[grumblegrumble] do it all over again [grumble]..."
- If this counts, I find myself making mechanical clicking noises with each footstep from time to time.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerFor non-deliberate ones, I write a blog reviewing various Marvel films. The first sentence for the Hulk 2003 review was "I was only nine years old." When I checked back on that review later, I realized that it is also the first sentence of Shrek is Love, Shrek is Life. Upon realizing this, I had a good laugh and immediately wrote a version of the story substituting Shrek and Shrek related things for Hulk and Hulk related things.
Cortex should take a 12-step plan off a 10-step pierWow, I thought I was the only person who randomly referenced HoH SiS and/or couldn't giggle without hearing the phrase "do it all over again". You've done a good JoJ in reminding me that I'm not alone.
"Faerie" is a perfectly acceptable spelling. It's not just a Neopets thing. I've seen it in lots of places... I think it is actually supposed to be the more reverent term for highly magical entities. At least, that's how I've seen it in fantasy.
The clicking noises when walking... that reminds me of my guy's adult nephew, who is such a Transformers fan, from G1, who enjoys making transforming noises when he sits down.
In which I attempt to be a writer.I have referenced Homestuck (and Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff) without realizing it until after I've said it.
The usual line I've done this with is "I warned you about stairs".
Stupid doomed timeline...You actually met Alice Cooper? I'm insanely jealous of you now.
Mache dich, mein Herze, rein...We kinda bumped into him browsing in a book shop before a gig we were going to that night.
We managed to fight our way to the very front at the gig and I could have sworn he recognised us. He's such a cool guy.

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'The only thing that comes to mind is "That reminds me of a puzzle." Damn you, Professor Layton!
I don’t even know anymore.
What I mean is... by accident, not design. Have you caught yourself saying some line from one or another of your favorite fictions / fandoms without meaning to? You say the line, the realize it's just like or similar to some inter-fandom joke?
This just happened to me: After a failed run to the local laundromat, which was unexpectedly undergoing a power-outage, my significant other detoured to getting some Halloween candy just in case of the unlikely event we get visitors tommorrow. (We live in this weird back apartment whereby even our mail and shipping carriers can't find the door)... so, usually, we just get candy to sugar-rush on. However, keeping me out of the candy until the right time can be a challenge, so he picked up some Ben and Jerry's. I am currently eating this dark chocolate murder-pint. And then he tossed me a Kit-Kat and planted the idea in my brain of dipping it into the ice cream.... because, um... when it comes to chocolate, I have no regard for any of the laws of God or Nature.
I was laughing and coming out into the hall and living room to show him my sinful behavior with the Kit-Kat. I accidentally dropped some nugget of brownie from the ice cream on the very clean carpet, and I didn't want it to stain and... welp, five-second rule.
I said "Ooh, Floor Ice Cream!"
And about half a second later, I realized that I've been writing too much Kid Icarus and Super Smash Brothers fan fiction with a lot of Pit in it, because... um... Help, Pit is living my brain, apparently!
(For those who aren't familiar with Kid Icarus Uprising , the main character, Pit, lampshades quirks of video game healing and power ups by commenting on his eating food off the floor. One of his best-loved lines in the fandom is "Floor Ice Cream gives you health!"
Mmmm. Health.
Anyone else have weird "Did I just spout a line from one of my fandoms?" accident once in a while?
