Ok, per mod decision, the purpose of this thread is to scrutinize and clean up pages about web sites. Other Sites, especially, has become a catch-all for "my favorite web site that I feel like pimping."
THE FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS:
- A Web Site Is Not A Work For Troping Purposes: A website can contain tropable content, but the site itself does not automatically have a place with us simply by existing.
- A Web Site That Is Not Tropable Can Sometimes Be Repurposed: It may have a place as a Useful Notes page, or serve as an index if it hosts a lot of works that we do trope.
- User Antics Are Not Tropable: Trolls, mod decisions, forum drama. Such are Troper Tales and sources of spiritual decay. They must be purged, even from acceptable pages.
- User Created Content Is Potentially Tropable: But most of it has its own categories already, such as Game Mod, Fan Fiction, or Journal Roleplay.
Put pages you believe should be completely cut in the crowner at the bottom. If you believe a page can be saved or migrated, make a post with details. Other Sites contains the primary targets right now, but any page about a web site should be scrutinized

If there's no original writing and it just lists tropes (archetypes) that apply with reasoning, I personally don't think it's tropable.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIf it's decided that the page should be cut, do you think that a Useful Notes or Just For Fun page for the Tumblr / Fandom Sexyman phenomenon in general would be allowed?

If I die, tell Hex Haywire I loved him.Does it need further explanation than what Memes.Tumblr has?
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupPersonally I think it has value in a Books on Trope way, as many of the qualifications it uses to describe what counts as a "sexyman" are taken from this website, or at least fit into existing tropes, while still having their own site-specific definitions.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I'm currently thinking that Know Your Meme deserves to keep its page here for similar reasons.
On another subject, Blog.Little Green Footballs is technically not in the Website/ namespace, but... who thought this having a TV Tropes page would be a good idea?

That was my thought when I started up the page. Speaking of, now that you mention it, do you think I should add the page to that index if it's decided it can stay?
I feel like if such a page were to be made, it could be used to give a brief history of how the phenomenon started and give further analysis. For example, I feel like something that could be touched upon is the common misconception that a Sexyman can't be conventionally attractive; they can, but they need to have something to them that would make the average person question the sanity of their admirers. I like to call it the "But Wait..." Factor (i.e. "But wait, why are so many people obsessed with this cartoon skeleton?"note "But wait, isn't he from a Dr. Seuss movie?"note "But wait, isn't he just one of several villagers with the same personality that you can have on your island of talking animals?"note ).

If I die, tell Hex Haywire I loved him. What to do with Konoha Corner? It seems to me that at least half the entries are troping real people and there's plenty of stuff commented out, but it seems they were doing some sort of roleplay so in principle there is something tropable. However before I do some cleanup, I want to know if it's worth keeping the page at all, because the podcast itself seems to have gone. I have messaged the last to edit the page asking if they know of any other source.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.Their Youtube and Wordpress are still up, and the links have been changed. So availability is not a concern.
However I am still unsure about such entries as:
- Ascended Fanboy: Kiba, better known on Tvtropes as Takashi 0, has been appointed as the groups official AMV creator and Tvtropes article editor for creating this very page.
- Gender Bender: The ratio of women who pose as male characters to men portraying male characters is rather unbalanced. (Maybe Cross-Dressing Voices?)
- Implies existence of the wiki article qualifies for fan ascension and I dislike when TV Tropes is viewed like that. Also, probably more importantly, that trope is IUEO.
- I don't think that fits, either. Crosscast Role? It's lacking context.

Neither of those is a narrative trope anyway.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I removed any tropes that seemed to be applied to real people instead of the roleplay they engage in.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.Do Virtual Pet sites go in Website/ or VideoGame/? I feel like they should be in the latter. We have these in VideoGame/ already: Celestial Vale, Flight Rising, OviPets, Pixel Cat's End, among others - I think the rest should follow suit. I don't mind handling it myself.
- Chicken Smoothie
- Dragon Adopters
- Dragon Cave
- Lioden
- Neopets
- Petpet Park
- PokéFarm
- Subeta
- Sylestia
- UniCreatures
- Wajas
- Wolvden
Neopets has been debated multiple times and current consensus is that it belongs in Website/ because it's fully HTML browser based aside from a few old flash elements such as the side games and animations. IDK about the others (though Petpet Park is a spinoff of it)

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWell, the same can be said for most of the sites I listed that are already in Video Game. I don't really mind either way, I just wish they were consistent
LP Deprecation Cleanup | Ask me about SMPLiveI think VideoGame.Duolingo should be in Website/, too. That's where it started, isn't it?
I didn't even know Duolingo had other platforms.
But I'm not too concerned over consistency. It should be based on the work itself and what's emphasized, not so much the genre of "virtual pet game". Like I said, Neopets in particular is very much just a website, it has gameplay but you're exploring a website built in HTML. I can't speak for the others, but ones that are similar to it should likely also be in website/. Ones that are more traditionally game-like should probably be Video Game/
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessProbably. And is it even a game? Last time I've checked Duolingo had nothing but quizes with "play every day" scoring.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupOne could consider the quiz structure to be like a video game due to its presentation.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Don’t forget the stories Duolingo sometimes uses to teach languages. As someone familiar with it, I’m fine with it being in Video Game/.
You may be right. Just don’t delete the page entirely, because it’s clearly tropable in multiple ways.

Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Telling stories to teach people isn't a video game or even necessarily a visual novel thing, happens in my school text books all the time. I'd prefer it go to Website/.

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectI second that opinion, also, several posts up with the virtual pet thing, i would like to bring up Akinator. Started out as just a web game but later got a mobile port that i am pretty sure introduced at least a new trope or two. Should that go into the video game namespace instead?
Yes, it's always been a game.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupAlright, also i came across a useful notes related thread https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=16774558610A31578400&page=6#144
So the platform namespace was proposed for some stuff, and websites came up. The last post stated it would require crowner activity and i think that relates to here
Basically the idea Adem came up with was
"if the website itself has 5 fully context tropes or more then it'd website and platform as a redirect otherwise it's platform as the main one and website we the redirect"

Is there a reason to keep it?
