I discovered Tvtropes when I was looking up game guides for Dragon Quest IX and decided to check this one out in a move that ruined my life

I think it was early in my sophomore year of college (2008) that I got linked to my first trope. It took a few months for me to get past the "read a page, read any wiki walk tabs from the page, click random page when out of tabs" phase. I think it was summer of 2009 before I got bored enough to join the forum.
So that's five to six years now.
